  I'm currently learning OpenGL and haven't been able to find an answer to this question. After the projection matrix is applied to the view space, the view space is "normalized" so that all the points lie within the range [-1, 1]. This is generally referred to as the "canonical view volume" or "normalized device coordinates". While I've found plenty of resources telling me about how this happens, I haven't seen anything about why it happens. What is the purpose of this step?

• /manual/cache folder on my server?

  Hi all, On our site's server, once managed by someone who's no longer with us, there's a folder named "/manual/cache" which contains txt files named+like+this, mostly using pornographic-related keywords. The content is mainly spam-like gibberish. My assumption on the matter is that it's somehow used to spam search engines, but I might be wrong, which is the reason of my question here. Any idea what it might mean/contain? As an additionnal note, the person's hiring period oddly correspond to the dates of the files, which seem to have automagically stopped being generated after the date we parted ways.

  I remember doing this a long time ago and have forgotten how I had done it. I like to do this when I have long html or php files to edit and I need part of the code from further down the file in a place nearer to the top, or when I want to compare different parts of the same file. There was a way to do this without opening two instances of Notepad++ and when I clicked on save, it made the saved changes in both instances of the opened file (whereas if I have 2 windows of Notepad++ opened simultaneously, it will prompt me to either update or not update the second opened instance if the first one was saved midway.)

  Hi, I need to evacuate 2 Datastores. Now the only things on those 2 datastores are 4 replica / source machines. These are productive ones which means, there are a lot of linked clones linked to these replicas. So there is no way to recompose these ones. If I would unprotect the entity the linked clones wouldn´t work anymore right? Is there a way to move the replicas to another datastore without "killing" the linked clones?

• getJSON not working if the mvc model view controller has a parameter

  I'm having an issue with a callback. I'm not even getting an error in Firebug. If I alert before and after the getjson call both alerts show but the getjson call doesn't fire. public ActionResult TestPage() { return View(); } public ActionResult LoadMapLonLats(int mapId) { //some code return Json(_myMaps); } $("#Search").click(function() { $.getJSON("LoadMapLonLats", { mapId: 73 }, loadDbMap); }); function loadDbMap(maps) { alert('m'); $.each(maps, function(i) { alert(maps[i]); }); } As long as I leave TestPage without a parameter is works. If I add a parameter to TestPage(int id) then the call back to LoadMapLonLats doesn't work. Seems odd. Of course TestPage is the page I'm loading so I need to do some work here before rendering the page. Not sure why adding a parameter to the view would break the callback to another function. //this breaks he callback to LoadMapLonLats public ActionResult TestPage(int id) { return View(); } Any ideas? Seems like this may be related, if not sorry I can post a new thread.

• android app working on simulator but not on phone

  i have this app that i developed and it works great on the simulator with no errors what so ever. but the moment i try to run the same on the phone for testing, the app crashes stating filenotfoundexception. it says the file /res/drawable/divider_horizontal.9.png is missing. but actually speaking, i have never referenced that file through my code. i believe its a system/os file that is unavailable. i have a custom list view, i guess its the divider there... could somebody please suggest what is wrong here. i believe this is a similar issue discussed here..but i am unable to make   Hi I'm using a xslt based dataview webpart the steps i have taken to create a data view webpart is that 1. added a list view webpart on the page 2. Modified the toolbar property to show fulll toolbar 3. open the web page containing above list view webpart in sharepoint desginer and converted it to xslt based webpart (to make further changes in UI) 4. saved the page and previewed in browser in browser web part was throwing the error while i was able to see it properly in desginer witout any error the error maesseged shown in webpart was: ** Unable to display this Web Part. • Where should 'CreateMap' statements go?

  I frequently use AutoMapper to map Model (Domain) objects to ViewModel objects, which are then consumed by my Views, in a Model/View/View-Model pattern. This involves many 'Mapper.CreateMap' statements, which all must be executed, but must only be executed once in the lifecycle of the application. Technically, then, I should keep them all in a static method somewhere, which gets called from my Application_Start() method (this is an ASP.NET MVC application). However, it seems wrong to group a lot of different mapping concerns together in one central location. Especially when mapping code gets complex and involves formatting and other logic. Is there a better way to organize the mapping code so that it's kept close to the ViewModel that it concerns? (I came up with one idea - having a 'CreateMappings' method on each ViewModel, and in the BaseViewModel, calling this method on instantiation. However, since the method should only be called once in the application lifecycle, it needs some additional logic to cache a list of ViewModel types for which the CreateMappings method has been called, and then only call it when necessary, for ViewModels that aren't in that list.)

• Why Does the iPad Main View Refuse to go FullScreen?

  I am doing an imaging app for iPad and it requires use of the entire screen. The approach I have used on iPhone does not appear to work on iPad. In Interface Builder I have set the UIToolbar to translucent.This code echos the dimensions of the main view before and after requesting fullscreen. • Android: how to tell if a view is scrolling

  in iPhone, this would be simple---each view has a scrollViewDidScroll method. I am trying to find the equivalent in Android. My code works, but it isn't giving me what I want. I need to execute code the entire duration that a view is scrolling. So, even though I use OnGestureListener's onScroll method, it only fires when the finger is on the screen (it's not really named correctly---it should be called "onSlide" or "onSwipe", focusing on the gesture rather than the UI animation).   How do you set the initial view for the model in an SKP file created with the SkpWriter in Google Sketchup C++ SDK? There has been an example in an older version of the SDK. Part of the source is posted here. I'm trying to use: m_pDoc->GetModel()->SetCamera(cameraDefn); The problem is that I'm not able to create a valid atlast::sketchup::CCameraDefinition. Non of the examples in the above post works: atlast::sketchup::CCameraDefinition cameraDefn; cameraDefn.Set(atlast::geometry::CPoint3d(793.838, -1262.6, 2603.16), atlast::geometry::CPoint3d(567.977, 338.199, 398.932), atlast::geometry::CUnitVector3d(-0.112657, 0.798459, 0.591415)); and: atlast::sketchup::CCameraDefinition cameraDefn; cameraDefn.Set(atlast::geometry::CPoint3d(793.838, -1262.6, 2603.16), atlast::geometry::CPoint3d(567.977, 338.199, 398.932), atlast::geometry::CUnitVector3d(-0.112657, 0.798459, 0.591415)); In the end I want the initial view to be the view you get from pressing the icon for Zoom extents followed by the Iso icon (the other way around is also ok). Right now I would settle for creating a valid atlast::sketchup::CCameraDefinition. Any better way to achieve this in the SKP-file?
