  • Google Maps: marker icons are multi over same location, why?

    - by JakiT
I'm using Google Maps and have the map set to height/width=100%. I noticed that when I resize the browser window, my map marker icons appear to redraw on top of the same location. Meaning, if I should only have 1 map marker icon on "987 Main St", when I resize the browser window - multiple map marker icons are being now draw on top of "987 Main St" that shouldn't be there. Any ideas why this is happening and how to prevent it? UPDATE: Link to actual code

  • linq2sql: singleton or using, best practices

    - by zerkms
what is the preferred practice when linq2sql using (in asp.net mvc applications): to create "singleton" for DataContext like: partial class db { static db _db = new db(global::data.Properties.Settings.Default.nanocrmConnectionString, new AttributeMappingSource()); public static db GetInstance() { return _db; } } or to retrieve new instance when it needed within using: using (db _db = new db()) { ... } the usage of using brings some limitations on code. so I prefer to use singleton one. is it weird practice?

  • How to tile the contents of a CALayer?

    - by iaefai
I would like to tile a CGImage across a CALayer, but it seems to only want to stretch it. The example code: self.background = [UIImage imageNamed: @"Background.png"]; [documentDisplay.layer setContents: self.background.CGImage]; I would like to avoid subclassing if I could.

  • Hide button on first of two UIViews, but have it visible on second...

    - by Scott
So I have a UIViewController (main application controller is a TabBarController). On this there is a UINavigationBar, and a UIBarButtonItem. I'm PRETTY sure I hooked up everything correctly in the Interface Builder and that the outlet in the code is connected to the button in the .xib. It should be because the method works correctly. Now I have another button on this view that brings up a second view, a UIWebView. I want this UIBarButtonItem, labeled "Back", to make the UIWebView dissapear, and bring back the first UIView, which it DOES DO correctly. However, when you are on the first UIView, there is no need to see the UIBarButtonItem, so how can I hide it but then bring it up for the UIWebView. By the way, both views use the same UINavigationBar, the UIWebView is brought up inside the tab bar and the nav bar. Here is my code: #import "WebViewController.h" @implementation WebViewController @synthesize webButton; @synthesize item; @synthesize infoView; UIWebView *webView; + (UIColor*)myColor1 { return [UIColor colorWithRed:0.0f/255.0f green:76.0f/255.0f blue:29.0f/255.0f alpha:1.0f]; } // Creates Nav Bar with default Green at top of screen with given String as title + (UINavigationBar*)myNavBar1: (NSString*)input { UIView *test = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]]; UINavigationBar *navBar = [[UINavigationBar alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, test.bounds.size.width, 45)]; navBar.tintColor = [WebViewController myColor1]; UINavigationItem *navItem; navItem = [UINavigationItem alloc]; navItem.title = input; [navBar pushNavigationItem:navItem animated:false]; return navBar; } - (IBAction) pushWebButton { self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = item; CGRect webFrame = CGRectMake(0.0, 45.0, 320.0, 365.0); webView = [[UIWebView alloc] initWithFrame:webFrame]; [webView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor whiteColor]]; NSString *urlAddress = @"http://www.independencenavigator.com"; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlAddress]; NSURLRequest *requestObj = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; webView.scalesPageToFit = YES; [webView loadRequest:requestObj]; [self.view addSubview:webView]; [webView release]; } - (void) pushBackButton { [webView removeFromSuperview]; } // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = nil; [super viewDidLoad]; } @end Anyone know?

  • Crazy python behaviour

    - by Martin
I have a little piece of python code in the server script for my website which looks a little bit like this: console.append([str(x) for x in data]) console.append(str(max(data))) quite simple, you might think, however the result it's outputting is this: ['3', '12', '3'] 3 for some reason python thinks 3 is the max of [3,12,3]! So am I doing something wrong? Or this is misbehaviour on the part of python?

    - by Daniel Granger

Many Thanks

  • Problem with LINQ Generated class and IEnumerable to Excel

    - by mehmet6parmak
Hi all, I wrote a method which exports values to excel file from an IEnumerable parameter. Method worked fine for my little test class and i was happy till i test my method with a LINQ class. Method: public static void IEnumerableToExcel<T>(IEnumerable<T> data, HttpResponse Response) { Response.Clear(); Response.ContentEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.Default; Response.Charset = "windows-1254"; // set MIME type to be Excel file. Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel;charset=windows-1254"; // add a header to response to force download (specifying filename) Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=\"ResultFile.xls\""); Type typeOfT = typeof(T); List<string> result = new List<string>(); FieldInfo[] fields = typeOfT.GetFields(); foreach (FieldInfo info in fields) { result.Add(info.Name); } Response.Write(String.Join("\t", result.ToArray()) + "\n"); foreach (T t in data) { result.Clear(); foreach (FieldInfo f in fields) result.Add((typeOfT).GetField(f.Name).GetValue(t).ToString()); Response.Write(String.Join("\t", result.ToArray()) + "\n"); } Response.End(); } My Little Test Class: public class Mehmet { public string FirstName; public string LastName; } Two Usage: Success: Mehmet newMehmet = new Mehmet(); newMehmet.FirstName = "Mehmet"; newMehmet.LastName = "Altiparmak"; List<Mehmet> list = new List<Mehmet>(); list.Add(newMehmet); DeveloperUtility.Export.IEnumerableToExcel<Mehmet>(list, Response); Fail: ExtranetDataContext db = new ExtranetDataContext(); DeveloperUtility.Export.IEnumerableToExcel<User>(db.Users, Response); Fail Reason: When the code reaches the code block used to get the fields of the template(T), it can not find any field for the LINQ Generated User class. For my weird class it works fine. Why? Thanks...

  • How do I convert HTML to RTF (Rich Text) in .NET without paying for a component?

    - by Josh Kodroff
Is there a free third-party or .NET class that will convert HTML to RTF (for use in a rich-text enabled Windows Forms control)? The "free" requirement comes from the fact that I'm only working on a prototype and can just load the BrowserControl and just render HTML if need be (even if it is slow) and that Developer Express is going to be releasing their own such control soon-ish. I don't want to learn to write RTF by hand, and I already know HTML, so I figure this is the quickest way to get some demonstrable code out the door quickly.

  • Polymorphic call

I am new to java, I have seen in the code at many places where my seniors have declared as List myList = new ArrayList(); (option1) Instead of ArrayList myList = new ArrayList(); (option2) Can you please tell me why people use Option1, is there any advantages? If we use option2, do we miss out any advantages or features?
