  • Powermock Slows Down Test Startup on Eclipse/Fedora 10 when on NTFS partition

    I've just started having a proper play with Powermock and noticed that it slows down test startup immensely. A quick look at top while it was running shows that mount.nfts-3g was taking up most of the CPU. I moved Eclipse and my source directory to ext3 partitions to see if that was a problem and the tests now startup quicker but there's still a noticeable delay. Is this normal with Powermock or am I missing something obvious?

  • jquery and mobile browser compatiblity?

    I want to build a relatively simple version of my site for mobile phones but i will definately need javascript and jquery for many functions. Googling didn't help to find an answer. How is compatibility of jquery with popular browsers in mobile phones? I am talking for smartphones. For example the deafult browsers for these platforms Windows mobile 6+ Android 1.5+ iphone 3g and let's add opera mobile. Has anyone tried it?

  • increase ssh timeout

    I'm trying to connect to a mobile host connected over a 3G cell router from linux with ssh [email protected] -p 2200 and all I immediately get is (doesn't even seem to run into a timeout) ssh: connect to host 74.198.25.220 port 2200: Network is unreachable However, when I try the same IP on port 2200 with putty on Windows, it presents my with the password prompt just fine as I'd expect. What's going on here, do I need to increment my ssh timeout period to get this going or what? Thank you, Ron

  • How do I find out what android system icons mean?

    Ok, so I've got an andoid phone with a bunch of icons up the top, looks like app notifications go on the left, system icons go on the right. Most of the system icons seem reasonably intuitive, service, 3g, wireless etc. I've recently gotten a new one that looks like a phone being tilted / shaken and have absolutely no idea what it means.   • iPhone keeps going into dim/sleep mode even with the proper API calls.

    I call: [[ UIApplication sharedApplication ] setIdleTimerDisabled: YES ] on the applicationDidFinishLaunching event.. I set a breakpoint on it, which fires so I know it's getting called.. I've also called this function in other places as well.. Basically, a 3G iPhone will still go into sleep mode, but my 3GS won't. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Both are running the latest OS versions. Thanks for reading!

    Hi, i have problem trying to find out the default resolution of the images taken and saved by UIImagePicker. I'm trying to merge the photo taken and another image from my library and without knowing what's the size of the image, i'm not able to merge the 2 images correctly. Another question is that: are there different resolutions for the different iphones such as 2g, 3g or 3gs?

Also I'd like to know if by messing with all APN (adding a suffix to the "apn" and "type" fields to disable 3G/EDGE/GPRS connections , and the deleting this suffix ) , the preferred APN can be disrupted. Also if it need special settings in case an APN manipulation is desired.

  • Latency on mobile networks (Android)

I know latency over local wifi is probably fine but what are the issues with latency over GPRS/3G? I've searched and the best I've seen is someone saying it was 'high', without presenting any concrete numbers. I suppose latency fluctuations are important as well - does anyone have any info on this?

    Aircel, one of the leading wireless mobile services provider of India has just announced that iPhone 4S will be available to its customers on November 25. You can start pre-booking the phone from November 18 through Aircel website or walking into an Aircel showroom near you. My multiple calls to Aircel customer care division were no use to get the details on the price information. Three times the call got disconnected before a customer care executive tried fetching the details on price and models. We hear from BGR India blog that iPhone 4S price is going start at Rs. 40,000 for a 16GB model and may go up to Rs. 50,000 for a 64 GB model. Airtel, another leading mobile service provider in India, who sells iPhone in India is not sure when they are going to start offering iPhone 4S to its customer. I reached customer care regarding the iPhone 4S and they don’t have any details to offer at the moment. It’s good to see Apple releasing iPhone 4S to India markets just after couple of months of International release. Apple was earlier criticized for releasing iPhone 2, iPhone 3G in India almost an year after the international launch while companies like Nokia release their flagship models just after weeks of international launch. One of the most sought after feature of iPhone 4S is Siri and my friends in US told that it works amazingly good. Siri does not have any problem in understanding Indian English accent and it is very good at recognizing the Indian names in contacts list. But at the same time we do hear reports that Siri does not help much if it’s used outside USA. Considering that Siri is a software it should be possible for Apple to improve it to work better outside USA. But who know the priorities of Apple!   • Rotate haproxy logs

    I tried few things but still not able to rotate haproxy logs efficiently. I need to rotate logs when log files crosses 500 MB size. Considering haproxy is serving large no. of static tcp connections, I can not restart haproxy process though a reload is doable. Daily haproxy log file size normally crosses 3 GB on my machine.   • iPhone tethering via USB not working

    I can't get USB tethering to work. My setup: iMac with Mac OS 10.6.2 iPhone 3G, Sofware version 3.1.2 (Build 7D11) The phone shows up in iTunes and syncing works as it should. I went to System Preferences / Network and added the iPhone as a Network Service. To the right there is a status message for the selected service. With the iPhone not plugged in, the status message reads: Either the cable for iPhone is not plugged in or the device is not responding. With the iPhone plugged in, the status message reads: Either the cable for iPhone USB is not plugged in or the device is not responding. Almost identical messages, the only difference is "USB". Any clues?
