  On 3rd of Nov 2012 somebody started this thread : http://forums.hostgator.com/advice-needed-new-account-t214566.html?t=214566 subject "Advice needed on new account". I visited it on 5th and when I saw the total views I was stunned to see figure of 80,000( while other threads were having views from 50-300). I even made a post using name of rag_gupta. Then I simply typed in Google in IE (I work on Firefox) : Advice needed on new account ---- and yes this same page was in no#1 position. Subsequently I tried to create similar wording article in Hubpages to see how it'd fare. Unfortunately it was not allowed to be published. Then I published in blogger.com. But hardly any hits. Considering only the first two posts in the thread what could have driven google to rank it highly?

• Building a Repository Pattern against an EF 5 EDMX Model - Part 1

  I am part of a year long plus project that is re-writing an existing application for a client.  We have decided to develop the project using Visual Studio 2012 and .NET 4.5.  The project will be using a number of technologies and patterns to include Entity Framework 5, WCF Services, and WPF for the client UI.This is my attempt at documenting some of the successes and failures that I will be coming across in the development of the application.In building the data access layer we have to access a database that has already been designed by a dedicated dba. The dba insists on using Stored Procedures which has made the use of EF a little more difficult.  He will not allow direct table access but we did manage to get him to allow us to use Views.  Since EF 5 does not have good support to do Code First with Stored Procedures, my option was to create a model (EDMX) against the existing database views.   I then had to go select each entity and map the Insert/Update/Delete functions to their respective stored procedure.   I upgraded my Ubuntu 10.10 for Ubuntu 12.04. I have a Emachines E625 With Ubuntu 12.04 my wireless always disconnects every 10 sec. It didn't do that with 10.10. • Can't see YouTube videos in either Firefox or Chromium

  Dont' know why or if it is related, after upgrading Ubuntu 10.04 kernel ( I guess from 2.6.32-38 to -42) I can's see youtube videos. I checked the flash plug-ins installed and I have: (1) flashplugin-installer, (2) flashplugin-nonfree and (3) flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound. I haven't reinstalled the browsers yet.   Since 2007 I've been working on the development of an open-source game engine, and have been using JigLibX for 3D Physics. However, the developers on the project have stopped contributing to it for over 2 years now, and it's lacking features I need, or have major bugs in certain features. What are some good choices for 3D physics engines that are written purely in C#? Are there any that are more complete than JigLibX? EDIT: I just stumbled upon an engine called BEPUphysics. It was supported up until May 2012, which is fairly recent. I may check it out, any information that you guys could give on how complete the engine is would be great.

• Do Nvidia's drivers work in 12.10?

  I recently upgraded to 12.10 and was just checking for proprietary drivers to be installed. I found this in software sources When I enabled Nvidia binary Xorg driver, unity disappears along with the launcher and everything. I just have the wallpaper. I did manage to open the terminal and open software sources and select the nouveau display driver which fixed it. Question is how to enable NVIDIA binary Xorg driver and have everything working? Hardware: Apple MacBook Pro 9,1 Mid 2012 15 inch non-retina. NVIDIA GeForce GT650M EDIT: I tried the solution here. And now, when I boot into Ubuntu, I get a blinking cursor. That's all! No tty1, nothing. help !!
