I am pretty proficient with C, and freeing memory in C is a must.
However, I'm starting a new C++ project, and I've heard some things about how you don't need to free memory using shared pointers and other things.
Where should I read about this? Is this a valuable replacement for proper delete C++ functionality? How does it work?
Is it possible to have a connection to LotusNotes and use it as a data source for a C# project?
We use LN for email/calendar. Management wants a web page that would interact with the calendar. I think this can all be done within Notes, but I would much rather do it in .NET.
Some very specific functionality is wanted, some of which I'm not really sure can even be done in Notes.
Is it allowed by the Boost License to just add the source code of the stuff I need to my project (accompanied by the license of course?). I couldn't find any "descriptive" confirmation. I would have seperate Include/boost and Source/boost directories for easy access.
PS: Seeing as boost::filesystem is going into C++0x TR2, and lambda's are already in c++0x TR1, I don't see any reason to be juggling with C functions like realpath, getcwd and the like. They don't work well anyways...
I want to create a custom sharepoint site where I can use the 'Project Tasks' Template but additionally, allow users to attach documents to each task ah-la the Document Library template. How do I do this? do I need to use Sharepoint Designer?
I must have done something wrong. I have a C# project in Visual Studio 2008. All of a sudden I see a lock on my classes and when I hover the class names on the top tab I see the class name as : C:\Myprojects\Oder.cs[Read Only] !
Has something weird like that happened to you before ?
Thanks
I need to get a complete project recursively as it existed on a specified date in the past. How can I do that without having to look at and selectively recover each individual file? Source Safe 8.0
packaged maven project contains META-INF/manifest.mf file and in field "Built-by" is login name of current user.
Where or what to set name of author, so maven will use this instead of login name?
Does anyone have an example nant build file to build an MVC2 project? I'm not sure whether you can use msbuild or whether you have to use aspnet_compiler or if nant will just handle it.
Thanks
Hey, guys!
I found javascript is not so easy to master. And I want to dive into it. I think learning by using is a good way. Since javascript is different from other C-style language, what kind of project is good for learning?
Thanks.
In a rails project how would I create a picture slideshow? It could be generated as flash or use prototype or something else.
I just want a series of images (as a sub-part of a web page, not be the whole page) to fade into each other, and to advance manually if clicked. It would be nice if I could do things like slowly zoom into the images
I imagine there must be a plugin or something to handle this?
I have a pretty standard project with Spring Security.
I have a login form and I need to add 'Remember me' checkbox there. How can I do that?
I can provide some code if necessary.
I am a senior in Computer Science. I want to be part of some open source project. I don't know what's available out there. Can anybody guide me?
I'm good with Java, not that great with C and C++, but I know both. I also know some Cincom Smalltalk.
Or if anyone has something good that they're working on I could help.
In XCode is it possible to build a clean version of my project and remove any saved property lists associated with it?
I'm refactoring my code constantly and the old property list that gets saved is causing my app to crash because the data has become old and rotten.
Hi,
I have a newbie question,, how do i add a string template to the views folder in a .net mvc project?
i have added a reference to StringTemplate.dll and antlr.runtime.dll but seems that is not enough. i.e. when i right-click on views and choose Add New Item i can't find a file with .st extension in the list that i get...
how do i achieve that?
Thanks a million in advance
I am working on a solution, most of its core engine is developed as Win32 C++ (and is Platform independent and is also used on OS X), some time ago we needed to call C++ dll's of core engine from C# and I was able to Load main solution's DLL in C# (by the help of some threads here on SO). but now we have certain things implemented in Managed C# dll and need to use it in Win32 C++ project? (and just function definitions and dll are provided)
Sphinx is a new documentation tool for Python. It looks very nice. What I'm wondering is:
How suitable this is for documenting a C++ project?
Are there any tools for converting existing documentation (e.g. doxygen) to Sphinx format?
Are there online/downloadable examples of C++ projects that use Sphinx?
Any tips from anyone who has used Sphinx?
I'm working on a web application using mvc, we have already a service that does http binding, the client wants tcp binding for certain actions (not really sure why) but it's their requirement so i'm attempting to set up net.tcp binding, all references i am seeing to doing this involve a windows application and not a web application.
I guess my question has 2 parts, first can you run httpbinding and net.tcp binding at the same time through the same service/project.
secondly how would I consume the service through a webproject?
To narrow down the question, please suggest web-based topics only. To be honest, I'm struggling to find one for myself :)
I'm doing Computer Science and looking for a web-based, individual project.
A suitable topic would have a certain degree of novelty, so while you guys browsing the web everyday, what kind of things you expect but haven't come up before.
Sorry for my lousy English :)
I am exploring a structure of folders with C# projects such as the following:
Projects
ProjectA
ProjectB
ProjectC
ProjectD
Scattered around in the same folders as the .csproj files, there are several solution (.sln) files. Is there a fast way to find all the solutions that contain ProjectD.vsproj? I can open them one by one and see what they contain, but I would like a feature such as "find all the solutions containing this project".
Is there any way of removing unused references to assemblies, in a C# project, without the help of Resharper? The MSDN documentation does outline something for Visual Basic, but I couldn't find the same dialogs for C#.
I am currently developing a portal website, which is quite vast? My boss want me to publish a analysis report of this project.
But so far I made is just few line? So I am just looking for some expert point out of what I should consider in analysis stage.
