  • Google App Engine (python): TemplateSyntaxError: 'for' statements with five words should end in 'rev

    - by Phil
This is using the web app framework, not Django. The following template code is giving me an TemplateSyntaxError: 'for' statements with five words should end in 'reversed' error when I try to render a dictionary. I don't understand what's causing this error. Could somebody shed some light on it for me? {% for code, name in charts.items %} <option value="{{code}}">{{name}}</option> {% endfor %} I'm rendering it using the following: class GenerateChart(basewebview): def get(self): values = {"datepicker":True} values["charts"] = {"p3": "3D Pie Chart", "p": "Segmented Pied Chart"} self.render_page("generatechart.html", values) class basewebview(webapp.RequestHandler): ''' Base class for all webapp.RequestHandler type classes ''' def render_page(self, filename, template_values=dict()): filename = "%s/%s" % (_template_dir, filename) path = os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__), filename) self.response.out.write(template.render(path, template_values))

  • Provide "Paste Link" Functionality in C# Winforms App

    - by Tim
I would like to add Copy-Paste Link functionality to an application. The application replaces a complex Excel workbook. I would like to be able to copy tables, text, and charts from the application and use Paste Link in MS Word. For the uninitiated: With Excel, when you use Paste Link for the tables, text, charts, etc. the items update in Word when you change them in Excel. Does anyone know for sure if this is/is not possible (is it some proprietary feature of MS Word-Excel)? If not, can anyone point me to some resources that will help (either an app that does this or a tutorial/write-up). Thanks!

  • How can we retrieve value on main.mxml from other .mxml?

Because a pie chart isn't going to have an xValue and a yValue, but things //like bar charts, column charts and, in our case, line charts will. var item:LineSeriesItem = hd.chartItem as LineSeriesItem; //the xValue and yValue are returned as Objects. Now, I need to obtain the value assigned to variable "hx" in main.mxml from "com/Amount.mxml".Any help would be greatly appreciated?

  • c#-excel interop - create chart on workbook as opposed to in a sheet

    - by david.barkhuizen
Using c# MS Excel interop library, I would like to programmatically create a new chart on the workbook, as opposed to on an a sheet. The code below allows me to create a chart on an existing _Worksheet (sheet). using using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel; _Worksheet sheet; (assume this is a reference to a valid _Worksheet object) ChartObjects charts = (ChartObjects)sheet.ChartObjects(Type.Missing); ChartObject chartObject = (ChartObject)charts.Add(10, 80, 300, 250); Chart chart = chartObject.Chart; chart.ChartType = XlChartType.xlXYScatter; Does anyone know how to rather go about creating a chart on the workbook (i.e. where the chart is the sheet).

  • What is the best way in Silerlight to make areas of a large graphic clickable?

    - by Edward Tanguay
In a Silverlight application I have large images which have flow charts on them. I need to handle the clicks on specific hotspots of the image where the flow chart boxes are. Since the flow charts will always be different, the information of where the hotspots has to be dynamic, e.g. in a list of coordinates. I've found article like this one but don't need the detail of e.g. the outline of countries but just simple rectangle and circle areas. I've also found articles where they talk about overlaying an HTML image map over the silverlight application, but it has to be easier than this. What is the best way to handle clicks on specific areas of an image in silverlight?

  • How do I Print a dynamically created Flex component/chart that is not being displayed on the screen?

    - by Adam Jones
    I have a several chart components that I have created in Flex. Basically I have set up a special UI that allows the user to select which of these charts they want to print. When they press the print button each of the selected charts is created dynamically then added to a container. Then I send this container off to FlexPrintJob. i.e. private function prePrint():void { var printSelection:Box = new Box(); printSelection.percentHeight = 100; printSelection.percentWidth = 100; printSelection.visible = true; if (this.chkMyChart1.selected) { var rptMyChart1:Chart1Panel = new Chart1Panel(); rptMyChart1.percentHeight = 100; rptMyChart1.percentWidth = 100; rptMyChart1.visible = true; printSelection.addChild(rptMyChart1); } print(printSelection); } private function print(container:Box):void { var job:FlexPrintJob; job = new FlexPrintJob(); if (job.start()) { job.addObject(container, FlexPrintJobScaleType.MATCH_WIDTH); job.send(); } } This code works fine if the chart is actually displayed somewhere on the page but adding it dynamically as shown above does not. The print dialog will appear but nothing happens when I press OK. So I really have two questions: Is it possible to print flex components/charts when they are not visible on the screen? If so, how do I do it / what am I doing wrong? UPDATE: Well, at least one thing wrong is my use of the percentages in the width and height. Using percentages doesn't really make sense when the Box is not contained in another object. Changing the height and width to fixed values actually allows the printing to progress and solves my initial problem. printSelection.height = 100; printSelection.width = 100; But a new problem arises in that instead of seeing my chart, I see a black box instead. I have previously resolved this issue by setting the background colour of the chart to #FFFFFF but this doesn't seem to be working this time. UPDATE 2: I have seen some examples on the adobe site that add the container to the application but don't include it in the layout. This looks like the way to go. i.e. printSelection.includeInLayout = false; addChild(printSelection);

  • Data Visualization Prototype (Java/Eclipse/DAO/Relational DB)

    - by Vince
Hello, I am building a prototype application which displays various 2D & 3D data charts. I am using a third party library for the charts, the database and data extraction layer have already been coded. Can you advise on a good desktop Framework to use within Eclipse to provide a 'professional' looking GUI with minimum coding required (This is just a prototype). Further can anyone advise an effective method to port this application to a web server so users could access remotely? I have limited experience with GWT, are their more suitable alternatives? Many Thanks

  • Rails object inheritence with belongs_to

    - by Rabbott
I have a simple has_many/belongs_to relationship between Report and Chart. The issue I'm having is that my Chart model is a parent that has children. So in my Report model I have class Report < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :charts end And my Chart model is a parent, where Pie, Line, Bar all inherit from Chart. I'm not sure where the belongs_to :report belongs within the chart model, or children of chart model. I get errors when I attempt to access chart.report because the object is of type "Class" undefined local variable or method `report' for #< Class:0x104974b90 The Chart model uses STI so its pulling say.. 'Pie' from the chart_type column in the charts table.. what am I missing?

  • Color schemes generation - theory and algorithms

    - by daniel.sedlacek
Hi I will be generating charts and diagrams and I am looking for some theory on color schemes and algorithm examples. Example questions: How to generate complementary or analogous colors? How to generate pastel, cold and warm colors? How to generate any number of random but distinct colors? How to translate all that to the hex triplet (web color)? My implementation will be in AS3 but any examples in metacode are welcome.

  • Excellent Windows Azure benchmarks

    - by Sarang
The Extreme computing group has released a fairly comprehensive set of benchmarks  for almost all aspects of WA. They have also provided the source code to alleviate all doubts that may surface with the MSFT logo lurking around the top right of their homepage :) (Which also resides at a cloudapp.net url). The code is simple and the tests comprehensive enough to hold as data points for customer interactions. Add to it the clean no nonsense Silverlight charts to render the benchmarks and you are set to sell. Technorati Tags: Azure,Benchmark,Extreme Computing Group

  • Apache log analyzer which manages time spent to serve the request

    - by antispam
I need to monitor performance in my web server (there's an application server in the back) and create reports for senior management. I've enabled %T/%D in my Apache logs and I would like to know if there's an Apache log analyzer or some other tool which parses these values and manages them showing charts or reports. I am looking mostly for an integrated solution and not in the line of awk+gnuplot scripts.
