Is anyone familiar with an online service that would be able to convert such .swf files that our site generates to a video format (say .avi, .mpeg, .mov). Or an application?     I need to import data from an Excel spreadsheet into SQL Server, but the data isn't in a relational/normalized format so the import wizard isn't going to cut it (as far as I know). The data is in this format: Category SubCategory Name Description Category#1 SubCategory#1 Product#1 Description#1 Category#1 SubCategory#1 Product#2 Description#2 Category#1 SubCategory#2 Product#3 Description#3 Category#1 SubCategory#2 Product#4 Description#4 Category#2 SubCategory#3 Product#5 Description#5 (apologies I'm lacking the inventiveness to come up with 'real' data at this time in the morning...) Each row contains a unique product, but the cateogry structure is duplicated. I want to import this data into three tables: Category SubCategory Product (I know SubCategory should really be contained within Category, DB was not my design) I need a way to import unique rows based on the Category and then SubCategory columns, and then when importing the other columns into Product, obtain a reference to the SubCategory based on name. Short of scripting this, is there any way to do it using the import wizard or some other tool?

    This seems like a fairly simple question, and I'm surprised not to have required it before. What is the most efficient way of testing a string input is a numeric (or conversely Not A Number). I guess I can do a Double.Parse or a regex (see below) public static bool IsNumeric(this string value) { return Regex.IsMatch(value, "^\\d+$"); } but I was wondering if there was a implemented way to do it, such as javascript's NaN() or IsNumeric() (was that VB, I can't remember).

  • UDF function with library dependencies on MySQL 5.1

    I'm having a problem with a MySQL UDF function (mychem.sourceforge.net) that's dependent on a large library (openbabel.org) which is in turn plugin based. The problem is that the format plugins to openbabel doesn't seem to load in MySQL 5.1 and I suspect it might be due to the plugin_dir setting. I have set plugin_dir to /usr/lib/ which is the location for both libmychem.so and libopenbabel.so as well as the directory openbabel that contains the format plugins. Is there a way to turn off the plugin_dir restriction in MySQL (preferably without compiling MySQL from sources) so that I can test this hypothesis or do you have a different idea on what might cause the problem? All this is done on Ubuntu 10.04 (but I had the same kind of problems on 8.04, where I managed to get it working after a lot of steps that I unfortunately have forgotten...) I have turned off apparmor during testing and it doesn't help either.

    Is there a better way to write the code below? I have quite a few blocks that are similar, and this is making the code in the Viewpage very messy to work with. The data value with the associated label only needs to be output when certain conditions are met, which is almost always if the value is not null. My problem is to format the comments with br tag to replace \n In fact, i could do something like that s.gsub(/\n/, '<br />') But the xss protection including in rails escapes br tags. So i could do this s.gsub(/\n/, '<br />').html_safe But then, all the tags are accepted even script.... causing a big security problem So my question is : how to format text with br safely ?     I am trying to create a database field merge into a document (rtf) using php i.e if I have a document that starts Dear Sir, Customer Name: [customer_name], Date of order: [order_date] After retrieving the appropriate database record I can use a simple search and replace to insert the database field into the right place. So far so good. I would however like to have a little more control over the data before it is replaced. For example I may wish to Title Case it, or convert a delimited string into a list with carriage returns. I would therefore like to be able to add extra formatting commands to the field to be replaced. e.g. Dear Sir, Customer Name: [customer_name, TC], Date of order: [order_date, Y/M/D] There may be more than one formatting command per field. Is there a way that I can now search for these strings? The format of the strings is not set in stone, so if I have to change the format then I can. Any suggestions appreciated.

    Consider a grocery store scenario (I'm making this up) where you have FACT records that represent a sale transaction, where the columns of the Fact table include SaleItemFact Table ------------------ CustomerID ProductID Price DistributorID DateOfSale Etc Etc Etc Even if there are duplicates in the table when you consider ALL the keys, I would contend that a surrogate running numeric key (i.e. identity column) should be made up, e.g., TransactionNumber of type Integer. I can see someone arguing that a Fact table might not have a unique key (though I'd invent one and waste the 4 bytes, but how about a dimension table?

    Hi, I'm learning web development, and I don't know how do this simple thing. I've a html form with "text", "radio" and "checkbox" controls, that POST the values to the server and it saves them, for example in a file. I save the POST in raw format: key=value&key=value&key=value&key=value and I'd like that when the user open the form back, return the form with the saved values already in the controls. Is there any neat way to do this? Or should I parse the POST string and set the values one by one in the controls at the server level? I think, I could return the saved data in a hidden input control, and after with a javascript I could do a getElementById(key) and set the value to each input control... but do I need to put the post string in a special format? How would you do it? Thank you in advance.

  • Autounattend.xml not being recognized in VirtualBox

    I am working my way through the steps on this page to prepare an unattended installation of Windows 7 Enterprise x64 for purposes of a college assignment which simply requires the process to be carried out and documented. Both the "technician" and "reference" computers are virtual machines created in VirtualBox 4.3.12, as will be the destination computer. I seem to have successfully completed Step 1, building an Autounattend.xml answer file using Windows System Image Manager, in as far as the answer file validates successfully. The problem arises when I try to install Windows on the reference machine from the DVD image in conjunction with the Autounattend file on a USB drive. I have tried a couple of different USB devices, and the devices themselves seem to be recognized, but the answer file does not, as instead of taking the configuration settings from the file the user interface appears as in a manual installation. Has anyone come across this problem or a solution?     I have an XML file that I use for storing and displaying recipes that I collect, but that same XML file also has updates for the site at the top of it. How would I, say, use Recipes.xsl to transform Recipes.xml for display as an actual website, and use RecipesRSS.xsl to transform Recipes.xml into Recipes.rss?     When a cell in a spreadsheet contains a simple date (mm/dd/yyyy) the poi API flags the cell-type as 'numeric'. This is probably because spreadsheets ( IMO ) historically recognize only strings and real numbers. It is possible to hard-code the cell-index, and use it conditionally to call 'getDateCellValue'. But this feels like a hack. What other ways are there in the poi API to determine whether the content in a cell is a Date rather than a real number?

  • Link to pdf within app

    I've got an iOS app that at one point opens a link to a website in a webview. These links are kept in a plist file (so it is easy to maintain them as the app evolves). What I want to do next is to also link to PDF's (or any picture of text file format, of even a html format, this is flexible) that are kept within the app. And I would like to do this as much as possible from within the existing app structure. So, is it possible to create a link that can be put in the plist as a web-link, but instead opens a file on the device itself (possibly in the webview)? And how would I go about that? Any ideas?
