    What would a simple unit test look like to confirm that a certain controller exists if I am using Rhino Mocks, NUnit and ASP.NET MVC 2? I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept of TDD, but I can't see to figure out how a simple test like "Controller XYZ Exists" would look. In addition, what would the unit test look like to test an Action Result off a view?

    say in my ListView say with 4 columns (Description, Price Per Unit, Quantity, Total Price). I would like to make the third column editable, and embedded NumericUpDown control for the Quantity column. Is it possible? And when the Quantity is updated via the NumericUpDown control, the Total Price is also being updated based on Total Price = Quantity * Price Per Unit. is the above achievable? any code samples would be greatly appreciated.

And when I run my unit tests, I do not want to read any excel file into a data-table -or any call to Db-. So, I would like to have method that returns a data-table with the values that I can use in my test.     I'm trying to define and use my own foreach function. This is in the middle of a larger block of code. But the essence of the error I'm getting is this: test_2.scala:32: error: type mismatch; found : (A, A) = Unit required: Function2 $amount.foreach( (k:A,v:A) = { How is this error conceivably possible? Isn't (A, A) => Unit always a subtype of Function2 regardless of what else might be going on in the code?

  • How to integrate Purify into Hudson CI?

    Hello everybody! I have a Hudson CI system set up and for the moment it is used for building a project and running some unit tests. My next step is to integrate the memory leak detector Purify into the build cycle. Now I want to start the unit tests also inside purify and for this I have created a new batch task which runs following command: purify.exe /SaveTextData MyExecutable.exe --test TestLibrary.dll --output xml As I read in the Purify documentation the /SaveTextData option is used in order to run purify not in GUI mode. If I run this command on my local workstation in the command line it works perfectly. But in case it is started by Hudson, nothing happens. Unfortunetly there are no logs of purify... Has someone ever tried to start purify either by Hudson or any other CI system? Thanks in advance. Best regards Martin EDIT: I forgot to tell you, that I have Hudson running as master and slave on different computers. On the master I have configured a task which should start the unit tests within purify on the slave. I am running the slave via JNLP.   • PHPUnit won't run tests by directory

    I'm new to PHP, trying to get multiple tests to run at once. I was hoping to just run all tests in a directory, which seemed to work awhile (instead of using a phpunit.xml). I am able to run a test individually like so: phpunit FirstUnitTest sites\all\modules\experiment\unit-tests\FirstUnitTest.lua But when I try to run the same test by directory, its not found. I try using: phpunit sites\all\modules\experiment\unit-tests Does anyone know why this may not work?

    Using XScalaWT, this compiled under Scala 2.7: class NodeView(parent: Composite) extends Composite(parent) { var nodeName: Label = null this.contains( label( nodeName = _ ) ) } With 2.8.0 RC1, I get this error: type mismatch; found : main.scala.NodeView required: org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Label The types are: label(setups: (Label => Unit)*)(parent: Composite) : Label contains(setups: (W => Unit)*) : W So it looks like _ now binds to the outer function instead of inner. Is this change intentional?

Currently, I'm doing this manually (Run symfony doctrine:build --all before each test). Can someone provided me a correct way to do this?

I got everything to work and it is deserialized perfectly (almost). The problem I have is with the random text mixed throughout the child nodes. The generated verse-unit objects gives me a list of objects (begin-line, begin-block-indent, etc), and also another list of string objects that represent the bits of string throughout the xml.     Disclaimer: absolute novice in Scala :( I have the following defined: def tryAndReport(body: Unit) : Unit = { try { body } catch { case e: MySpecificException => doSomethingUseful } } I call it like this: tryAndReport{ someCodeThatThrowsMySpecificException() } While the call to someCodeThatThrowsMySpecificException happens just fine, the exception is not being caught in tryAndReport.   • Where is the VB.Net debugger "Make Object ID" function?

    When using the visual studio 2008 debugger with c# i can right-click on a variable and choose "Make Object ID" which allows me to watch that object (via it's ID) regardless of whether it is in the current stack frame or not. When the debugger is in VB code, (doesnt matter if it's run from a c# unit test or a vb unit test) That option isn't there. Where did VB put this feature? Or does it simply not support it like so many other helpful c# features?

    I have an identity mapping like so: Id(x => x.GuidId).Column("GuidId") .GeneratedBy.GuidComb().UnsavedValue(Guid.Empty); When I retrieve an object from the database, the GuidId property of my object is Guid.Empty, not the actual Guid (the property in the class is of type System.Guid). However, all of the other properties in the object are populated just fine. The database field's data type (SQL Server 2005) is uniqueidentifier, and marked as RowGuid. The application that is connecting to the database is a VB.NET Web Site project (not a "Web Application" or "MVC Web Application" - just a regular "Web Site" project). I open the NHibernate session through a custom HttpModule.     I think the concept of Python's doctests is brilliant, and as a C++ programmer at a real-time shop, I'm quite jealous. We basically have no unit test capability, which is a severe hindrance. I've seen C++Unit, etc, but is there anything that can extract test cases out of comments like Python's doctests rather than putting them in the code directly?

  • How to suppress all Warnings

    The unit tests for a product that I am taking over have not been kept up with during the products development and they are very broken. I am trying to fix them as an exercise to become familiar with the code. However, the all the deprecation warnings are a PITA as they interfere with the display of the test results. Is there a way to suppress the warnings when I execute the unit tests? Thanks!
