  • C# syntax to get access to webcontrol in different file (aspx)

    Within my Website project, I have some aspx pages, javascript files, and a custom C# class I called MyCustomReport. I placed a Image box with an ID of Image1 inside SelectionReport.aspx. I need to get access to that Image1 inside MyCustomReport.cs so I can turn it on and off based on conditions. What code do I need to do this? Thanks everyone

    Can I name a custom column in the SELECT statement and reference that in the WHERE clause without duplicating code? For example; SELECT RIGHT(REPLICATE('0', 5) + RTRIM(SOME_ID)), 5) AS DISPLAY_ID FROM dbo.MY_TABLE WHERE DISPLAY_ID LIKE '%005%' Only much more complicated. I want to maintain this code in one place only but SQL Server 2005 forces me to duplicate the custom SELECT in the WHERE clause. I believe this was possible in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 but no longer in 2005. Thanks.

  • VB6 debugging- doesn't go to error handling code.

    Hi, I'm maintaining a vb6 project(ActiveX DLL). When debugging, the app run into the following function: Public Function HasValue(ByVal vValue) As Boolean On Error GoTo Err If IsMissing(vValue) Then HasValue = False ElseIf IsNull(vValue) Or Len(vValue) = 0 Then HasValue = False ElseIf isEmpty(vValue) Then HasValue = False Else HasValue = True End If Exit Function Err: If IsArray(vValue) Or IsObject(vValue) Then HasValue = True Else HasValue = False End If End Function and it stops at the line ElseIf IsNull(vValue) Or Len(vValue) = 0 Then vValue is a custom object, contains some properties(obviously, not null). Although I didn't put any break point there, the app stopped there and alerted error dialog saying that "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method". We had error handling code but the app didn't run to error handling code. It just stopped at the line causing the error and I had to stop the application. Do you have any idea about that?     In x86 GNU Assembler there are different suffixes for memory related operations. E.g.: movb, movs, movw, movl, movq, movt(?) Now my question is the following: Does the suffix has ANY effect on how the processor is getting the data out of main memory or will always be one or more 32-bit (x86) chunks loaded into the cache ? What are the effects beside the memory access?

    Question With the following linq code snip I get a list of clients with address filtered by the specifications but the form of the entities returned is not what i had expected. The data is 1 client with 2 addresses and 1 client with 1 address. The query returns 3 rows of clients each with 1 address Client 1 = Address1 Client 1 = Address2 Client 2 = Address3 var query = from t1 in context.Clients.Where(specification.SatisfiedBy()).Include("ClientAddresses") join t2 in context.ClientAddresses.Where(spec.SatisfiedBy()) on t1.ClientKey equals t2.ClientKey select t1; My expectation was a little more like a list with only two clients in it, one client with a collection of two addresses and one client with a collection of one address. Client 1 = Address1 / Address2 Client 2 = Address3 What am I missing??? Thanks!

The line pointed to by the error contains the following statement: ostrstream strDestXML; How do I solve this?

    In VB6, users occasionally receive this error and I am unable to reproduce it. Run-Time Error '5': Invalid Procedure Call or Argument I am referencing the "MSWord 10 Object Library" and sometimes this error occurs at some point after the application has opened MSWord 2002. However, this app has referenced the MSWord 10 Object Library for years, and this error just started occurring in the last few months. I am assuming I have introduced a bug somewhere, but no idea what might be causing it. The error does not occur very often and cannot be reproduced by a user when I am standing there. The error forces the app to totally shut down. Users are running Windows XP

    Hi, I would like to know how can I embedd a code source file (if possible), something like that: class X { include "ClassXsource" } My second question - Can I build DLL or something like that for my colleagues to use? I need them to be able to call methods from my "part" but do not modify or view their content.     Yesterday I asked a question on how to re-write sql to do selects and inserts in batches. I needed to do this to try and consume less virtual memory, since I need to move millions of rows here. The object is to move rows from Table B into Table A. Here are the ways I can think of doing this: SQL #1) INSERT INTO A (x, y, z) SELECT x, y, z FROM B b WHERE ...     Hello i am new to rails. I am learning rails 2.3.5 and checked rails 3. I found some features added in rails 3. thats perfectly fine. But i found something different. in 2.3.5 we use ruby script/server to start the server and in rails 3 we use rails server and there are some other changes like this.     i have a script, to open a model window, but it wont work. google chrome give me "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token }", but on a line that doesnt even have a closing curly brace. here is my script: function showm(id1){ window.onscroll=function(){document.getElementById(id1).style.top=document.body.scrollTop;}; document.getElementById(id1).style.display="block"; document.getElementById(id1).style.top=document.body.scrollTop; } does anybody have any ideas on this? any help is appreciated.

  • Programming terms - field, member, properties (C#)

    Hi, I was trying to find meaning of this terms but especially due to language barrier I was not able to understand what they are used for. I assume that "field" is variable (object too?) in the class while "property" is just an object that returns specific value and cannot contain methods etc. By "member" I understand any object that is declared on the class level. But these are just my assumptions based on commented code samples where some careful programmers used "property region" etc. I would really appreciate if someone could explain it to me.

    Hi guys, I have an issue with a query I'm trying to run on some data, I guess the place to start is to describe the data. Ok so I have a list of email addresses, each email address has a unique ID and an account ID Also in my tables I have a set number which auto incrememnts, this will allow me to target duplicate email addresses What I need to do is something like this. Insert into duplicates (EMAIL,ACCOUNTID,ID) SELECT Email,AccountID,ID FROM EmailAddresses Group by Email,AccountID Having Count(email)>1 Order by AccountID, Email So essentially I want to select all duplicate email addresses and insert them (and their relative fields) into a new table broken down by accountID so I can run some further querys on it. I have been battling with this for way too long and could just use a fresh perspective. Cheers in advance
