    Hi, I need to build a component which would take a few XML documents in input and check the following kind of rules: XML1:/bookstore/book[price>35.00] != null and (XML2:/city/name = 'Montreal' or XML3://customer[@language] contains 'en') Basically my component should be able to: substitute the XML tokens with the corresponding XML document(before colon) apply xpath query on this XML document check the xpath output against expected result ("=", "!=", "contains") follow the basic syntax ("and", "or" and parentheses) tell if the rule is true or false Do you know any library which could help me? maybe JavaCC?   • After opening a mdb in a working copy

    Hallo all, In my institute, Tortoise is employed for the purpose of version control. I find, if a mdb file which belongs to the working copy of a project reporitory is opened thru Access, the ordinary will be labelled with an explamation mark. Since the database has not been modified, I don't unterstand why Tortoise regards the opening as a kind of modification. Thanks in advance for any tips. John

    I am looking for a way to implement "View as HTML" (as seen in e.g. GMail) for Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF documents stored in an intranet. Can anyone recommend approaches for this? The intranet consists of multiple .NET sites, so I would prefer a .NET library (one that doesn't launch MS Word on the server) for this capability, but any kind of arrangement is welcome.

  • Validation and Firefox's input caching

    When you refresh/reload a page or use the back button, Firefox is kind enough to repopulate your inputs with what was entered before you navigated away. Though this is a nice feature it does not trigger my jquery validation and the unsaved changes warning I add to my pages. Is there a way to either disable this feature in Firefox (without renaming every control every time) or capture the firefox events?

  • How faster is using an internal IP address instead of an external one?

    I have a mailing list application that sends emails through several dedicated SMTP servers (running Linux Debian 5 and Postfix) in the same network of a hosting company. However, the application is using the servers' external IP addresses in order to connect to them over SMTP, and I was wondering what kind of improvement would be obtained if the application used the internal IP addresses of the servers instead?     These questions are a kind of game, and I did not find the solution for them. It is possible to write ::: in Cpp without using "" or anything like this and the compiler will accept it. (macro-s are prohibited too) And the same is true for C# too, but in C#, you have to write ???. I think Cpp will use the :: scope operator and C# will use '? :' , but I do not know the answers to them. Any idea?

I'm not using Stored Procedures - the queries are inline using Coldfusion. I think I need to create some indexes but I'm not sure what kind (clustered, non-clustered) and on what columns. Thanks

    What kind of Kernel error can cause the cpu to go into a shut down state? I'm doing a homework assignment in OS, and we did changes in sched.c (adding a new scheduling policy, which involved ading another prio_array to the queue and switching between them when needed). Processes using this policy cause the cpu to enter a shut down state when they finish. Any suggestions where to look?

    In Symfony i just have to create models with ORM Designer and export it to symfony as a schema.yml and then use a symfony command to create tables, models and forms. I wonder if there is an equivalent to the RoR so that you dont have to create models manually by hand? It saves a lot of time using GUI for this kind of tasks and it is less error-prone. thanks

I'd like to provide Linq capabilities to the "data consumer" and forward the query to the "data storage". The forwarded query should be some structured query (like, let's say, NHibernate Criteria). Is there any existing structured query library that could allow me to "just" translate a Linq Expression to such a structured query?

    I'm trying to learn and understand more about mapping and displaying values on a map. (GIS) At the moment I'M looking to take some values and apply those values to a tile or bin on a map. Ideally I'd like the tile sizes to be uniform, like 100 meters, 500 meters, etc. Is there a standard method for creating uniform tile sizes? Or Are what are common accepted method to deal with this kind of data display? (Currently I'm using geodjango and it's related toolset geos, proj4, etc)

    My custom callback class implements AsyncCallback (like MyAsyncCallback implements AsyncCallback) and planning use single instance of MyAsyncCallback for multiple rpc method executions. Is this approach safe?. Or should have to create new instance of MyAsyncCallback for every interaction from browser to server?. I am kind of tired of seeing so many anonymous AsyncCallback code blocks. Thanks for your input
