    I need to take an HTML page in Arabic and convert it to a PDF. itextsharp doesn't work. On the server side (Asp.Net) I would like to merge the data that I receive in xml format with the empty pdf form that was filled and save it. As I have found there are several possible ways of doing it: Using pdf form created by adobe acrobat and filling it with itextsharp. Using pdf form created by adobe acrobat and filling it with FDF Toolkit .net (which seems to be using itextsharp internally) Usd pdfkt to fill the form. Use pdf form file created with adobe livecycle and merge the data by using Form Data Integration Service As I have no experience with this kind of task can you advise which option would be better/easier and give some additional tips?     I have created a new custom list form that will show 4 fields on the page from a Custom List called "Shipment". I have added Form Action button that I would like to run a custom action that is set inside of a Workflow. Currently, the form displays the fields for "Manifest Number", "Pickup Location", "Delivery Location", & "Scheduled Pickup Time". When the user clicks the Form Action button, what I want the Workflow to do is go to the ID field of the displayed content in the Form and change the value of the "Picked Up" column from No to Yes. The problem I am having is passing the ID of the displayed information from the Form to the Workflow as a variable. I can get the "Picked Up" column to update if I specify the value in the "Update List Item" window under the "Find the List Item" section, but I cannot figure out how to do this dynamically from the Form

    We have a service that generates a report (using word templates and a 3rd party library), and then returns a string in HTML. While this HTML isn't great - its formatted correctly in this string. We want this HTML to show up on a page - format intact. What we currently have done is set an ASP.net Literal's text element to this string. While this works, I have noticed that it has reformatted the HTML string slightly. For the most part, it looks like it generated a bunch of new CSS classes, and a new style element in the HTML. This HTML does not exist in the string thats being returned. I could filter all of this back out, but wonder if there is a better way. I assume that the Page itself is altering something. What is the best way to display this raw HTML back to the user? I can't directly use a Response.Write(string), because this page does have a few other controls on it.

    I'm instantiating and calling Form B from Form A. FormB has some custom properties, to allow me to pass it things like sqlAdaptors and dataset instances. When i instantiate and show Form B from Form A as a dialog form with a Using statement, it all works fine, but i find the properties i pass are not available in Form B until after the form_load event has fired. I was under the impression the properties when passed to a instantiated class should be available from a constructor, but this is not the case. If it try to access the properties before the form load event i get a null reference exception. Is this correct behavior ?

If I should need for what ever reason to have a physical file such as file_abc.html how do I exclude it from the redirect rule? I am thinking I should just use ISAPI_Rewrite http://www.isapirewrite.com/ there seems to be a ton of resources out there for rewriting with htaccess and very little online help for using IIS 7 URL rewrite.     I'm trying to post the entire asp.net form to a certain url. I have tried: $.post("http://www.someaddress.com", $("form").serialize()); I have also tried: $.ajax({ type:"POST", url:"http://www.someaddress.com", data: $('form').serialize(), success: function(){ alert('yay'); } }); In both cases the submit is fine but no data is passed along with it. When i test the form.serialize() in firebug console, this shows my form serialized just fine. When i view the submit in fiddler, i can see that the data part is not set. Maybe im not understanding the data part, but every single tutorial shows this as the way to go - serialize the form and set that as data. What must i do to get my serialized form as the data in my request? What am i missing? Also - why does the NET tab in firebug show all these requests as method OPTIONS?

    Hello, I'm doing the following: First, inject HTML into the page (a lot) which then increases the window scrollbar: $("#XXXX").html("LOTS OF HTML").show(); Then i want to scroll down to the end of the page: window.scrollTo(0,$(document).height()); Problem is the page never scrolls down. I did some console.logging and the scrollTo is running before the HTML from the inject html() is run. I tried this in the JS which injects the HTML, I then tried doing the scroll inside the HTML inject but that made no difference. Any ideas?

    Hello, I have a page of products and for each of them, I want to have a form that uses AJAX to update the session. I've done this bit - just providing background. I use the product's ID to create a different form class and name for each form, so each form is called something like this_form_name_567 and the next would be this_form_name_568 and so on. There is a submit button per form. I'm having trouble figuring out a) which event is best to use so that the correct form will be identified when a submit button is clicked, b) once clicked, how to then make sure the correct value is taken from a hidden field (unique ID) within the submitted form so that I can populate a line of code such as: $.post("compare_response.php", {compare_this: $("#compare_this").val()}, function(data){ } Any help would be greatly appreciated.     I am displaying some HTML text in an Adobe AIR Application that I do not want the user to be able to cut and paste. How do I make the HTML control disallow highlighting of the HTML without disabling the ScrollBars. mouseChildren=false works but disables the scrollbars which is unacceptable. Right now I have: <mx:HTML location="http://dexter/preview.html" width="100%" height="100%" id="PreviewArea" x="0" y="0" tabEnabled="false" tabChildren="false" focusEnabled="false" focusRect="null"/> But it's not working properly either. I have also tried overlaying a disabled transparent text control over the top of the HTML component, but the user is still able to tab to the HTML and use the keyboard controls to copy the text to the clipboard. Any hints?

    I'm trying to make a form that handles the checking of a domain: the form should fail based on a variable that was set earlier in another form. Basically, when a user wants to create a new domain, this form should fail if the entered domain exists. When a user wants to move a domain, this form should fail if the entered domain doesn't exist. I've tried making it dynamic overload the initbut couldn't see a way to get my passed variabele to the clean function. I've read that this dynamic validation can be accomplished using a factory method, but maybe someone can help me on my way with this?   • form data posted using linq-to-sql not showing until I refresh the page

    I have an asp.net mvc app with a form. When you submit the form, it adds records to the sql database with linq-to-sql. After adding the records, the controller displays the form again, and should show those new values on the form. But, when it displays the form, the values are blank, until you refresh the page. While tracing through the code, I can see the records being added to the database when they are submitted, but the view doesnt display them, unless I refresh. The view is not the problem, it just displays the view model, which is missing the new records immediately after the post. I know this is kind of vague, but wasnt sure what parts of code to include here. Could this have something to do with data context life cycle? Basically, there is a data context created when the form is posted, then a different data context is created in the method that displays the form. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

  • I am making a maze type of game using javascript and HTML and need some questions answered [on hold]

    First off, i am a noob to JavaScript but am willing to learn. :) I found a simple JavaScript moment engine created by another member on this site. Using that i made it so my character can walk around within a rectangle/square shaped room. I want to make it so the character can walk through a "doorway" within a wall to the next room. Either that or make it so if the character moves over a certain image within the room it will take the player to another webpage in which the character "spawns" into the room and so on and so fourth.     I use jmeter to record requests and then perform a performance test after it records all the requests with proxy server. These requests contain a post form. After that I run the test cases, but I found the post form doesn't work -- it cannot create a record in the website's database automatically. But before that I used Webload and everything was OK. What's the problem? What can I do for this?

    Hi, i'm trying to hide the post titles using this plugin http://mtekk.weblogs.us/code/breadcrumb-navxt/ so i want to show the full breadcrumbs always, except when entering to a post, in there, i just wanna hide the post's title, i find it's code kind'a confusing, i managed to hide the "current page title" but not the "post title" only specifically... anybody with any experience on this?...
