  • UISlider how to set the initial value

    I'm pretty new at this iphone dev stuff and i'm working on some existing code at a company. The uislider i'm trying to set the initial value on is actually in a UITableViewCell and is a custom control.     I have been having a lot of difficulty adding custom track images to a UISlider. Whenever I do this, whether to a nib created UISlider or a hand programmed UISlider the slider refuses to display. Also, I even commented the track image code out below and the UISlider still refuses to display.   • JQuery Dragging Outside Parent

    I'm using JQuery's draggable(); to make li elements draggable. The only problem is when the element is dragged outside its parent, it doesn't show up. That is, it doesn't leave the confines of its parent div. An example is here: http://imgur.com/N2N1L.png - it's as if the z-index for everything else has greater priority (and the element slides under everything).   • How do I stop a bouncy JQuery animation?

    In a webapp I'm working on, I want to create some slider divs that will move up and down with mouseover & mouseout (respectively.) I currently have it implemented with JQuery's hover() function, by using animate() and reducing/increasing it's top css value as needed. This works fairly well, actually. The problem is that it tends to get stuck. If you move the mouse over it (especially near the bottom), and quickly remove it, it will slide up & down continuously and won't stop until it's completed 3-5 cycles. To me, it seems that the issue might have to do with one animation starting before another is done (e.g. the two are trying to run, so they slide back and forth.) Okay, now for the code. Here's the basic JQuery that I'm using: $('.slider').hover( /* mouseover */ function(){ $(this).animate({ top : '-=120' }, 300); }, /* mouseout*/ function(){ $(this).animate({ top : '+=120' }, 300); } ); I've also recreated the behavior in a JSFiddle.   • Issue with MOUSE_MOVE and MOUSE_OUT applied to stage

    I'm having an issue with MOUSE_OUT being called while it shouldn't. What I'm doing is quite simple: two images are shown when I move the mouse across the stage, and when the mouse leaves the stage they are hidden. The problem is, that whenever the mouse hits the border of any movieclip on the stage, the MOUSE_OUT function gets called, hiding the two images.     In my WPF application im trying to visualize some temperature data. I have a list of temperatures for the 7 past days and want to make a point to point line diagram. My problem is with the different koordinatesystems and adjusting data to the grid. XAML: <Grid Height="167" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="6,6,0,0" Name="grid1" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Width="455" /> C# (draft): http://pastebin.com/6UWkMFj1 scale is a global variable that changes with a slider (1-10). How to i correct my application so the line always is centered? As it is now it starts out centeded but if i crank up the slider to 3-4 the line goes up and above the applicationwindow.     Hey everyone. I've written this simple function that is supposed to load a portion of an XML file on mouseenter. It works fine when I specify the data source explicitly, shown below. I have a number of '.invest-port-thumb' divs, each with a unique link. The following code works fine—but it loads the whole XML file—and I only want a portion: $(document).ready(function() { $('.invest-port-thumb a').mouseenter(function() { $('#slider-name').load(this.href); }); }); This code also works fine—loading only the 'cName' portion that I want it to load...Except that this code refers to one of the files, instead of the value of this.href. $(document).ready(function() { $('.invest-port-thumb a').mouseenter(function() { $('#slider-name').load('port/atd.xml cName'); }); }); I guess what I'm saying, syntax wise—How can I combine this.href and the data matching cName?   • How do I simplify my code?

    I just finished creating my first major application in C#/Silverlight. In the end the total line count came out to over 12,000 lines of code. Considering this was a rewrite of a php/javascript application I created 2 years that was over 28,000 lines I am actually quite proud of my accomplishment. After reading many questions and answers here on stackoverflow and other sites online, I followed many posters advice: I created classes, procedures, and such for things that I would have a year ago copied and pasted; I created logic charts to figure out complex functions; making sure there are no crazy hidden characters (used tabs instead of spaces); and a few others things; place comments where necessary (I have lots of comments). My application consists of 4 tiles laid out horizontally that have user controls loaded into each slice. You can have between one and four slices loaded at anytime. If you have once slice loaded, the slice takes up the entire artboard...if you have 2 loaded, each take up half, 3 a third, 4 a quarter. Each one of these slices represent (for the sake of this example) a light control. Each slice has 3 slider controls in it. Now when I coded the functionality of the sliders, I used a switch/case statement inside of a public function that would run the command on the specified slice/slider. The made for some duplicate code but I saw no way around it as each slice was named differently. So I would do slice1.my.commands(); slice2.my.commands(); etc. My question to you is how do I clean up my code even futher? (Sadly I cannot post any of my code). Is there any way to take this repetion out of my code?

    I am having some issues with applying a gradient to a RadButton.     EDIT: So, I want to take a different approach to try and clarify what I'm looking for, I've been reading as much as I could these last hours and I feel I have a better grasp of how the system works, but I still don't know how to accomplish my goal. Reference links: -SUPERSIZED API So, I have the following script: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document.body).ready(function () { if (vars.current_slide == 5){**-I want it to display a div if the slider is the number 5-** } }); </script> My questions are these: 1) What do I add in the - - area to display a div that only shows up when the slider is at the 5th slide? 2) Am I doing the rest right or am I missing something? I created that code so it could be terribly wrong lol, hopefuly I got something right :P That's all, hope this clarifies it. Thank you all for the help!     I'm trying to get to the overscan slider in CCC but in the Desktops and Displays menu I can't right click the tv in the bottom left to bring up the configure option. If i hover the mouse over the tv it says TV, Disabled. How do i enable it?   • How can I quickly zoom in on the Mac OS X version of Word without having to use the menu?

    (I'm using the Mac version MS Word 2011) I used to happily use the wheel mouse to zoom but, after upgrading to the Mac Magic mouse (using only finger slide movement to scroll and pan) I can no longer hold Ctrl and roll the mouse to zoom (driving me crazy) and I can't see a useful keyboard shortcut and the zoom slider bar in the lower right of the Word screen isn't practical (in my experience). Is there any way to zoom in on the Mac Version of Microsoft Word 2011 without resorting to using a menu?

  • Disable Charm bar's Touchpad gesture shortcut

    I'm using an Acer AO722 laptop. Everytime I slide my finger from the right edge of the touchpad (where the slider is) toward the center (mostly accidentally), the charmbar pops up and stays on the screen until I manually click on some random spots on the screen. There's no such option in the Synaptics properties: .. nor is there any in the mouse option. Is there a way to turn this shortcut off?

    Hi Guys, I upgraded to 64bit ubuntu and every now and again (quite often though) i am unable to to type into the search box for google in chrome and firefox, i havent tried other browsers as these are the 2 i primarily use. Has anyone else experienced this? any solutions? also i'm unable to drag the slider in youtube (in firefox) to scan through videos.

  • IE6 + IE7 CSS problem with overflow: hidden; - position: relative; combo.

    So I have created a slider for a homepage, that slides some images with a title and teaser text using jQuery. Everything works fine, and I went to check IE and found that IE 6 and 7 kills my slider css completely. I can't figure out why, but for some reason I can't hide the non active slides with overflow: hidden; I've tried tweaking the css back and forth, but haven't been able to figure out what's causing the problem.     I'm making a little bot in C#. At the moment it works pretty well, it can load text from a file and type it for you. But for now, I need to manualy click the textfield to put the focus on it, remaximize my form and then click the Type-button. After the typing, I need to manualy slide the scorebar and press submit. I'd like to know how I can move my mouse with C# and if possible, if possible I'd like to load the mouse positions from a xml-file.   • HP Compaq 2510p wireless disabled by hardware switch

    I have an HP Compaq 2510p laptop running ubuntu 12.04 LTS. ubuntu reports that wireless is disabled by means of a hardware switch. There is a 'soft-key' button on the laptop to control the physical wireless hardware but this does not respond. There is no other button, slider, (fn)+ combination to control the physical wireless hardware. There is no BIOS function to disable wireless (and on XP - previous OS - wireless functioned fine). mike@ubuntu:~$ rfkill list all 0: brcmwl-0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes 1: hp-wifi: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no Running rfkill unblock all doesn't change things and I can see no way to change use from 0: to 1: (if that's even possible - or desirable - in the first place). I have checked for additional drivers and the Broadcom proprietary wireless driver is already installed and has a green light. Essentially, I believe I need to make the HP 'soft-keys' work - or at least the wireless card toggle. Advice gratefully received. Cheers M
