  • How to insert Flash without JavaScript in the most compatible but valid way?

    I'm looking for a way to embed Flash into a XHTML Transitional page that does not rely on enabled JavaScript, which validates and that works across all major Browsers including IE6. So far I'm using this solution which seems to work just fine: http://latrine.dgx.cz/how-to-correctly-insert-a-flash-into-xhtml#toc-final-solution However, when this method is used in an RSS Feed it seems that Feedburner and Google Reader at least (maybe other feed readers, too) strip the whole object tags and only leave the alternative content. Any suggestions how to improve this?

    I have a large xml file which contents a lot of self-closed tags. How could remove all them by using XSLT. eg. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Persons> <Person> <Name>user1</Name> <Tel /> <Mobile>123</Mobile> </Person> <Person> <Name>user2</Name> <Tel>456</Tel> <Mobile /> </Person> <Person> <Name /> <Tel>123</Tel> <Mobile /> </Person> <Person> <Name>user4</Name> <Tel /> <Mobile /> </Person> </Persons> I'm expecting the result: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Persons> <Person> <Name>user1</Name> <Mobile>123</Mobile> </Person> <Person> <Name>user2</Name> <Tel>456</Tel> </Person> <Person> <Tel>123</Tel> </Person> <Person> <Name>user4</Name> </Person> </Persons> Note: there are thousands of different elements, how can I programmatically remove all the self-closed tags. Another question is how to remove the empty element such as <name></name> as well. Can anyone help me on this? Many thanks.

Z - "Zeta", "Zimmer" Any ideas?

  • How can I test potentially browser crashing javascript without having to restart my browser?

    I've been having a crack at some of the problems over at http://projecteuler.net/ with JavaScript. I've been using a simple html page and running my code in script tags so I can log my results in the browsers' console. When experimenting with loops I sometimes cause the browser to crash. Is there a better environment for me to do this kind of development in, or anything I can do to allow me to carry on testing in the browser?

I am trying to figure out how to tell paperclip not to output anything if there is no record in the table so that I don't have broken image links everywhere. How, and where, do I do this?   • Browser is showing PHP code instead of processing it

    I have installed XAMPP on my computer which is Windows 8 pro. I use to work with Windows 7 every time I run the index.php file on Windows 8 it shows the code on the browser IE10. Here is what I have done: I have named the file correctly: index.php I have installed the server and saved the files inside c:/xampp/htdocs/PHP/ I have used to open and close all PHP tags and everything else seems working fine, like, PHPMyAdmin, and the Ini file I don't know whats wrong and it is driving me crazy ... I have the media plugin installed and working from what I can tell but when I view the page http://philadelphia.cities2night.com/articles/show/article/105/arthur-kade-runs-into-stewart-bradley-starting-star-linebacker-for-the-philadelphia-eagles-and-talks-about-fashion-show-he-s-hosting I see the object tags. Is this a issue with the plugin?
