  • How can I manipulate a VB6 Collection in .NET?

    - by jhominal
Hello all, I am currently in the process of designing an interface for .NET software that would be consumed by COM objects - specifically, VB6. While I have found a number of pages by Microsoft detailing how to make an COM-interoperable interface, I am currently tripping over the use of Collections in design time: I would like to be able to use a standard VB6 "Collection object" in the .NET program - for example, specify an argument as being a VB6 collection - and thus minimize the time necessary for clients to consume the interface. Thank you in advance.

  • Automaticly Change VisualState in Silverlight

    - by Matt
If you create a simple button and then choose Edit Template - Edit a Copy, Blend will automatically generate a style area, along with all the button states (MouseEnter, MouseLeave, Pressed, etc). No where in the generated code does it say that on a "MouseOver" event, change the state to "MouseOver", but it still manages to work! How does a standard button do it? Is there some sort of AutoEventWireUp going on?

  • Apple script Editor, write message to the "Result" window

    - by Patrick
I am using the Mac OS X Apple Script Editor and (while debugging) instead of writing a lot of display dialog statements, I'd like to write the results of some calculation in the window below, called "Result" (I have the German UI here, so the translation is a guess). So is there a write/print statement that I can use for putting messages in the "standard out" window? I am not asking to put the messages in a logfile on the file system, it is purely temporary.

  • RFCOMM Before Android 2.0?

    - by Brad Hein
I have several apps which I wrote using the standard SDK. They all connect to RFCOMM devices using bluetooth, so at present, I can only support devices which are 2.0 or newer. What options are available for backporting a bluetooth app to pre-2.0 apps while re-writing as little code as possible? Thank you.

  • SVN: and bash: How to tell if there are uncommitted changes

    - by fishtoprecords
I'm trying to wrap a standard sequence of steps in a shell script (linux/bash) and can't seem to figure out how to tell of the execution of svn status returned anything. For example ~/sandbox/$svn status ? pat/foo ~/sandbox/$echo $? 0 If I delete the foo file, then the svn status return nothing, but the echo $? is still 0 I want to not do some steps if there are uncommitted changes. Pointers greatly appreciated.

  • How to deal with JSON output that might be an array, or might be a value

    - by Summer
Hi - I'm getting JSON-encoded output from another organization's API. In many cases, the output can be either an array of objects (if there are many) or an object (if there's just one). Right now I'm writing tortured code like this: if ( is_array($json['candidateList']['candidate'][0]) ) { foreach ($json['candidateList']['candidate'] as $candidate) { // do something to each object } } else { // do something to the single object } How can I handle it so the "do something" part of my code only appears once and uses a standard syntax?

  • Win32 C/C++ Load Image from memory buffer

    - by Bruno
I want to load a image (.bmp) file on a Win32 application, but I do not want to use the standard LoadBitmap/LoadImage from Windows API: I want it to load from a buffer that is already in memory. I can easily load a bitmap directly from file and print it on the screen, but this issue is making me stuck :( What I'm looking for is a function that works like this: HBITMAP LoadBitmapFromBuffer(char* buffer, int width, int height); Thanks.

  • c++ object sizes

    - by anon
Suppose I have: struct Foo: public Bar { .... } Foo introduces no new member varaibles. Foo only introduces a bunch of member functions & static functions. Does any part of the C++ standard now guarantee me that: sizeof(Foo) == sizeof(Bar) ? Thanks!

  • Change library load order at run time (like LD_PRELOAD but during execution)

    - by tylerl
How do I change the library a function loads from during run time? For example, say I want to replace the standard printf function with something new, I can write my own version and compile it into a shared library, then put "LD_PRELOAD=/my/library.so" in the environment before running my executable. But let's say that instead, I want to change that linkage from within the program itself. Surely that must be possible... right?

  • Is there a recommended logging path/folder for ASP.NEt applications?

    - by the-locster
Currently we use log4net and create a new folder (usually below C:) with write and create access rights for the worker process user. Is there perhaps a standard windows folder we should or could be using such as LOCALAPPDATA? I'm guessing that LOCALAPPDATA is a bad choice in the general case because IIS users tend to be non-interactive users and thus I don't think they have the usual user folder structrues available.

  • Convert string to char

    - by Orsol
Hi. I get from another class string that must be converted to char. It usually contains only one char and that's not a problem. But control chars i receive like '\n' or '\t'. Is there standard methods to convert this to endline or tab char or i need to parse it myself?

  • How can I apply a theme/style to an Action android

    - by skooter
    In Android, how can I apply a style to an API action? I am using the RingtoneManager.RINGTON_PICKER action to let the user select an alarm, and would like to apply the standard theme that the other child-activities use. Does anyone know how I can apply a theme? The code I'm using to open the RINGTONE_PICKER is Intent intent = new Intent(RingtoneManager.ACTION_RINGTONE_PICKER); ((Activity)mContext).startActivityForResult(intent, BackendConstant.RINGTONE_CODE);

  • Regular expressions in c++ STL

    - by Radek Šimko
Is there any native library in STL which is tested and works without any extra compiler options? I tried to use <regex>, but the compiler outputs this: In file included from /usr/include/c++/4.3/regex:40, from main.cpp:5: /usr/include/c++/4.3/c++0x_warning.h:36:2: error: #error This file requires compiler and library support for the upcoming ISO C++ standard, C++0x. This support is currently experimental, and must be enabled with the -std=c++0x or -std=gnu++0x compiler options.

  • Creating vCard file in .NET Compact Framework (C#)

    - by Will
Hi, Is there a built-in way to create vCard files in the .NET Compact Framework? If not, what is a good library for this? I have found this one which after some adaptations would seems to be able to do the job on the Compact Framework: http://thoughtproject.com/Libraries/vCard/index.htm But I'm not sure if there is not a build-in or more standard way to do it. Regards, Will

  • magento _redirect with parameters that have + or /

    - by epeleg
seems like a call to $this->_redirect('*/*/myaction',$myargs); does not properly escape the arguments so if $myargs=array(p1=>'string that has + or / within it') the created URL will be something like: ..../myaction/?p1/string%20that%20has%20+%20or%20/%20within%20it causing the getParams collection on the action to have p1 with value 'string that has or ' <- plus sign missing and value broken and ' within it' with no value or something similar. is there any standard way I should handle the arguments before passing them to _redirect ? • Change size of a custom page in Inno Setup

    - by Paja
The following image shows the size of a standard custom page: I've intentionally removed the panel on top, where you usually see Caption, Description and Logo. So you can see that the actual size of the page is quite small - there are gaps on top, left and right sides. Is there any way to resize the page, so there are no gaps? I want the image to take the whole space. I create the page using CreateCustomPage function.

  • Android: Learning the platform, have any app suggestions?

    - by David
I'm beginning to learn mobile programming on the Android platform. I'm up for working with any particular base SDK. I just want to hear some suggestions from the community about what types of applications I should start with to help learn more advanced interactions with the platform. There are of course the Standard Hello World, calculator, etc. But by now I am bored with all of those. What do you all make when learning a new language?
