• Getting DataBinder Item's max value

  I'm working at the aspx page, and the following code is inserted in a Repeater control: <%# ((System.Collections.Generic.List<double>)DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "BookPrices")).Max() %> Brings up the following error: 'System.Collections.Generic.List<double>' does not contain a definition for 'Max' List does have an method of Max(), so I'm possibly messing up my code somehow. What is my problem? BookPrices is a list<double> object, which I'd like to print it's maximum value. P.S. You guys are great! I didn't find answers for many of my questions on the web.   Hi I have one asp.net application, which has some problems while i am entering the special characters such as ": &#, " in the search box. If i enter this text in search box, i got the exception like this. • Jquery UI Slider - Input a Value and Slider Move to Location

  I was wondering if anyone has found a solution or example to actually populating the input box of a slider and having it slide to the appropriate position onBlur() .. Currently, as we all know, it just updates this value with the position you are at. So in some regards, I am trying to reverse the functionality of this amazing slider. One link I found: http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-177578.html is a bit outdated, but looks like they made an attempt. However, the links to the results do not exist. I am hoping that there may be a solution out there. I know Filament has re-engineered the slider to handle select (drop down) values, and it works flawlessly.. So the goal would be to do the same, but with an input text box. Any help would be incredible! Thanks in Advance!! Robert

• Why does ICEfaces send dispose-window request on page unload when using view-scoped bean?

  in our application ICEfaces always sends a dispose-window request just before navigating to another JSF Page. as much as i understand this should not happen when having org.icefaces.lazyWindowScope set to true and there is no window-scoped bean involved in current request. but it happens on each link and makes our UI less responsive. but we don't have any window-scoped bean in our application. is that a bug in icefaces that the dispose request is sent when using view-scoped beans? Is it possible to disable? • CUPS basic auth error through web interface

  I'm trying to configure CUPS to allow remote administration through the web interface. There's enough documentation out there that I can figure out what to change in my cupsd.conf (changing Listen localhost:631 to Port 631, and adding Allow @LOCAL to the /, /admin and /admin/conf sections). I'm now at the point where I can see the CUPS interface from another machine on the same network. The trouble is, when I try to Add Printer, I'm asked for a username and password, but my response is rejected even when I know I've gotten it right (I assume it's asking for the username and password of someone in the lpadmin group on the server machine; I've sshed in with credentials its rejecting, and the user I'm using has been added to the lpadmin group). If I disable auth outright, by changing DefaultAuthType Basic to DefaultAuthType None, I get an "Unauthorized" error instead of a password request when I try to Add Printer. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way of letting users from the local network to administer the print server through the CUPS web interface? • Practical value for concurrent-request-timeout parameter

  In the Seam Reference Guide, one can find this paragraph: We can set a sensible default for the concurrent request timeout (in ms) in components.xml: <core:manager concurrent-request-timeout="500" /> However, we found that 500 ms is not nearly enough time for most of the cases we had to deal with, especially with the severe restriction seam places on conversation access. In our application we have a combination of page scoped ajax requests (triggered by various use actions), some global scoped polling notification logic (part of the header, so included in every page) and regular links that invoke actions and/or navigate to other pages. Therefore, we get the dreaded concurrent access to conversation exception way too often, even without any significant load on the site. After researching the options for quite a bit, we ended up bumping this value to several seconds (we're debating whether to bump it up to 10s), as none of the recommended solutions seemed able to solve our issue completely (even forcing a global queue for all the ajax requests would still leave us exposed to a user deciding to click a link right when one of our polling calls was in progress). And we'd much rather have the users wait for a second or two instead of getting an error page just because they clicked a link at the wrong moment. And now to the question: is there something obvious we're missing (like a way to allow concurrent access to conversations and taking care of the needed locking ourselves, for instance :)? How do people solve this problem (ajax requests mixed with user driven interaction) in seam? Disabling all the links on the page while ajax requests are in progress (as suggested by one blog page) is really not a viable option. Any other suggestions? TIA, Andrei

  Hello, I want to grep the error's out of a log file and save the value as an error. When I use: errors = os.system("cat log.txt | grep 'ERROR' | wc -l") I get the return code that the command worked or not. When I use: errors = os.popen("cat log.txt | grep 'ERROR' | wc -l") I get what the command is trying to do. When I run this in the command line I get 3 as thats how many errors there are. Can anyone suggest another way? Thanks

  Using VS 2010, with ASP.NET, and .NET 3.0, and C#... When I use a System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSource and call its Insert() method to insert a new row, and that table has an identity column, I'd like my method to return the value of that column. For example, in my SQL 2005 table, I've got: Customer.Id Customer.FirstName Customer.LastName Where Customer.Id is an identity colum. When I call my method InsertNewCustomerRecord( "John", "Smith" ), I'd like to be able to return the Customer.Id that gets automatically generated in the database.   What's the best value for money c# code protection? Some just use obfuscation, others add win32 wrapping, some cost a fortune. So far I've come up with http://www.eziriz.com/ who's Intellilock looks promising. Any other suggestions? Any reasons why this is not a good idea? I know its impossible to completely protect but I'd prefer the ability to protect my code so that it would require a lot of effort in order to recover it. I do hope to sell my products eventually, while also releasing some for free.

  I have an ASP.NET form with three text inputs, one each for "Work Phone", "Home Phone" and "Cell Phone". Each of these text inputs has a RequiredFieldValidator associated with it. I also have a DropDownList where the user can select the preferred phone type. I want to only require the field that is selected in the DropDownList. For example, if the user selects "Work Phone" from the DropDownList, I want to disable the RequiredFieldValidator for "Home Phone" and "Cell Phone", thereby only making the "Work Phone" field required. I have a method that enables and disables these validators based on the value of the DropDownList, but I cannot figure out when to call it. I want this method to run before the validation takes place on the page. How would I do that?

  Hi all, I've been looking around for a solution to this thing but I haven't found anything similar to what I'm looking for. The thing is that I've got a table filled with data from a database, and what I want is to change the background colour of an specific row depending on a value of the class I'm loading in each row. The thing is that I have to display some data but as the fields to be displayed are quite a lot, I don't have more space to show an status field, so I would like to show the row in red if the status is inactive, and the rest of the rows in the normal color of the blue stylesheet. Is there a way to do that through tablesorter? I'm opened to suggestions, as I'm not sure how to do it. Thank you all in advance, Victor

  Hi All, Suppose there is a table A which has a column AccessRights which is multivalued( Eg of values in it in this format STOLI,HELP,BRANCH(comma separated string) Now a stored procedure is written against this table to fetch records based on a AccessRight parameter sent to the SP. Current Approach is I split the Comma Separated string(@AccessRights) using a User Defined Function Split.
