• Google Places Review - Owner or Business Name?

  I currently manage a Google Places Business, where we have received several reviews. I am wanting to respond to these reviews but I want to respond as the company, not as myself. I am the 'owner' of the page, it is through my personal gmail address. Like Facebook, when replying to comments and posts by other users on the business' wall, you reply as the actual business, not as your personal name. Is this the case with Google Places? If not, how can I get it so the reviews are posted as the company name, not my personal name?

• MVC helper functions business logic

  I am creating some helper functions (mvc.net) for creating common controls that I need in almost every project such as alert boxes, dialogs etc. If these do not contain any business logic and it's just client side code (html, js) then it's ok. My problem arises when I need some business logic behind this helper. I want to create a 'rate my (web) application' control that will be visible every 3 days and the user may hide it for now, navigate to rate link or hide it for ever. To do this I need some sort of database access and a code that acts as business logic. Normally I would use a controller for this, with my DI and everything, but I don't know where to put this code now. This should be placed in the helper function or in a controller that responds objects instead of ActionResults?

• Inexpensive Business Checks

  One of the most annoying things when setting up a business is paying the outrageous fees for business checks.  When starting out, rather than pay the $150 for the handful of computer printable checks, I had bought software that would create the checks for me.  But if you didn’t know, those little digits at the bottom of a check are magnetically encoded and requires special ink. Fortunately, my current bank has one of the best bill pay websites, so I have exclusively used it.  But since I recently had to open a new bank account, I went off in search of a cheap alternative for business checks.  A bit wary of some of the printers, I opted for TechChecks and was extremely surprised a few days later when my checks arrived in perfect condition.  (I recommend the diamond prismatic red-blue-green checks.  Beautiful and very professional looking.) It was perfect timing as well, since I now have to reorder some checks for another account.

Our goal is to provide a single-online support portal so that all My Oracle Support users can benefit from the same features and functionality. Prior to July 13, 2012, users of Oracle On Demand, Oracle CRM On Demand, Taleo, and Oracle Configuration Manager should continue accessing the My Oracle Support Flash-based user interface. After July 13, 2012, the above features and functionality to support these users will be available on the HTML interface. All other users of My Oracle Support can make the switch now.   Currently the project on which I am working is being developed with Spring, Hibernate and struts. The business layer consists of simple java beans with no behavior in them only properties and getter and setter methods, the services are written on them which operates on them and call DAO layer methods and all. My questions is that is it object oriented way of designing or simply the procedure way in which the data and the functions on which they operate are not together.   I created an element with an input value of type "Day" , when i write a formula i get this error. Any idea what's wrong? APP-FF-33232: EATC_EXTRA_DAYS_ENTRY_EFFECTIVE_DATE_ENTRY_VALUE has null or not found allowed, but no default set specified. Cause: If a Database Item has null allowed, or not found allowed, then the item must also specify a default set to be used to provide default values in the event of these occurring. The item named has one of these conditions allowed, but the default set column in the FF_DATABASE_ITEMS table is null. Action: Please refer to your local support representative. -

  I am tasked with the administration of a small office network as well as several workstations running mostly Debian and Ubuntu. There are two servers: one database & print-server, and one backup & file server. Being relatively new to this side of things, knowing enough to help myself to some degree on Linux, I would like to know what software tools and tasks/habits I can use/acquire to learn this field and be effective while doings so. I don't need to know what is the best, just what a newbie sys-admin can use as a starter-pack to learn and use as a base to grow into proper system administration. [edit] What I need is those few basic tools to start with, and the kind of things I need to do regularly, e.g.: which logs to check, when & what to monitor, the kind of 'right' place to start and to which I can ad as I need.

• Simple web-frontend for remote svn administration?

  We run a SVN repository. Some of our more advanced users need to be able to perform some SVN administration without relying on the system administrator. They need to be able to do things like create SVN repositories, delete SVN repositories,, and perform commands like 'svnadmin dump' and 'svnadmin load'. We'd like to avoid SSH access on these FreeBSD machines, and would rather provide a service interface through a Web UI. I'm looking for a simple script (or a small number of scripts) which use Perl or PHP. I found svnadmin or svnadmin.pl, but was hoping to find something with a larger user community or which has been recommended by others. It looks like Trac allows SVN administration, but comes with may more features then we need.

There would need to be a conf file per logged in user. and an administrator user for viewing all config files in his group. I'm wondering what technology is best to create this framework. • Avoid implicit conversion from date to timestamp for selects with Oracle using Hibernate

  I'm using Hibernate 3.2.7.GA criteria queries to select rows from an Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4.0 database, filtering by a timestamp field. The field in question is of type java.util.Date in Java, and DATE in Oracle. It turns out that the field gets mapped to java.sql.Timestamp, and Oracle converts all rows to TIMESTAMP before comparing to the passed in value, bypassing the index and thereby ruining performance. One solution would be to use Hibernate's sqlRestriction() along with Oracle's TO_DATE function. That would fix performance, but requires rewriting the application code (lots of queries). So is there a more elegant solution? Since Hibernate already does type mapping, could it be configured to do the right thing? Update: The problem occurs in a variety of configurations, but here's one specific example: Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4.0 Oracle JDBC Driver 11.1.0.7.0 Hibernate 3.2.7.GA Hibernate's Oracle10gDialect Java 1.6.0_16
