  • Send serialised object via socket

    Whats the best way to format a message to a server, at moment I'm serilising an object using the binaryformatter and then sending it to the server. At the server end its listening in an async fashion and then when the buffer size recieved is not 100% it assumes that the transfer has complete. This is working and the moment, and I can deserialise the object at the other end, I'm just concerned that if I start sending async this method will fail has message's could be blurred. I know that I need to mark the message somehow as to say that's the end of message one, this other bit belongs to message 2, but I'm unsure of the correct way to do this. Could anyone point me in the right direction and maybe give me some examples? Thanks

    I get a segfault when trying to memset an array of chars that was allocated statically, but not for an array of the same length that was allocated using malloc. variable definitions: //static char inBuff[IN_BUFF_LEN]; //dynamic char * inBuffD; function call: //static, cast used because char** != char (*) [n] serverInit(portNum, (char**) &inBuff, &serv_addr, &sockfd) //dynamic serverInit(portNum, &inBuffD, &serv_addr, &sockfd) use within the function: memset(*inBuffAdr, 0, IN_BUFF_LEN); I suspect that my problem is in the difference of the function calls, or to be more precise, my incomplete understanding of the "char** != char (*) [n]" situation. But I have been banging at this for too long and can't see the forest from the trees so any hints and advice would be very appreciated.

When the array is constructed, instead of using it as a pointer, JavaScript calls my function. Why? What mistake, misconception do I have?

  • Fill business object from database by calling stored procedurs?

    Hello, I have several stored procedures in my database, some of them have params, some have no params. I tried to fill a business object by calling the stored procedures, but failed so far. How could I do that dynamically? Later, I want to use this object as a datasource for a report...but thats the next step. The important facts are: different stored procs return different amount of columns stored procs can have params, but its not required How could I achieve that? Thanks :)

    I want to save a 2D array to a CSV file with row and column "header" information (like a table). I know that I could use the header argument to numpy.savetxt to save the column names, but is there any easy way to also include some other array (or list) as the first column of data (like row titles)? Below is an example of how I currently do it. I need to attach the id of the business to the row of photos. That is to say the first row in the matrix {10,23,16,20,2,4} has 4 numbers from arr, this array should be grouped with the rest of the rows with 4 numbers from arr. better to use linq, thank you very much!

    Hello. I'm using Core Data and I'm trying to figure out the simplest way to store an array of integers in one of my Core Data entities. Currently, my entities contain various arrays of objects that are more complex than a single number, so it makes sense to represent those arrays as tables in my DB and attach them using relationships. If I want to store a simple array of integers, do I need to create a new table with a single column and attach it using a one-to-many relationship? Or is there a more simple way? There are about 6 of them and are hand-coded (i.e not fetched from a db) so they are likely to remain the same for a while. However, I need to get the number 3. So, when there are two things on the same position (same key) count it only once. Is it possible to merge/count elements in arrays like that?

    I was wondering what could be the size of an object of an empty class. It surely could not be 0 bytes since it should be possible to reference and point to it like any other object. But, how big is such an object? I used this small program: #include <iostream> using namespace std; class Empty {}; int main() { Empty e; cerr << sizeof(e) << endl; return 0; } The output I got on both Visual C++ and Cygwin-g++ compilers was 1 byte! This was a little surprising to me since I was expecting it to be of the size of the machine word (32 bits or 4 bytes). Can anyone explain why the size of 1 byte? Why not 4 bytes? Is this dependent on compiler or the machine too? Also, can someone give a more cogent reason for why an empty class object will not be of size 0 bytes?

    Hello, I'm making a hit counter. I have a database and I store the IP and $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; of the visitors. Now I need to add a filter, so I can put away the hits, that are made by bots. I found out, that many bots usually keep some common words in the $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; , so I's like to make and array of words, that would keep the bot from displaying in the results. Here is what I have now: while($row = mysql_fetch_array($yesterday, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { <-- Here I need a code, that would run through an array and check, if it containts the keywords and if it doesn't ... just count++; -- } Also if you know any other way of detecting and removing the bots from the results, I'd be verry thankful.
