  I am creating a activity stream of my feeds according to the http://activitystrea.ms standard. I am using rails atom builder to create a valid atom feed, but when I use xml.tag!("activity:object-type", "http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/person") the atom feed goes blank.On seeing the source I find the correct xml format from what I have found out the ":object" is giving the problem.

  Hi, I having a hard time to consume this webservice https://www.arello.com/webservice/verify.cfc?wsdl in my rails application. I successfully generated the ruby files with the wsdl2ruby.rb but when un run the generated script I get the following error: at depth 0 - 20: unable to get local issuer certificate OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed I also tried to connect via this script but same issue require 'http-access2' client = HTTPAccess2::Client.new() client.ssl_config.set_trust_ca('/arello.cert') puts client.get('https://www.arello.com/webservice/verify.cfc?wsdl').content Any ideas? • I need to embed vimeo or some other html in my rails app

  Can someone point me in a direction so that I can use embed code in Rails? Sometimes I need to embed a slideshow pro file and sometimes I need to embed a youtube file and sometimes a vimeo file in the same area for different entries, it would be easiest to use embed code but it keeps stripping the embed code.   I'm using FCKEditor in my Rails app to create HTML forms and it goes very well, except that no ID tag can be filled out. It asks for name and value with the input tags, but not for an ID. Is there a simple way to enable this or to add this manually? Thanks!

  Is there an easy way to see the actual SQL generated by a rails migration? I have a situation where a migration to change a column type worked on my local development machine by partially failed on the production server. My postgreSQL versions are different between local and production (7 on production, 8 on local) so I'm hoping by looking at the SQL generated on the successful migration locally I can work out a SQL statement to run on production to fix things....

However, some functionality of the script requires superuser privileges. What is the most sane way to run this script securely? It is being passed arguments from a web form, but should only be able to be called by authenticated (and trusted) users.

  can you update your 2.3.5 app with just "gem update rails" and change the version # in environment.rb? I did that and lots of errors came out like in console just typing Post.all would show "undefined method `retrieve_connection' for nil:NilClass". Any ideas? • Rails: find by day of week with timestamp

  I need to grab the records for same day of the week for the preceeding X days of the week. There must be a better way to do it than this: Transaction.find_by_sql "select * from transactions where EXTRACT(DOW from date) = 1 and organisation_id = 4 order by date desc limit 7" It gets me what I need but is Postgres specific and not very "Rails-y". Date is a timestamp. Anyone got suggestions?
