  • GWT Animation final value is not respected

    I have a FlowPanel that I'm trying to animate back and forth like an iphone nav. (See this post for my original question on how to do this) So I have it "working" with the code shown below. I say working in quotes because I'm finding that my final position of my scroller is not precise and always changes when scrolling. The GWT.log always says the actual values I'm looking for, so for instance with the call below to scrollTo, my GWT.log says: ScrollStart: 0 scrollStop: -246 But when I actually analyze the element in fireBug, its css, left position is never exactly -246px. Sometimes it's off by as much as 10px so my panel has just stopped scrolling before being finished. The worst part is that this nav animates back and forth, so subsequent clicks can really throw it off, and I need pixel perfect positioning otherwise the whole things looks off. I don't even know where to start with debugging this other than what I've already done. Any tips are appreciated.   • PostgreSQL - best way to return an array of key-value pairs

    I'm trying to select a number of fields, one of which needs to be an array with each element of the array containing two values. Each array item needs to contain a name (character varying) and an ID (numeric). I know how to return an array of single values (using the ARRAY keyword) but I'm unsure of how to return an array of an object which in itself contains two values. The query is something like SELECT t.field1, t.field2, ARRAY(--with each element containing two values i.e. {'TheName', 1 }) FROM MyTable t I read that one way to do this is by selecting the values into a type and then creating an array of that type. Problem is, the rest of the function is already returning a type (which means I would then have nested types - is that OK? If so, how would you read this data back in application code - i.e. with a .Net data provider like NPGSQL?) Any help is much appreciated.

    I have tab delimited data with multiple columns. I have OS names in column 31 and data bytes in columns 6 and 7. What I want to do is count the total volume of each unique OS.   • VBA Tab Key putting actual Tab Value in Text Box instead of navigating to next control

    I have a VBA form (in Excel if that matters) that contains text boxes. On three occasions, I have found myself pressing the tab key to navigate to the next control, but instead an actual TAB is being put in the text box. The form normally acts as it should, but it does concern me that this gremlin is showing up sporadically. It has shown up on Office 2003 as well as Office 2007 on two different computers. Has anyone else encountered this problem and, if so, how did you fix it?

    I'm trying to create a single query which, similar to stack overflow, will give me the number of votes, but also make sure that the currently viewing user can't upvote again if they've already upvoted. my query currently looks like SELECT cid, text, COUNT(votes.parentid) FROM comments LEFT JOIN votes ON comments.cid=votes.parentid AND votes.type=3 WHERE comments.type=0 AND comments.parentid='$commentParentid' GROUP BY comments.cid But I'm completely stumpted on how to add the check to see if the userid is in the votes table. The other option is to add a seperate query where SELECT COUNT(*) FROM votes WHERE userid='$userid' AND parentid='$commentParentid' AND type=3 I'm just realizing I'm so lost with this that I don't even really know what tags to provide.

    Hi, I'm just starting out in learning Ruby and I've written a program that generates some numbers and assigns them to variables @one, @two, @three etc. The user can then specify a variable to change by inputting it's name (e.g one). I then need to do something like '@[valueofinout] = asd'. How would I do this, and is there a better way as the way I'm thinking of seems to be discouraged? I've found x = "myvar" myvar = "hi" eval(x) -> "hi" but I don't completely understand why the second line is needed.     I'm having trouble with what I think is a basic R task. Here's my sample dataframe named 'b' Winner Color Size Tom Yellow Med Jerry Yellow Lar Jane Blue Med where items in the Winner column are factors. I'm trying to change "Tom" in the dataframe to "Tom LLC" and I can't get it done. Here's what I tried: Simple way: b$winner[b$winner=='Tom'] = as.factor('Tom LLC') but that failed with "invalid factor level, NAs generated" Next I tried a more advanced route: name_reset = function (x, y, z) { if (x$winner == y) {x$winner = z} } b = adply(b,1,name_reset,'Tom','Tom LLC') but that failed with "Error in list_to_dataframe(res, attr(.data, "split_labels")) : Results are not equal lengths" I feel I'm missing something basic.
