    Hi all, Sorry to ask this as I thought I knew the answer, I want to exit the program if userName is greater than 4 characters or userName is not an account called student. However this even if the userName is only 3 characters and is not student I'm still hitting Application.Exit. What am I doing wrong? if (userName.Length > 4 | userName != "student") { Application.Exit(); } Shame on me :-(

  • Select fields containing at least one non-space alphanumeric character

    - by zzapper
    (Sorry I know this is an old chestnut; I have found similar answers here but not an exact answer) These are frequent hand written queries from a console so I is what I am looking for is the easiest thing to type SELECT * FROM tbl_loyalty_card WHERE CUSTOMER_ID REGEXP "[0-9A-Z]"; or SELECT * FROM tbl_loyalty_card WHERE LENGTH(CUSTOMER_ID) >0; -- could match spaces Do you have anything quicker to type even if it's QAD?

  • Oracle - Return shortest string value in a set of rows

    - by Sridhar
    Hi, I'm trying to write a query that returns the shortest string value in the column. For ex: if ColumnA has values ABCDE, ZXDR, ERC, the query should return "ERC". I've written the following query, but I'm wondering if there is any better way to do this? BTW, the query should return a single value. select distinct ColumnA from ( select ColumnA, rank() over (order by length(ColumnA), ColumnA) len_rank from TableA where ColumnB = 'XXX' ) where len_rank <= 1 Thank you.

    I'm looking for a way to implement a bracket style border around my <h2> headings; I've attached an image showing exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. The only way I can think of to achieve this effect is by using images, but I'm unsure of exactly how to do so(all of my <h2>s are of varying length/height, or if maybe there is a better way. Any tips & insight are greatly appreciated.

  • Fast data structure for small sets

    - by thr
    I'm in need for a data structure that can handle small sets (10-20 strings, at most 50, of varying length) very fast. False positives is ok, but false negatives are not. The last requirement makes bloom filters seem like a good fit, but I'm not sure about their speed, any other recommendations?

    Hi, I'm wondering if it is at all possible to get the total duration of an mp3 being streamed in flash? At the moment I'm using the following code to estimate the lenght but it is always inaccurate var loadTime:Number=_track.bytesLoaded / _track.bytesTotal; var loadPercent:uint=Math.round(100 * loadTime); estimatedLength=Math.ceil(_track.length / (loadTime));

  • How to control manager class in Blackberry

    - by Keng
    Dear All, I have a problem when creating a UI on Blackberry. First, i try to create a ChatLayoutManager class extended from Manager class. My layout has three component: topfield, mainfield and bottom field. public class ChatLayoutManager extends Manager { private Field bottomField; private Field mainField; private Field titleField; public ChatLayoutManager(long style) { super(style); } protected void sublayout(int width, int height) { setExtent(width, height); int y = 0; if (bottomField != null) { layoutChild(bottomField, width, height); // This goes at the bottom of the screen setPositionChild(bottomField, 0, height-bottomField.getHeight()); height -= bottomField.getHeight(); } if (titleField != null) { layoutChild(titleField, width, height); // This goes at the top of the screen setPositionChild(titleField, 0, 0); height -= titleField.getHeight(); y += titleField.getHeight(); } if (mainField != null) { layoutChild(mainField, width, height); // This goes just below the title field (if any) setPositionChild(mainField, 0, y); } } public void setMainField(Field f) { mainField = f; add(f); } public void setBottomField(Field f) { bottomField = f; add(f); } public void setTitleField(Field f) { titleField = f; add(f); } Then i create another field (ChatField) extended from manager to add to mainfield in the ChatLayoutManager class which i have created above. public class ChatField extends Manager{ private Field _contentField[]; protected ChatField(){ super(Manager.HORIZONTAL_SCROLL | Manager.VERTICAL_SCROLL); } // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub} protected synchronized void sublayout(int width, int height) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub setExtent(width, height); int x = 0; int y = 0; if(_contentField.length > 0){ for(int i = 0 ;i<_contentField.length; i++){ //if(getManager() == this){ this.layoutChild(_contentField[i], _contentField[i].getWidth(), _contentField[i].getHeight()); this.setPositionChild(_contentField[i], x, y); if(_contentField[i++]!= null){ if ((_contentField[i].getWidth() + _contentField[i].getWidth()) >= width){ x = 0; y += _contentField[i].getHeight(); } else{ x += _contentField[i].getWidth(); } } //} } } } public void setContentField(Field field[]){ _contentField = field; } } And now, when i create some fields(such as TextField, BitmapField ...) added to ChatField, the program has an error "Field is not a child of this manager". The reason is when the framework invokes the sublayout function of the ChatField class , when sublayout starts calling layoutChild function the manager of field is not ChatField but ChatlayoutManager. I've experience hard time trying to resolve this problem, still I have no solution. Anybody can give me some suggestions? I really appreciate.

  • Generate digital signature using VBA

    - by tputkonen
    I have text cells of arbitrary length in Excel's column A. Using a private key, I want to generate digital signature for data in column A into the cell in column B. I'm looking for a macro implementation for the digital signature algorithm - I don't think one ships with Excel, but is there an addon available? It must be possible to easily verify correctness of the signature in other environments as well.

  • JavaScript (via Greasemonkey) failing to set "title" attributes on <a> tags

    - by rjray
    I have the following (fairly) simple JavaScript snippet that I have wired into Greasemonkey. It goes through a page, looks for <a> tags whose href points to tinyurl.com, and adds a "title" attribute that identifies the true destination of the link. Much of the important code comes from an older (unsupported) Greasemonkey script that quits working when the inner component that held the XPath implementation changed. My script: (function() { var providers = new Array(); providers['tinyurl.com'] = function(link, fragment) { // This is mostly taken from the (broken due to XPath component // issues) tinyurl_popup_preview script. link.title = "Loading..."; GM_xmlhttpRequest({ method: 'GET', url: 'http://preview.tinyurl.com/' + fragment, onload: function(res) { var re = res.responseText.match("<blockquote><b>(.+)</b></blockquote>"); if (re) { link.title = re[1].replace(/\<br \/\>/g, "").replace(/&amp;/g, "&"); } else { link.title = "Parsing failed..."; } }, onerror: function() { link.title = "Connection failed..."; } }); }; var uriPattern = /(tinyurl\.com)\/([a-zA-Z0-9]+)/; var aTags = document.getElementsByTagName("a"); for (i = 0; i < aTags.length; i++) { var data = aTags[i].href.match(uriPattern); if (data != null && data.length > 1 && data[2] != "preview") { var source = data[1]; var fragment = data[2]; var link = aTags[i]; aTags[i].addEventListener("mouseover", function() { if (link.title == "") { (providers[source])(link, fragment); } }, false); } } })(); (The reason the "providers" associative array is set up the way it is, is so that I can expand this to cover other URL-shortening services as well.) I have verified that all the various branches of code are being reached correctly, in cases where the link being examined does and does not match the pattern. What isn't happening, is any change to the "title" attribute of the anchor tags. I've watched this via Firebug, thrown alert() calls in left and right, and it just never changes. In a previous iteration all expressions of the form: link.title = "..."; had originally been: link.setAttribute("title", "..."); That didn't work, either. I'm no newbie to JavaScript OR Greasemonkey, but this one has me stumped!

  • How does Python store lists internally?

    - by Mike Cooper
    How are lists in python stored internally? Is it an array? A linked list? Something else? Or does the interpreter guess at the right structure for each instance based on length, etc. If the question is implementation dependent, what about the classic CPython?

  • Return http 204 "no content" to client in ASP.NET MVC2

    - by Jeremy Raymond
    In an ASP.net MVC 2 app that I have I want to return a 204 No Content response to a post operation. Current my controller method has a void return type, but this sends back a response to the client as 200 OK with a Content-Length header set to 0. How can I make the response into a 204? [HttpPost] public void DoSomething(string param) { // do some operation with param // now I wish to return a 204 no content response to the user // instead of the 200 OK response }
