I could not get let-syntax to provide the same functionality. Currently I use plt scheme, but would like to see answers in different lisp implementations as well.

  I used code:blocks as the C++ IDE on Windows. I switched to netbeans 6.8 (with C/C++ plugin, MinGW, MSYS) recently, because netbeas have the nice feature of "checking syntax errors when typing" (same as working on Java or PHP projects). But the painful thing is that, it takes 2 seconds to compile a simple hello world project in netbeans. Any trick to make it as fast as code:blocks, or at least make the compiling time no more than 0.5 second?

There are some sites that say I need a plugin, and others that suggest that it's already possible.   I have a problem as I'm conditionally including the Prototype-based Lightbox script for IE6 as it works better than the jQuery plugin. Of course the two libraries conflict but the official solution is not really feasible for me as i would have to replace tons of $ with the alternative no-conflict syntax. Is there any other solution for me, keeping in mind that in my case it would be easier to have Prototype work nicely with jQuery than the other way around?
