  • Loading an NSArray on iPhone from a dynamic data base url in PHP or ASP

    - by Brad
    I have a database online that I would like to be able to load into an NSArray in my app. I can use arrayWithContentsOfURL with a static file, but I really need to go to a url that generates a plist file from the database and loading it into the array. I can use ASP or PHP. I tried setting the response type to "text/xml", but that doesn't help. Any thoughts?

  • How to move a kinect skeleton to another position

    - by Ewerton
    I am working on a extension method to move one skeleton to a desired position in the kinect field os view. My code receives a skeleton to be moved and the destiny position, i calculate the distance between the received skeleton hip center and the destiny position to find how much to move, then a iterate in the joint applying this factor. My code, actualy looks like this. public static Skeleton MoveTo(this Skeleton skToBeMoved, Vector4 destiny) { Joint newJoint = new Joint(); ///Based on the HipCenter (i dont know if it is reliable, seems it is.) float howMuchMoveToX = Math.Abs(skToBeMoved.Joints[JointType.HipCenter].Position.X - destiny.X); float howMuchMoveToY = Math.Abs(skToBeMoved.Joints[JointType.HipCenter].Position.Y - destiny.Y); float howMuchMoveToZ = Math.Abs(skToBeMoved.Joints[JointType.HipCenter].Position.Z - destiny.Z); float howMuchToMultiply = 1; // Iterate in the 20 Joints foreach (JointType item in Enum.GetValues(typeof(JointType))) { newJoint = skToBeMoved.Joints[item]; // This adjust, try to keeps the skToBeMoved in the desired position if (newJoint.Position.X < 0) howMuchToMultiply = 1; // if the point is in a negative position, carry it to a "more positive" position else howMuchToMultiply = -1; // if the point is in a positive position, carry it to a "more negative" position // applying the new values to the joint SkeletonPoint pos = new SkeletonPoint() { X = newJoint.Position.X + (howMuchMoveToX * howMuchToMultiply), Y = newJoint.Position.Y, // * (float)whatToMultiplyY, Z = newJoint.Position.Z, // * (float)whatToMultiplyZ }; newJoint.Position = pos; skToBeMoved.Joints[item] = newJoint; //if (skToBeMoved.Joints[JointType.HipCenter].Position.X < 0) //{ // if (item == JointType.HandLeft) // { // if (skToBeMoved.Joints[item].Position.X > 0) // { // } // } //} } return skToBeMoved; } Actualy, only X position is considered. Now, THE PROBLEM: If i stand in a negative position, and move my hand to a positive position, a have a strange behavior, look this image To reproduce this behaviour you could use this code using (SkeletonFrame frame = e.OpenSkeletonFrame()) { if (frame == null) return new Skeleton(); if (skeletons == null || skeletons.Length != frame.SkeletonArrayLength) { skeletons = new Skeleton[frame.SkeletonArrayLength]; } frame.CopySkeletonDataTo(skeletons); Skeleton skeletonToTest = skeletons.Where(s => s.TrackingState == SkeletonTrackingState.Tracked).FirstOrDefault(); Vector4 newPosition = new Vector4(); newPosition.X = -0.03412333f; newPosition.Y = 0.0407479f; newPosition.Z = 1.927342f; newPosition.W = 0; // ignored skeletonToTest.MoveTo(newPosition); } I know, this is simple math, but i cant figure it out why this is happen. Any help will be apreciated.

  • Start one functon after another finished iphone

    - by user295944
    I have a function that updates the gps coordinate lat and long then sends a tweet with the lat and long info attached. I want the function to wait until the lat and long are filled before the tweet goes through but it seems to do both at the same time so the lat and long don't get filled in. How do I make the gps location update first?

  • How can I consolidate deferred/delayed calls in Objective-C ?

    - by thrusty
    I'd like to ensure that certain maintenance tasks are executed "eventually". For example, after I detect that some resources might no longer be used in a cache, I might call: [self performSelector:@selector(cleanupCache) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.5]; However, there might be numerous places where I detect this, and I don't want to be calling cleanupCache continuously. I'd like to consolidate multiple calls to cleanupCache so that we only periodically get ONE call to cleanupCache. Here's what I've come up with do to this-- is this the best way? [NSObject cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget:self selector:@selector(cleanupCache) object:nil]; [self performSelector:@selector(cleanupCache) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.5];

  • Android Load Camera image as Bitmap

    - by GuyNoir
    I am using BitmapFactory.decodeFile to load Bitmaps of images into my application. However, the function returns null on large images (such as those from the camera). The filepath is definitely correct, I just can't figure out why it would return null. I tried supersampling, but it didn't seem to help. Does anyone have any idea why it would do this or how I could more easily load images taken from the camera into a Bitmap? Thanks.

  • Personalized UIView created with Interface Builder

    - by Malox
    I need to project a personalized UIView with a UIImageView and 3 UILabel. I need to allocate more of this view because I want put it into a UIScrollView. I would avoid to generate the view programatically because it's difficult and boring design it. My idea is to create a new class that extends UIView and design it with interface builder. For example my Personalized View code is like that: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface PersonalizedPreview : UIView { IBOutlet UIImageView *image; IBOutlet UILabel *first_label; IBOutlet UILabel *second_label; IBOutlet UILabel *third_label; } -(void) setImage:(UIImage *)image; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIImageView *image; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UILabel *label; .... @end I would create an associated xib file for this view and initialize it simply specifing the xib file. Note that I don't want create a specific ViewController for this view and PersonalizedView is instantiate at runtime not when the app runs, moreover I don't know how many PersonalizedView I will instantiate, it depends on runtime execution. Anyone can help me? Thank you very much.

  • Another warning question: "Incompatible intiger to pointer conversion assigning to 'int *' from 'int'"

    - by Preston
    I have yet another pesky warning I would like gone. Basically, I have an int declared like this: @property (nonatomic, assign) int *myInt; and set like this: myInt = 0;. It is also synthesized in the implementation file. I am getting a warning on the line where I set the int's value and it says "Incompatible intiger to pointer conversion assigning to 'int *' from 'int'." What should I do to fix this?

  • Create a view like Tweetie's User Profile view

    - by Graeme
    Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea on how you can create a view that looks like the user profile view in apps like Tweetie, where there are seemingly multiple tables with a couple of normal (straight up and down tables) and then two rows of six cells, which in Tweeties case have the number of followers, following etc. I'm trying to make a similar view for my app, but can't seem to find out the best way to create it. Any tutorials, advice etc. would be appreciated. Thanks. P.S. Here's a picture of the view which I'm trying to recreate.

  • Android OS 2.2 Permissions: I have absolutely no idea why this simple piece of code doesn't work. Wh

    - by Kevin
    I'm just playing around with some code. I create an Activity and simply do something like this: long lo = currentTimeMillis(); System.out.println(lo); lo *= 3; System.out.println(lo); SystemClock.setCurrentTimeMillis(lo); System.out.println( currentTimeMillis() ); Yes, in my AndroidManifest.xml, I've added: <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.SET_TIME"></uses-permission> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.SET_TIME_ZONE"></uses-permission> Nothing changes. The SystemClock is never reset...it just keeps on ticking. The error that I'm getting just says that the permission "SET_TIME" was not granted to the program. Protection level 3. The permissions are there...and in the API for 2.2 it says that this feature is supported now. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. If android.content.Intent; comes into play, please explain. I don't really understand what the idea behind intents! Thanks for any help!

  • Possibility of a custom Contacts field with a set list of values and Contacts lookup performance

    - by areyling
    I'm pretty sure it's not viable to do what I'd like to based on some initial research, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask the community of experts here in case someone knows a way. I'd like to create a custom field for contacts that the user is able to edit from the main Contacts app; however, the user should only be allowed to select from a list of four specific values. A short list of string values would be ideal, but an int with a min/max range would suffice. I'm interested in knowing if it's possible either way, but also wondering if it make sense to go this route performance wise. More specifically, would it be better to look up a contact (based on a phone number) each time a call or SMS message is received or better to store my own set of data (consisting of name, numbers, and the custom field) and just syncing contact info in a thread every so often? Or syncing contacts the first time the app is run and then registering for changes using ContentObserver? Here is a similar question with an answer that explains how to add a custom field to a contact. Thanks in advance.

It prints nil in console screen.... If I can make it visible in History class, I display those selected items on table. Please help me !!!

  • No Debug information of an iPhone app

    - by Markus Pilman
    Hi all, I wrote an iPhone app which uses a third party library. I crosscompiled this library successfully and everything works smoothly. But when I want to debug the application, it would make sense to also be able to debug the library. So I compiled also the external library with debuging information (usign the gcc option -ggdb). But when I want to debug it, I get the correct symbol names, but the positions are always wrong/extremly wierd (locale_facets.tcc:2505 or iostream:76). For example a stack trace could look like this: #0 0x000045e8 in zorba::serialization::SerializeBaseClass::SerializeBaseClass () at iostream:76 #1 0x0001d990 in zorba::RCObject::RCObject () at iostream:76 #2 0x00025187 in zorba::xqpStringStore::xqpStringStore () at iostream:76 #3 0x000719e4 in zorba::String::String () at locale_facets.tcc:2505 #4 0x00030513 in iphone::iLabelModule::getURI (this=0x533f710) at /Users/sausalito/eth/izorba/sandbox/ilabel.cpp:19 #5 0x00356766 in zorba::static_context::bind_external_module () at locale_facets.tcc:2505 #6 0x0006139d in zorba::StaticContextImpl::registerModule () at locale_facets.tcc:2505 #7 0x000333e5 in -[ZorbaCaller init] (self=0x53405c0, _cmd=0x95583398) at /Users/sausalito/eth/izorba/sandbox/ZorbaCaller.mm:61 #8 0x00033180 in +[ZorbaCaller instance] (self=0x11dc2bc, _cmd=0x93679591) at /Users/sausalito/eth/izorba/sandbox/ZorbaCaller.mm:37 #9 0x0003d998 in -[testOne execute:] (self=0x530d560, _cmd=0x9366b126, sender=0x5121da0) at /Users/sausalito/eth/izorba/sandbox/generator/testOne.mm:13 #10 0x01a21405 in -[UIApplication sendAction:to:from:forEvent:] () #11 0x01a84b4e in -[UIControl sendAction:to:forEvent:] () #12 0x01a86d6f in -[UIControl(Internal) _sendActionsForEvents:withEvent:] () #13 0x01a85abb in -[UIControl touchesEnded:withEvent:] () #14 0x01a3addf in -[UIWindow _sendTouchesForEvent:] () #15 0x01a247c8 in -[UIApplication sendEvent:] () #16 0x01a2b061 in _UIApplicationHandleEvent () #17 0x03b6fd59 in PurpleEventCallback () #18 0x034a8b80 in CFRunLoopRunSpecific () #19 0x034a7c48 in CFRunLoopRunInMode () #20 0x03b6e615 in GSEventRunModal () #21 0x03b6e6da in GSEventRun () #22 0x01a2bfaf in UIApplicationMain () #23 0x0002dd7e in main (argc=1, argv=0xbffff044) at /Users/sausalito/eth/izorba/sandbox/main.m:16 Does anybody have an idea, where these wrong locations come from?

  • How can I simply change a class variable from another class in ObjectiveC?

    - by Daniel
    I simply want to change a variable of an object from another class. I can compile without a problem, but my variable always is set to 'null'. I used the following code: Object.h: @interface Object : NSObject { //... NSString *color; //... } @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString* color; + (id)Object; - (void)setColor:(NSString*)col; - (NSString*)getColor; @end Object.m: +(id)Object{ return [[[Object alloc] init] autorelease]; } - (void)setColor:(NSString*)col { self.color = col; } - (NSString*)getColor { return self.color; } MyViewController.h #import "Object.h" @interface ClassesTestViewController : UIViewController { Object *myObject; UILabel *label1; } @property UILabel *label1; @property (assign) Object *myObject; @end MyViewController.m: #import "Object.h" @implementation MyViewController @synthesize myObject; - (void)viewDidLoad { [myObject setColor:@"red"]; NSLog(@"Color = %@", [myObject getColor]); [super viewDidLoad]; } The NSLog message is always Color = (null) I tried many different ways to solve this problem, but no success. Any help would be appreciated.

    - by peter61
    For one of my applications in xcode, I have the option to build for many different versions ranging from 3.0 to 3.1.3. Now when I make a new application, I only have the option to build this new application for 3.1.3. I can't seem to find where this project setting is. How can I build my application for 3.0? Thanks.
