  • Sorting NSTableColumn contents

    - by Yahoo
Hey, I have a problem with sorting NSTableColumn contents. In my NSTableView there are three columns: File, Size, Path. The contents are stored in NSMutableArray. Each object in this array is a NSDictionary containing three keys: file, size and path - value for each is a NSString. In Interface Builder, in each Table Column's attributes I can choose sorting options: Selector: IB entered "compare:" which I think is ok, because I compare NSStrings. Sort Key - and that's the problem I think - I don't know what to enter here. Any clues? If you've got questions about my code, please ask.

  • Create a Search Filter List in Google Chrome

    - by Asian Angel
Are you tired of unwanted and/or non-relevant results cluttering up the search results at Bing, Yahoo, and Google? With the Search Filter extension for Chrome you can easily remove the unwanted “chaff” from your search results. Note: The extension only works on Bing, Yahoo, and Google at this time. Before For our example we conducted a search for “anime wallpapers” at Yahoo Singapore, Bing Singapore, and Google. In each set of results we decided to focus on results that would display either a yellow or red warning color from WOT. You can see our targeted result for Yahoo Singapore… The one for Bing Singapore… And the targeted result from Google. Search Filter in Action As soon as you install the extension you should take a quick look at the “Options”. At first the “Filters List Area” will be empty but will not remain so for long as you create your own filter list. The second part may or may not be of interest to you…the ability to opt into the filter service. If you opt in your filter list will be connected to your “Google Account” and will be available on any of your Chrome installs with the extension installed (and set to “Opt In”). Keep in mind that if you choose this option the filter list that you create will be aggregated anonymously and have a GUID number attached to it. After installing the extension we refreshed each of our three search pages…notice the small red circle button beside each search result link. Clicking on the red circle button will cause the entire browser window area to “shade out” temporarily while you decide between adding that website to the filter list or cancelling the action. If you add a website to the filter list that result will immediately disappear from the search results list without refreshing the webpage. Looks like we have another website at the bottom that we could add to the filter list… Click, click, click! After adding one website from each of the three search services you can see that our filter list has gotten off to a nice start. If for some reason you accidentally add a website to the list or change your mind about a website simply click on the red circle button to remove that particular listing. Conclusion If you are looking for an easy way to create a search filter list then this is definitely an extension that is worth taking the time to look at. • YUI DataTable with JSON and client side filtering Data Error

    - by user316574
    Hi, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong here ! I keep getting a Data Error. But I validated the JSON and it's ok... Here is the javascript from the YUI Datatble example (slightly modified). <div class="markup"> <label for="filter">Filter by state:</label> <input type="text" id="filter" value=""> <div id="tbl"></div> -- YAHOO.util.Event.addListener(window, "load", function() { //var Ex = YAHOO.namespace('example'); var dataSource = new YAHOO.util.DataSource("jsondb/json_meta_proxy.html",{ responseType : YAHOO.util.DataSource.TYPE_JSON, responseSchema : { resultsList: "records", fields: [ {key:"idprojet"}, {key:"nomprojet"} ], metaFields: { totalRecords: "totalRecords" } }, doBeforeCallback : function (req,raw,res,cb) { // This is the filter function var data = res.results || [], filtered = [], i,l; if (req) { req = req.toLowerCase(); for (i = 0, l = data.length; i and here is the JSON data in the file "jsondb/json_meta_proxy.html" { "recordsReturned": 1, "totalRecords": 1, "startIndex": 0, "sort": "idprojet", "dir": "asc", "records": [ { "idprojet": "11256", "nomprojet": "" } ] } Many thanks for your help !!!

  • Replacing a Namespace with XSLT

    - by er4z0r
Hi I want to work around a 'bug' in certain RSS-feeds, which use an incorrect namespace for the mediaRSS module. I tried to do it by manipulating the DOM programmatically, but using XSLT seems more flexible to me. Example: <media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss" url="http://www.suedkurier.de/storage/pic/dpa/infoline/brennpunkte/4311018_0_merkelxI_24280028_original.large-4-3-800-199-0-3131-2202.jpg" /> <media:thumbnail url="http://www.suedkurier.de/storage/pic/dpa/infoline/brennpunkte/4311018_0_merkelxI_24280028_original.large-4-3-800-199-0-3131-2202.jpg" /> Where the namespace must be http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/ (mind the slash). This is my stylesheet: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:template match="//*[namespace-uri()='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss']"> <xsl:element name="{local-name()}" namespace="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" > <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|*|text()" /> </xsl:element> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> Unfortunately the result of the transformation is an invalid XML and my RSS-Parser (ROME Library) does not parse the feed anymore: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Root element not set at org.jdom.Document.getRootElement(Document.java:218) at com.sun.syndication.io.impl.RSS090Parser.isMyType(RSS090Parser.java:58) at com.sun.syndication.io.impl.FeedParsers.getParserFor(FeedParsers.java:72) at com.sun.syndication.io.WireFeedInput.build(WireFeedInput.java:273) at com.sun.syndication.io.WireFeedInput.build(WireFeedInput.java:251) ... 8 more What is wrong with my stylesheet?

  • Deliver large volume of automatic notification emails without being throttled

    - by jack
I think most website has certain needs to deliver emails to its users, e.g. account activation emails, private messsage notification, comment notification, etc. Take my site as example, among 5,000 registered users, about 1,500 signed up using gmail.com box, 1,000 using yahoo.com and another 1,000 using hotmail.com. Every now and then I receive complaints from users that they never receive account activation email, sometime it goes to junk folder sometimes it just not show in any folder. Maybe it's kind of being "throttled" when exceeded maximum number of messages sent from same ip address to gmail.com/yahoo.com/hotmail.com during certain period of time? I'm using Postfix and there seems no problem with configuration since 90% of emails can be delivered to gmail.com/yahoo.com/hotmail.com boxes successfully. I noticed twitter is delivering millions of such automatic notifications to its users but I never missed a message from them. How do they archive this? Is there a permanent white list on gmail.com, yahoo.com or hotmail.com? Thanks in advance.

  • Colorbox does not refresh its contents when I change URL

    - by Josef Sábl
I am trying to make use of Colorbox on my webpage. One specific feature does not work as expected, though. In their example (Outside Webpage - Iframe specifically) Google appears in the Colorbox when clicked. When you change href on that link (Using Firebug or JavaScript, e.g.) to, let's say, Yahoo, it works as expected and Yahoo is displayed after click. But not in my case. Once I click the link, I have no way to change the URL. Href, as displayed in browser, changes (to Yahoo), but click always opens the first page (Google). What might be the problem? I almost copy-pasted their example: <script src="/lib/jquery.js"></script> <script src="/lib/jquery.colorbox.js"></script> <p><a class='example7' href="http://yahoo.com">Outside Webpage (Iframe)</a></p> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $(".example7").colorbox({width:"80%", height:"80%", iframe:true}); }); </script> My jquery version is 1.4.1 but I also tried same version as their example uses (1.3.2)

  • Instant Messenger proxy with web-based, searchable chat logs and mobile support

    - by zpinter
Does anybody here know of a decent setup for having multiple computers and devices (iPhone/Android) logged into the same IM accounts (yahoo, gtalk, AIM) with consolidated web-based chat logs? I've tried/thought of a few approaches: IRC w/ IRSSI and bitlbee (was nice, but not a great solution for phones and chat logs were painful) Google Talk (would be great if I could just use this, but I need to support Yahoo - perhaps a Jabber relay?) Meebo (can this be used as a proxy?)

  • How do I permanently delete e-mail messages in the sendmail queue and keep them from coming back?

    - by Steven Oxley
I have a pretty annoying problem here. I have been testing an application and have created some test e-mails to bogus e-mail addresses (not to mention that my server isn't really set up to send e-mail anyway). Of course, sendmail is not able to send these messages and they have been getting stuck in the sendmail queue. I want to manually delete the messages that have been building up in the queue instead of waiting the 5 days that sendmail usually takes to stop retrying. I am using Ubuntu 10.04 and /var/spool/mqueue/ is the directory in which every how-to I have read says the e-mails that are queued up are kept. When I delete the files in this directory, sendmail stops trying to process the e-mails until what appears to be a cron script runs and re-populates this directory with the messages I don't want sent. Here are some lines from my syslog: Jun 2 17:35:19 sajo-laptop sm-mta[9367]: o530SlbK009365: to=, ctladdr= (33/33), delay=00:06:27, xdelay=00:06:22, mailer=esmtp, pri=120418, relay=e.mx.mail.yahoo.com. • Authenticated RSS Feeds in Google Reader?

    - by OMG Ponies
I'm aware that Google Reader does not support authenticated RSS feeds, and I have a user wishing to get his Confluence RSS feeds regardless. He's used FreeMyFeed in the past, but it hasn't worked for him in a while. I looked at Yahoo Pipes, but sadly our Confluence (and thus it's RSS feeds) are HTTPS - which Yahoo Pipes does not support. What other alternatives are there?

  • How do I use SLIDE instead of FADE in a YUI Menu animation?

    - by Avry
I'm using the following configuration for a menu that is attached to a button: var srchTypeMenuConfig = { shadow: false, effect: { effect: YAHOO.widget.ContainerEffect.FADE, duration: .25 } }; I get a nice fade in and out for my menu when I click on the button; I'd rather have it slide in and out though. I replace YAHOO.widget.ContainerEffect.FADE with YAHOO.widget.ContainerEffect.SLIDE and the menu doesn't appear. Is there a way for me to get YUI to give me the slide effect? Here's what I've done so far: 1) Looked at the examples. 2) Looked at some effects examples from DavGlass' blog. 3) Searched the forums for 'ContainerEffect.SLIDE'. 4) Searched SO for 'ContainerEffect.SLIDE [YUI]'. I haven't found any helpful information. I suspect that I need to add something to my configuration, but I don't understand why fade would work but slide doesn't.

  • Most Efficient Way of calling an external webservice in Java?

    - by Sudheer
In one of our applications we need to call the Yahoo Soap Webservice to Get Weather and other related info. I used the wsdl2java tool from axis1.4 and generated th required stubs and wrote a client. I use jsp's use bean to include the client bean and call methods defined in the client which call the yahoo webservice inturn. Now the problem: When users make calls to the jsp the response time of the webservice differs greatly, like for one user it took less then 10 seconds and the other in the same network took more than a minute. I was just wondering if Axis1.4 queues the requests even though the jsps are multithreaded. And finally is there an efficient way of calling the webservice(Yahoo weather). Typically i get around 200 simultaneous requests from my users.

  • Mass-mailing without getting your domain banned

    - by Arpit
I plan on sending an email to 10k+ email addresses (mostly gmail and yahoo) to announce the launch of my startup's product. I'm planning on using PHPMailer or PHPList to send out the mails. I've never mass-mailed before and had a few basic questions. I've already browsed through some of the other mass-mail threads on this forum but the questions remain hence a new thread. Are newsletters which are sent by so many other organizations sent out in a similar manner - using programs such as PHPMailer or PHPList? When would a GMail or a Yahoo blacklist my domain name - are there any set parameters - 1000 emails in an hour would result in getting banned or some such parameters? If yes, then what sort of settings should I take note of when sending the emails - any format of the email or spread out the 10+ emails over 2 days etc.? If a Gmail or a Yahoo blacklists your domain name - is there any way to get out of the blacklist?

So <a href="http://pages.yahoo.com/page1">Example page</a> would become: Example, while other anchors in the HTML not containing "yahoo" would be left alone. Thank you in advance. -T

  • Which Hadoop API version should I use?

    - by Niels Basjes
In the latest Hadoop Studio the 0.18 API of Hadoop is called "Stable" and the 0.20 API of Hadoop is called "Unstable". Now given the fact that we'll start coding a new Hadoop project in the next few weeks; which API should we use and which Hadoop distribution (Apache, Cloudera, Yahoo, ...) should we use? • YUI Datatable Not Taking JSON

Thanks! I have tested the validity of the JSON at JSONLint and it says it is valid.

  • Mysql: how to generate count table by PATTERN / LIKE statement ? very tricky

    - by Abdulrahman Al-Qabandi
to simplify, I got a database of registered users, I want to count how many emails there are for each email domain name (note I do not know all domain names) for example, Users table- id | email ------------------ 1 | [email protected] 2 | [email protected]<--unknown to me 3 | [email protected]<--unknown to me 4 | [email protected] 5 | [email protected]<--unknown to me 6 | [email protected] 7 | [email protected] 8 | [email protected] ( note: I want to count each email without specifying which email exactly ) so the result I want is suffix | count hotmail.com | 3 somesite.aaa | 2 unknownsite.aaa| 1 yahoo.com | 2 again, I stress this, I do not know unknownsite.aaa nor can i mention it in a statement because it is unknown to me, i hope I am clear. So essentially I want to make a statistic of what my website users use as an email host website. but like I said and I will repeat the third time, I do not know every mailhost that exists. I am going to investigate this more, I have a feeling this is something mysql cannot handle.
