    I a have a notification in a receiver that fires off fine, but it restarts the activity (thus clearing the edittexts and resetting the toggle button) How can i set it so that when its tapped on it resumes the activity rather that clearing and resetting everything? First, and looking at Photoshop's one, i thought of the RGB palette as a three-dimensional matrix.     Hello SOers, I'm sure this is an easy problem, but my google / help foo has failed me, so it's up to you. I have an R script that generates several plots, and I want to view all the plots on screen at once (in seperate windows), but I can't work out how to open multiple graphics windows. I'm using ggplot2, but I feel this is a more basic problem, so I'm just using base grapics for this simple example x<-c(1:10) y<-sin(x) z<-cos(x) dev.new() plot(y=y,x=x) dev.off() dev.new() plot(x=x,y=z) But this doesn't work. I'm on Windows if this matters (Windows + Eclipse + StatEt)

  • Good way to create PDF from Office documents in Java

    I'm looking for a good way to convert Office (mostly Microsoft) documents to PDF in Java. I've been looking at using the OpenOffice SDK but from the samples I've looked at it looks like this requires having OpenOffice running in server mode to do the work. Does anyone know of a good way to do this? Good meaning the less external requirements, the better. A 100% Java API would be best, but I don't expect that actually exists.

  • CSS to create curved corner between two elements?

    My UI has an unordered list on the left. When a list item is selected, a div appears on the right of it. I'd like to have a curved outer corner where the <li> and the <div> meet. See the white arrow in the image below. To extend the blue <li> to the edge of the <ul>, I'm planning to do something like this: li { right-margin: 2em; border-radius: 8px; } li.active { right-margin: 0; border-bottom-right-radius: 0; border-top-right-radius: 0; } Is there a better way to extend the <li> to the edge of the <ul>? Obviously, I'll include the webkit and mozilla border radius CSS as well. The main thing I'm unsure about is that outer corner underneath the bottom right corner of the active <li>. I have some ideas, but they seem like hacks. Any suggestions? NOTE that the <ul> is indicated in grey, but it would be white in the real design. Also, I'm planning to use Javascript to position the <div> correctly when an <li> is selected.

    Hello all, I am a newb to Android and Java and want to write a funtion that will display a list based on a varable that I pass to the function. The function is below and the code below creates an array out of a string called type, but what I want to do is pass it a variable string and have it build a list based on that string. So if I wanted the type list I would say list_it("type") But if I try something like getResources().getStringArray(R.array.thelist); it doesn't work.     I'm thinking of making a little web tool for analyzing the search engine optimization and web accessiblity of a whole website. First of all, this is just a private tool for now. Crawling a whole website takes up alot of resources and time. I've found out that wget is the best option for downloading the markup for a whole site. I plan on using PHP/MySQL (maybe even CodeIgniter), but I'm not quite sure if that's the right way to do it. There's always someone who recommends Python, Ruby or Perl. I only know PHP and a little bit Rails. I've also found a great HTML DOM parser class in PHP on SourceForge. But, the thing is, I need some feedback on what I should and should not do. Everything from how I should make the crawl process to what I should be checking for in regards to SEO and WCAG. So, what comes to your mind when you hear this?

  • Create an Edit view similar to Contacts App

    I have an edit view in my app which is a instance of UITableViewController and contains one cell with a textfield in a grouped table. At the moment this cell is at the top of the screen and is firstResponder so they keyboard is visible as well. But in all the Apples apps like the Contacts App when you edit a piece of information like an Email it buts both of its rows in the middle between the Nav Bar and the Keyboard not at the top of the screen. How do I achieve this effect? Many Thanks
