  • Fix for php 5.3.9 libxsl security "bug" fix

    just this morning i updated my debian server to php 5.3.9 , change log (last item in list) has a fix for this bug and now when running any hosted site using XSL transforms i get: Warning: XSLTProcessor::transformToXml(): Can't set libxslt security properties, not doing transformation for security reasons I'm not using any <sax:output> tags in my xslt at all. Does anybody have any information on this, current chatter about it is thin, so i'm i little lost. Using the suggestion about switching ini settings on and off either side of -transformToXml(): ini_set("xsl.security_prefs", XSL_SECPREFS_NONE) or $xsl->setSecurityPreferences(XSL_SECPREFS_NONE) brings me back to the same error Many thanks. Progress: - Upgrading libxml and recompiling libxslt against the new version was a good suggestion, though has not fixed the issue. - Compiling the latest php5.3 snapshot does not fix the issue. Solution: I'm unsure what actually solved this, very sorry for anyone else having the same problem. firstly i upgraded libxml, then applied a few patches, then went into php source for the xsl parser and added some debugging and a few tweaks, after a few compiles getting the configure args right the error went away and wasn't reproducible. I would definitely recommend upgrading libxml as Petr suggested below and then grabbing the latest snapshot from php.net.

  • Ubuntu 10.04 RGBA(Transparent theme) bug

    I tried to follow this tutorial frome ghacks.net. But I end up with a bug. Everytime I try to change the desktop background or the theme. It opens up lots of folders. And then close it back again. So I cannot do anything when I try to change the background or the theme to the default. Here is the tutorial And I can't even shutdown my machine now, please help. EDIT I tried executing these commands in the terminal sudo add-apt-repository ppa:erik-b-andersen/rgba-gtk sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get install gnome-color-chooser gtk2-module-rgba sudo apt-get install murrine-themes And it installed gnome color changer. It works, and the windows became transparent, but I can't change to the default theme and I can't put a background Here's the screenshot, when I try to change something in the preferences: Its just okay if I can't change the theme, but it won't let me change the background either. Or maybe the background is changed but its transparent just like the other windows. You can see that in the taskbar(or whatever its called in Ubuntu). Its full. What can I do to atleast make the background visible.

  • Apache directory authorization bug (clicking cancel gives acces to partial content)

    I got a minor problem (as the site is not high priority) but still a very interesting one. I have an apache root domain wherein other sites live "/var/www/" And I have foo.example.com forwarding to "/var/www/foo-example" (wordpress site) The problem here is that when you go to foo.example.com you are prompted to enter credentials. If you hit cancel it gives you the access denied page. But when you go to the servers' direct IP (this gives you the default index page) and hit cancel when prompted for credentials it just keeps giving you the login screen, and after pressing cancel a few times more it gives (a perhaps cached) bare html part of the page. How do I prevent this from happening? Perhaps this is a bug... Even if I would block access to the root directory when going to the ip/foo-example it would still do this. And I want to keep all the directories within the www directory or at least all in the same.   • iPhone all day meeting request bug?

    We've come across a bit of a weird bug in the office. our office is closing for a week or so over christmas, and our admin staff sent a meeting request to everyone in the office to go from 5pm on the 23rd of December until we return to work at 8.30 on the 5th. However there was some confusion, as if you look at the image below, the same meeting request is showing up with different start times for some people. While most people get the 5pm date, for others it shows up as an all day event! Staff have been planning their activities for the 23rd only to find out that their calendar is wrong and they are required to work. With some investigation, we noticed that all of the people with the incorrect time own iPhones or iPads. So perhaps they accepted the meeting on their phones, and it has put the meeting in wrong? There are people with the correct one that have iPhones, but perhaps they are on ios4 still, or perhaps they didn't accept the meeting request on their phone. has anyone else come across this error at all? is there a fix?

  • Agile bug fixing - what's the preferred process for testing?

    When a bug is fixed, the dev set its status to "resolved" and the bug is reassigned back to the person that created it. In our case this is usually the product owner - we don't have dedicated testers. But what's a good process for controlling how/when the PO tests the software? Should he be given the latest build after each bug is resolved/checked-in? Or what about every morning? Or should he only receive a build at (or close to) the end of the iteration, to include all of that iteration's new functionality and bug fixes? We are using TFS by the way.

  • Windows 7 Aero Theme Progress Bar Bug?

    I have ran into what I consider to be a progress bar bug on Windows 7. To demonstrate the bug I created a WinForm application with a button and a progress bar. In the button's 'on-click' handle I have the following code. private void buttonGo_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.progressBar.Minimum = 0; this.progressBar.Maximum = 100; this.buttonGo.Text = "Busy"; this.buttonGo.Update(); for (int i = 0; i <= 100; ++i) { this.progressBar.Value = i; this.Update(); System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(10); } this.buttonGo.Text = "Ready"; } The expected behavior is for the progress bar to advance to 100% and then the button text to change to 'Ready'. However, when developing this code on Windows 7, I noticed that the progress bar would rise to about 75% and then the button text would change to 'Ready'. Assuming the code is synchronous, this should not happen! On further testing I found that the exact same code running on Windows Server 2003 produced the expected results. Furthermore, choosing a non aero theme on Windows 7 produces the expected results. In my mind, this seems like a bug. Often it is very hard to make a progress bar accurate when the long operation involves complex code but in my particular case it was very straight forward and so I was little disappointed when I found the progress control did not accurately represent the progress. Has anybody else noticed this behavior? Has anybody found a workaround?

  • Java Scanner newline parsing with regex (Bug?)

    I'm developing a syntax analyzer by hand in Java, and I'd like to use regex's to parse the various token types. The problem is that I'd also like to be able to accurately report the current line number, if the input doesn't conform to the syntax. Long story short, I've run into a problem when I try to actually match a newline with the Scanner class. To be specific, when I try to match a newline with a pattern using the Scanner class, it fails. Almost always. But when I perform the same matching using a Matcher and the same source string, it retrieves the newline exactly as you'd expect it too. Is there a reason for this, that I can't seem to discover, or is this a bug, as I suspect? FYI: I was unable to find a bug in the Sun database that describes this issue, so if it is a bug, it hasn't been reported.     Hi all, Can other Safari users please test http://recaptcha.net/learnmore.html for me, to see if the audio reCaptcha plays properly? On my machine, I can only hear the audio if I click the Download sound as MP3 link. I also don't get the spoken introduction at all. It works OK in Firefox and Chrome. I was alerted to this bug on my own development site, using the Zend Service for ReCaptcha. However, if it's broken on the official site, then I guess it's not a Zend bug. There don't seem to be any JavaScript errors. Any ideas?

    Hello, I am trying to read command lien argument but it seems there is some kind of bug in .NET. The parameter which I pass to my console application /i "C:\Projects\PC\trunk\Simulator\PDF-Source\PDF-Source\bin\Debug\ConversionFiles\dummy.pdf" /o "result" CommandLine variable return three arguments, but I pass four and values of these arguments messed up. /i = true "C:\Projects\PC\trunk\Simulator\PDF-Source\PDF-Source\bin\Debug\ConversionFiles\dummy.pdf" = true /o = "result" As you see only the last argument is parsed corectlly.   • Bug in the official Android Fragments training sample?

    It seems to me that there must be a bug in the Android Fragments demo. As background, Fragments are apparently sometimes instantiated by the Android OS and thus need a public no-arg constructor: All subclasses of Fragment must include a public empty constructor. The framework will often re-instantiate a fragment class when needed, in particular during state restore, and needs to be able to find this constructor to instantiate it. If the empty constructor is not available, a runtime exception will occur in some cases during state restore. But the NewsReader demo from the official Android training on Fragments constructs the HeadlinesFragment class and configures it with setOnHeadlineSelectedListener(this) from NewsReaderActivity.onCreate(). If the Android OS re-instantiates this fragment, the mHeadlineSelectedListener field will be null because HeadlinesFragment doesn't save or restore its state. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

    Hello Stackoverflow Users, Today I've tested the Kohana3, which has been changed a lot. I'm working so much with the Auth Module, and need this in my new Project also. Now I found a Bug, I think it is a bug, what can I do? Problem: After I'm deleting a user from the Database, who is at this Moment logged_in() in my Website, and he is refreshing the page, he will be logged_in() as the first user out of the PRAEFIX_users Table. Even if he is deleted. And 99% this is an Administrator. My function which is checking and redirecting if he is not logged_in(): if(!Auth::instance()->logged_in()) { $this->request->redirect( 'login' ); } How can i change my Check Login so, that if he is deleted, he will be redirected to login (/login/) ? Here the same Thread at Kohana Forums, but I hope and think, stackoverflow is a litte bit faster :)

  • Xcode 5 new bug

    Since the recent IOS update last month I have been having issues with this new bug that has hampered my program. The bug is as follows: using a UIButton and I want to insert a value into it, only after my execution ends does a letter actually appear. But if I create a method during execution to tell me, using NSLog, what my properties contain then that letter I added never shows up. I'm thinking I need to find a way to refresh a property during execution instead in the end. For example: Let's say you want to insert the letter F into a UIButton. Immediately after writing F into that UIButton, look to see that F hasn't isn't in there. But it will only show up after that particular execution sequence finishes. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

  • Rewriting usort function because of fatal error (PHP bug)

    The two following usort functions throw fatal error Base lambda function for closure not found in our productive environment (PHP 5.4). This seems to be a known PHP bug that should be fixed by now (https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=52144), but it still occurs for us. Anyway, we unfortunately don't have time to figure out what's wrong with our PHP configurations etc. We would like to rewrite these two functions without the use of anonymous functions, so that the error doesn't occur anymore. Ordering of a multidimensional array ($array) by value of key "position": usort($array, function($a, $b) { return $a['position'] - $b['position']; }); Ordering of a multidimensional array ($array) according to the order of a second array ($position_order): usort($array, function($a, $b) use($position_order) { return (isset($position_order[$a['ftid']]) ? ($position_order[$a['ftid']] - $position_order[$b['ftid']]) : 1); }); Especially the latter causes some headache, as we don't know how to pass the "outside" array $position_order.

  • Enjoy bug fixing more than coding from scratch

    As I get more and more into my job I've had a lot of opportunity to code new projects from scratch. Almost every programmer I know really appreciates that opportunity. But the further I go into it, the more I enjoy bug fixing. In fact, if I can spend a whole day looking over code, whether it be mine or someone else's code, and find some obscure bug, I feel much more accomplished than when I create code. Does anyone else feel this way, and are there any job advantages to this?

  • A strange bug, is Mysql asynchronous?

    Hello, I have a strange bug. I launch a PHP Unit test Suite. At the beginning, it executes a big query to initialize the database. If I put a breakpoint just after the execution of the sql, there is no problem and my tests pass. If I don't put any break point, they don't pass and say that the tables don't exist! It works as if the sql query was asynchronous! Do you have an idea of the bug? Or how to debug that? Thanks a lot in advance for your help, I'm lost! Farf

MySQL for Excel is an application plug-in enabling data analysts to very easily access and manipulate MySQL data within Microsoft Excel. It enables you to directly work with a MySQL database from within Microsoft Excel so you can easily do tasks such as: Importing MySQL Data into Excel Exporting Excel data directly into MySQL to a new or existing table Editing MySQL data directly within Excel MySQL for Excel is installed using the MySQL Installer for Windows. The MySQL installer comes in 2 versions   Full (150 MB) which includes a complete set of MySQL products with their binaries included in the download Web (1.5 MB - a network install) which will just pull MySQL for Excel over the web and install it when run.   You can download MySQL Installer from our official Downloads page at http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/installer/. MySQL for Excel 1.1.3 introduces the following features:   Upon saving a Workbook containing Worksheets in Edit Mode, the user is asked if he wants to exit the Edit Mode on all Worksheets before their parent Workbook is saved so the Worksheets are saved unprotected, otherwise the Worksheets will remain protected and the users will be able to unprotect them later retrieving the passkeys from the application log after closing MySQL for Excel. Added background coloring to the column names header row of an Import Data operation to have the same look as the one in an Edit Data operation (i.e. gray-ish background). Connection passwords can be stored securely just like MySQL Workbench does and these secured passwords are shared with Workbench in the same way connections are. Changed the way the MySQL for Excel ribbon toggle button works, instead of just showing or hiding the add-in it actually opens and closes it. Added a connection test before any operation against the database (schema creation, data import, append, export or edition) so the operation dialog is not shown and a friendlier error message is shown.   Also this release contains the following bug fixes:   Added a check on every connection test for an expired password, if the password has been expired a dialog is now shown to the user to reset the password. Bug #17354118 - DON'T HANDLE EXPIRED PASSWORDS Added code to escape text values to be imported to an Excel worksheet that start with an equals sign so Excel does not treat those values as formulas that will fail evaluation. This is an option turned on by default that can be turned off by users if they wish to import values to be treated as Excel formulas. Bug #17354102 - ERROR IMPORTING TEXT VALUES TO EXCEL STARTING WITH AN EQUALS SIGN Added code to properly check the reason for a failing connection, if it's a failing password the user gets a dialog to retry the connection with a different password until the connection succeeds, a connection error not related to the password is thrown or the user cancels. If the failing connection is not related to a bad password an error message is shown to the users indicating the reason of the failure. Bug #16239007 - CONNECTIONS TO MYSQL SERVICES NOT RUNNING DISPLAY A WRONG PASSWORD ERROR MESSAGE Added global options dialog that can be accessed from the Schema Selection and DB Object Selection panels where the timeouts for the connection to the DB Server and for the query commands can be changed from their default values (15 seconds for the connection timeout and 30 seconds for the query timeout). MySQL Bug #68732, Bug #17191646 - QUERY TIMEOUT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED IN MYSQL FOR EXCEL Changed the Varchar(65,535) data type shown in the Export Data data type combo box to Text since the maximum row size is 65,535 bytes and any autodetected column data type with a length greater than 4,000 should be set to Text actually for the table to be created successfully. MySQL Bug #69779, Bug #17191633 - EXPORT FAILS FOR EXCEL FILES CONTAINING > 4000 CHARACTERS OF TEXT PER CELL Removed code that was replacing all spaces typed by the user in an overriden data type for a new column in an Export Data operation, also improved the data type detection code to flag as invalid data types with parenthesis but without any text inside or where the contents inside the parenthesis are not valid for the specific data type. Bug #17260260 - EXPORT DATA SET TYPE NOT WORKING WITH MEMBER VALUES CONTAINING SPACES Added support for the year data type with a length of 2 or 4 and a validation that valid values are integers between 1901-2155 (for 4-digit years) or between 0-99 (for 2-digit years).   • Space bar and arrow keys on Radio buttons trigger TypeError: Error #1009

    I've just discovered a bug in my app, it looks like a Flash player bug, i would like to know if anyone has found a workaround or something. I've some radio buttons groups in my app. If I press the arrow keys while holding the spacebar pressed, it ends up triggering TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at fl.controls::LabelButton/drawIcon() at fl.controls::LabelButton/draw() at fl.controls::RadioButton/draw() at fl.core::UIComponent/callLaterDispatcher() If found this thread that describes my same situation. Do you think there's any workaround for this? Is it really a flash bug?

  • OpenOffice 3 takes forever to open

    I'm on Fedora 14, and OpenOffice 3.3.0 takes a long time to open (about 30 seconds, sometimes less). It isn't a CPU or disk performance issue, it's just simply a very long delay before the program opens. It appears to be a frivolous network connection timing out. According to Wireshark, it tries to look up: dulcimer.(none) which fails, after which it tries to look up: dulcimer.(none).mylitestream.com (dulcimer is my hostname, and LiteStream is my ISP) Is there a way to work around this bug in OpenOffice?
