• How to chain GRUB2 for Ubuntu 10.04 from Truecrypt & its bootloader (multi boot alongside Windows XP partition)?

  I want Truecrypt to ask for password for Windows XP as usual but with the standard [ESC] option, on selecting that, i.e via Escape key, I want it to find the grub for the (unencrypted) Ubuntu install. I've installed Windows XP on the 120Gb hard drive of a Toshiba NB100 netbook then partitioned to make room for Ubuntu 10.04 and installed that after the Windows XP install. When I encrypt Windows XP, Truecrypt will overwrite the grub entry in the master boot record (MBR), I believe (?) and I won't be able to choose between XP and Ubuntu anymore. So I need to restore it back. I've searched fairly extensively for answers on Ubuntu forums and elsewhere but have not yet found a complete answer that covers all eventualities, scenarios and error messages, or otherwise they talk of legacy GRUB and not GRUB2. Ubuntu 10.04 uses GRUB2. My setup: Partitions: Windows XP, NTFS (to be encrypted with Truecrypt), 40Gb /boot (Ext4, 1Gb) Ubuntu swap, 4Gb Ubuntu / (root) - main filesystem (20gb) NTFS share, 55Gb I know that the Truecrypt boot loader replaces the GRUB when boot up because I've already tried it on another laptop. I want boot loader screen to look something like the usual: Truecrypt Enter password: (or [ESC] to skip) password is for WindowsXP and on pressing [ESC] for it to find the Ubuntu grub to boot from Thanks in advance for your help. The key area of the problem is how to instruct Truecrypt when escape key is pressed, and how the Grub/Ubuntu can be made visible to the truecrypt bootloader to find it, when the esc key is pressed. Element 'sequence' is invalid, misplaced, or occurs too often. and becuase of those 2 errors, i am getting loads of the same error. This is becuase the attribute id of the festival tag may be empty becuase there is not data for that festival cvc-datatype-valid.1.2.1: '' is not a valid value for 'integer'. cvc-attribute.3: The value '' of attribute 'id' on element 'festival' is not valid with respect to its type, 'integer'.   Right so i am working with hibernate gilead and gwt to persist my data on users and files of a website. my users have a list of file locations. i am using annotations to map my classes to the database. i am getting a org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException when i try to add file locations to the list that is held in the user class. this is a method below that is overridden from a external file upload servlet class that i am using. when the file uploads it calls this method. the user1 is loaded from the database elsewhere. the exception occurs at user1.getFileLocations().add(fileLocation); • Postgres cannot connect to server

  Super stumped by why Postgres isn't working on a new app I just started. I've got it working for one app already. I'm using postgres.app, and it's running. I started a new app with rails new depot -d postgresql and then I went into the database.yml file and changed username to my $USER (which is what it is for the other app, which is working). Specifically, another java application adds or removes records from the database, but the web application never sees these updates. This is quite a serious issue. I must be missing something basic. If I remove the Connection Pool from the implementation, the web application sees the updates. It's as if the web application's commits are never called on the Connection. • Issues dismissing keyboard conditionally

  I have an app that has a username and password field. I want to validate the input before the the user is allowed to stop editing the field. To do that, I'm using the textFieldShouldEndEditing delegate method. If the input doesn't validate I display a UIAlertView. This approach works as advertised - the user cannot leave the field if the input doesn't validate. To have the done button on the keyboard dismiss the keyboard, I call resignFirstResponder on the textfield. The issue I have is the alert is being called twice. How do I keep the alert from showing twice? edit for clarification What is happening is that the alert appears, then another alert appears. I then have to dismiss both windows to fix the input. • .htpasswd under IIS - does it work?

  I'm trying to password protect a directory on a server that's running IIS. I've put the following in the .htaccess file in that directory - AuthName "Restricted Area" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile /path/.htpasswd AuthGroupFile /dev/null require valid-user I've tried a whole bunch of different paths and although it's asking for a username and password it won't take it. I've tried using the path provided by _SERVER["PATH_TRANSLATED"] but that's no help either. Is this a problem with my path, or does IIS just not support .htpasswd?

• Manifest or Theme/Style for a IWebBrowser2 control?

  The IWebBrowser2 control has password edit boxes which are squares. This happened many years ago if you were on an XP machine, and you had a password edit field without a manifest file, you would get squares (no character found for the * they put in there with that font). My application has a manifest file. However I don't know how to give a manifest or set the theme or style of the control that is created. Any ideas? Thanks!

  I am using this tutorial to create a login form http://www.ryancoughlin.com/2008/11/04/use-jquery-to-submit-form/ It authenticates against w/ our ldap server. What I am having a problem with is the line success: function(){ $('form#submit').hide(function(){$('div.success').fadeIn();}); It runs success even though we don't even know if the username and password binded successfully. Is there a way to only run success if the username and password posted was binded successfully?
