  • Using iPhotoGallery in a tab bar based application

    - by suranga
    Hi, I need to use a photo gallery similar to the one iPhone uses. For this I have downloaded the iPhotoGallery source code from google svn repository. (http://code.google.com/p/iphotogallery/). I need to know how to use this project in our own tab bar based application. i.e. I want to load the thumbs view when I go to a particular tab in my application. Does anybody have a clue?

  • Delegate Method only Firing after 5 or so Button Presses?

    - by CoDEFRo
    I'm having the most bizarre problem which I'm not even close to figuring out. I have a button which fires a delegate method. Once upon a time it was working fine, but after making some changes to my code, now the delegate method only fires after I push the button x amount of times (the changes I made to the code had nothing to do with the infrastructure that connects the delegate together). It varies, it can be 5 times to 10 times. I used the analyzer to check for memory leaks and there aren't any. There is too much code for me to paste here (I don't even know where to start or where the problem could be), but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before, or what could be causing it? This is very odd and have no clue what could be causing it.

    - by JJSaccolo
    Hi everybody! i'm trying to save some informations in an iphone/ipad app. The problem is that it works but if i close the app (with the home button on the simulator or closing with cmd+q) the informations become lost! this is my code (and, if you see, i used "syncronize") - (IBAction)choose1{ NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [defaults setObject:@"choose1" forKey:@"choose"]; [defaults synchronize]; } - (IBAction)choose2{ NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [defaults setObject:@"choose2" forKey:@"choose"]; [defaults synchronize]; } - (IBAction)openview{ NSString *var = [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:@"choose"]; if (var == @"choose1"){ [self pushViewController:view1 animated:YES];} else if (var == @"choose1"){ [self pushViewController:view2 animated:YES]; } } I don't understand why :(

  • Why won't my UITableViewCell deselect and update its text?

    - by Josh
    I have a UITableView with a list of stories and a cell at the bottom that loads more stories. I am trying to make the "More Stories..." cell deselect and change its text to "Loading..." when clicked. I have searched all over the internet and all over stackoverflow and I cant figure out why my code isnt working right. Right now, when the "More Stories..." cell is clicked, it stays selected and doesnt ever change its text. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { // Navigation logic int storyIndex = [indexPath indexAtPosition: [indexPath length] - 1]; if (storyIndex == [stories count]) { UITableViewCell *moreCell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:@"more"]; if (moreCell == nil) { moreCell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle reuseIdentifier:@"more"] autorelease]; } // Set up the cell moreCell.textLabel.text = @"Loading..."; [tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES]; [self moreStories]; } else { NSLog(@"%@",[[stories objectAtIndex: storyIndex] objectForKey: @"link"]); webViewController *webController; webController = [[webViewController alloc] initWithURLPassed:[[stories objectAtIndex: storyIndex] objectForKey: @"link"]]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:webController animated:YES]; [webController release]; webController =nil; self.navigationItem.backBarButtonItem = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Back" style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:nil action:nil]; } }

  • Application to download video from youtube

    - by Nidal Saed
    I making an application to view videos form youtube, and I think it is very easy to write a code to make the user be able download the videos and save it in the documents folder of the application, my questions are: 1) is it legal to do this, and is there any concern of the application being rejected? 2) is it possible to make the user watch the video and when he finish (watched all the video) get this data and save it, (not to download it again since he already watched the video and downloaded it).

  • How can I make a view get bigger again, as soon as the status bar goes back to normal height after a

    - by Thanks
    In the simulator I went to Hardware menu and activated the simulation of bigger status bar during phone call. Now, I tried to make a view in my nib that takes up the whole screen. As soon as the status bar gets smaller, I want my view to get bigger, so it uses that space up there. But regardless of any autoresizing settings, my view will keep pressed down after that status bar gets smaller. There is a empty slot left where the status bar was after hanging up the call. What's that actually supposed to be? Is my app recognizing the status bar as a view, or is the status bar indeed making my screen smaller? I mean...does it mess around with my views as if it was a view itself, or do my views not know about a status bar, but about a smaller screen size when the status bar gets bigger? How do you get your views big again when the status bar returns to normal height?

  • Scroll immediately to row in table before view shows

    - by cannyboy
    A view with a table gets pushed onto the screen and I want it to scroll to a certain row in the table before the screen actually displays. I use this code within the final viewcontroller. NSIndexPath *scrollToPath = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:5 inSection:0]; [theTable scrollToRowAtIndexPath:scrollToPath atScrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionTop animated:NO]; When I put it in viewDiDAppear method, then it briefly flashes from the intial position of the table (at the top) to the row I want. I don't want it to show the initial position. If I put it in viewDidLoad or viewWillAppear then it crashes with a NSRangeException, presumably because the table isn't set up yet. How would I get it to scroll without showing the initial position?

  • Changing UITableViewCell height on a grouped cell doesn't look good

    - by Sheehan Alam
    I have a UITableView with 3 sections. In the first section I have 2 grouped cells. I am modifying the first cell to be larger than the second. Though the first cell resizes, it seems to mess up the cell below it. How can I resolve this? - (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tblView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { CGFloat rowHeight; if(indexPath.section == kBioSection) { switch(indexPath.row) { case kBioSectionDescriptionRow: rowHeight = 100; break; } } else { rowHeight = 50; } return rowHeight; }

    Created a UITextField for "Postal Code/ZIP" field with a keyboardType of UIKeyboardTypeDefault. I would like to use the default keyboard but want the numbers & symbols to be shown by default as apposed to letters. Apple does this when you are entering addresses in the Contacts.app. Anyone know how to get this accomplished?

  • Difference between two UIScrollView delegates

    - by Michael
    scrollViewDidEndScrollingAnimation and scrollViewDidEndDecelerating Looks like the last one is called when the bouncing effect is finished. But can't really understand what's the difference between first because they are called same time(well, decelerating called first).

  • rotating UITableViewController manually

    - by lope
    Hi there, I am trying to do something I am not really sure is possible :) I have application that is in portrait mode and doesn't react to device rotation. Almost all parts of app work best in portrait so I disabled autorotation. But one part should be viewed in landscape. I just drawed my view rotated by 90 degrees and with this forced user to rotate device (again no autorotation). Everything was ok until I added UITableViewController that is invoked from this (and only from this) rotated view. Table view is of course in portrait mode, so user has to rotate device again, which is not really user friendly experience. My problem is, how to manually rotate table view so it is in landscape mode without using autorotation feature. I was able to rotate it using transform, but I can't position it properly. Is this right way of doing this or did I missed something that would make this trivial task? I don't want to use autorotation because both part are pretty separated from each other and each of them would be almost useless in other's mode

  • How to set the attributes of cell progamatically without using nib file ?

    - by srikanth rongali
    - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Uncomment the following line to display an Edit button in the navigation bar for this view controller. self.title = @"Library"; self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Close" style:UIBarButtonItemStyleBordered target:self action:@selector(close:)]; self.tableView.rowHeight = 80; } -(void)close:(id)sender { // } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; UILabel *dateLabel = [[UILabel alloc]init]; dateLabel.frame = CGRectMake(85.0f, 6.0f, 200.0f, 20.0f); dateLabel.tag = tag1; [cell setAccessoryType:UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator]; cell.contentView.frame = CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 320.0f, 80.0f); [cell.contentView addSubview:dateLabel]; [dateLabel release]; } // Set up the cell... //[(UILabel *)[cell viewWithTag:tag1] setText:@"Date"]; cell.textLabel.text = @"Date"; return cell; } But the control is not entering into the tableView: method. So I could not see any label in my table. How can I make this ? Thank You

  • plus minus table View cell

    - by user1748387
    I have the following code - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; UIImage * i1 = [UIImage imageNamed: @"inc_01.png"]; UIImage * i2 = [UIImage imageNamed: @"inc_02.png"]; UIImage * i3 = [UIImage imageNamed: @"inc_04.png"]; UIImage * i5 = [UIImage imageNamed: @"inc_05.png"]; UIImage * i6 = [UIImage imageNamed: @"inc_06.png"]; UIImage * i7 = [UIImage imageNamed: @"inchd.png"]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; } if(indexPath.row == 0) { UIImageView * header= [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage: i1]; cell.backgroundView = header; // Configure the cell… } else if (indexPath.row == 2) { UIImageView *backgroundCellImage=[[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 280, 11)]; backgroundCellImage.image=[UIImage imageNamed:@"inc_06.png"]; [cell.contentView addSubview:backgroundCellImage]; } else { // Configure the cell… UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage: i3]; cell.textLabel.text = @"text"; UIImageView *backgroundCellImage=[[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 57, 46)]; backgroundCellImage.image=[UIImage imageNamed:@"inc_02.png"]; UIImageView *backgroundCellImage2=[[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(223, 0, 57, 46)]; backgroundCellImage2.image=[UIImage imageNamed:@"inc_04.png"]; UILabel * label = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(57, 0, 166, 46)]; label.text = @"wow"; [cell.contentView addSubview:backgroundCellImage]; [cell.contentView addSubview:backgroundCellImage2]; [cell.contentView addSubview:label]; } return cell; } that basically creates a table view and puts an image to the left and right of each cell. I want it so that people can click on the left or right image in each cell, and something different happens based on the cell number. So if they click on the left image for cell in row 1, a function gets call with the row number they clicked on, and an indicator telling me they clicked on the left image and not the right image. How can I do that using objective-c?

  • How do I get a reference to a rootViewController to a sub-view?

    - by Andy
    An answer posted for one of my previous questions brings up another question; I am calling a new view controller, "RuleBuilder," from my rootViewController. The rootViewController holds a reference to a contacts array. How do I get a reference to that array into the RuleBuilder? I tried adding UITableViewController *rootViewController; ... @property (nonatomic, retain) UITableViewController *rootViewController; to RuleBuilder.h, and then @synthesize rootViewController; in RuleBuilder.m. When I instantiate and push the RuleBuilder from within rootViewController, I do this: ruleBuilder.rootViewController = self; But when I try this [rootViewController.contacts addObject:newContact]; from within RuleBuilder, I get a compiler error to the effect of "request for 'contacts' in something not a struct" (or very similar; I haven't implemented this exact snippet of code, but I tried an identical approach not an hour ago for a couple of different references that I never was able to get working). Thanks, again, for your help.
