  • Glob function (c) and backup file (file~)

    I'm using glob function for a autocompletion function. I'm showing you the problem because it's difficult to explain: matched = ~/.tcsh glob(matched, 0, NULL, &pglob); glob put all matched files in a char ** and when I print it I have: case[0] = .tcshrc case[1] = I should have .tcshrc~ in case[1], but nothing =S, I've seen a flag "GLOB_TILDE" like this " glob(matched, GLOB_TILDE, NULL, &pglob); But it doesn't change anything! Can someone help me?

    A Day in the Life of an Oracle OpenWorld Attendee Part III My second full day started with me waking up and realising that I was supposed to meet my friend Tejas Joshi (co-author of the Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Handbook) at the station in 20 minutes!  Needless to say I didn’t make it, but then I felt better later when I found out he had caught the wrong shuttle bus and ended up at the airport instead of the BART! The morning was spent in the Authors Seminar arranged to give authors a whirlwind tour of Oracle Product updates and strategy plans.  It was useful to see what was happening in areas I knew little or nothing about.  In the afternoon I wandered around Java One, a very different show to OpenWorld with much more bleeding edge stuff and just plain blue sky thinking.  Of course who couldn’t love a show with a full size Duke wondering around and available for photographs. Attended a presentation on a highly available Weblogic JMS environment wich did a great job of laying out to architect a highly available solution. Dinner with customers and then collapsed exhausted into bed!

  • Indicator menu require long press to open

    I am using 11.10 on my laptop and have a following issue: If I single click on items in notification area (or indicators), like messaging menu, sound menu, calendar, a menu appears and disappears as soon as mouse button is released. I need to do a long press then move pointer to menu area to be able to select items in it. Any clues to fix it? P.S. This is a fresh install but my home folder (thus settings) were restored from previous Ubuntu installation.

    I am trying to do something very simple in powershell Reading the contents of a file Manipulation some string Saving the modified test back to the file function Replace { $file = Get-Content C:\Path\File.cs $file | foreach {$_ -replace "document.getElementById", "$"} |out-file -filepath C:\Path\File.cs } I have tried Set-Content as well. I always get unautorized exception. I can see the $file has the file content, error is coming while writing the file. Any help is appreciated. Ben

  • firefox open local link to directory with explorer

    On a Website for our internal use i show links to local files and folders. the links are like this: href="file://C:/example/" href="file://C:/example/test.odt" The Problem is now that the link to the directory does open in firefox itself with a useless directory listing. Useless because you can just see the files or open them but not copy, insert, delete... The link to the file work normal and the file is opend by OpenOffice. By changing the configuration of firefox and setting the following key to false I can open the directory in with explorer.exe but for the file I have to choose the right application. network.protocol-handler.expose.file Does someone know a way to get both to work like i want? Means that the Directory is shown by explorer.exe and all files are opened by the right application. This can be by configuring Firefox or windows, changing the links, or even by writing a small program which opens all the file protocol correctly and will be used as protocol handler for the file protocol in firefox.   • How to identify doc, ppt, xls files

    So I was wondering how would you differentiate ppt, xls and doc files from each other in linux regardless of extensions. I tried 'file' but from the looks of it, all of MSOffice files are categorized under the same file type. Similarly I'm having trouble with docx, xlsx and pptx files, since they're essentially all zip files containing a bunch of xml. Thank you for your help! P.S. I also tried a python script importing the magic module, but no go.

  • Online Image Slideshow Question. File Access Problems.

    Hi, I have a flash .swf file that I embed on my webpage. On my server I have the .swf file and multiple image folders. I would like to load every file in one of those folders into the flash slideshow. How should I go about doing this? I tried used Air but it doesn't work on my system as an application so I doubt it will work online. Eventually I plan on making a menu where you can select different folders to display and since they are of different sizes, a foreach loop would be optimal. Keeping a txt file with the number of images is also possible if theres a way to read that in, but I would prefer the more dynamic approach. I am working towards using php for the website if that helps find a solution. Thanks, -Mike Also my slideshow works great online currently but i have to hardcode in the number of files.
