• Determining when a sound above a certain frequency is played on iPhone

  I'm wondering what's the easiest/best way to determine if a sound, being recorded on the iPhone mic, is above a certain frequency. My guess is that I would need to use the Audio Queue Services since I don't need to record the audio to a file. I'm using SDK 4.0, so I can use the FFT functions in the Accelerate framework if needed.

  can i call helper functions inside controller classes? let's say i have this controller with the _open_form method class User extends Controller { function _open_form($action){ print_r(form_open($action)); } } i tried echoing out the result of form_open() but it returns null. it seems that helper functions can't be called inside controllers if your wondering why i need to use it inside the controller instead in the view because we are required to use the given template parser xD

• Is Md5 Encryption Symmetric or Asymmetric?

  For my iPhone application, Apple wants to know if my password encryption (md5) is greater then 64-bit symmetric or greater then 1024-bit symmetric. I have not been able to find it online, so I am wondering if anyone knows the answer. The data is accessed from an AppWidgetProvider (similar to a BroadcastReceiver), and any given instance of the widget displays different data based on appWidgetId.   I'm developing a form generator, and wondering if it would be bad mojo to store JSON in an SQL database? I want to keep my database & tables simple, so I was going to have `pKey, formTitle, formJSON` on a table, and then store {["firstName":{"required":"true","type":"text"},"lastName":{"required":"true","type":"text"}} in formJSON. would this slow down the DB server too much to set live? • Active Directory lookup works in IE but fails in FireFox

  I'm using IIS 5.1 on my local dev machine and I have changed IIS to run using my domain account and configured ASP.NET with impersonate = true. I am able to query my local AD to get information perfectly fine using IE (IE 7.0) but when I use FireFox (3.6.3) it fails with a really un-helpful COM error. I was wondering if anyone else had come across this and knows how to fix this?

  Whenever we make a release of a project we'll create a tag to capture the snapshot. It will be very helpful to be able to see which revisions in the trunk history were used in certain releases. I know the TortoiseSVN revision graph shows this information, but I'm wondering if there's a way to see it in the command-line svn log?
