  • Return/consume dynamic anonymous type across assembly boundaries

    - by friism
    The code below works great. If the Get and Use methods are in different assemblies, the code fails with a RuntimeBinderException. This is because the .Net runtime system only guarantees commonality of anonymous types (<string, int> in this case) within assemblies. Is there any way to fool the runtime system to overcome this? I can expect the object in the debugger on the Use side, and the debugger can see the relevant properties. class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { UsePerson(); Console.ReadLine(); } public static void UsePerson() { var person = GetPerson(); Console.WriteLine(person.Name); } public static dynamic GetPerson() { return new { Name = "Foo", Age = 30 }; } }

  • Comma-separated value insertion In SQL Server 2005

    - by Asim Sajjad
How can I insert values from a comma-separated input parameter with a stored procedure? For example: exec StoredProcedure Name 17,'127,204,110,198',7,'162,170,163,170' you can see that I have two comma-separated value lists in the parameter list. Both will have the same number of values: if the first has 5 comma-separated values, then the second one also has 5 comma-separated values. 127 and 162 are related 204 and 170 are related ...and same for the others. How can I insert these two values? One comma-separated value is inserted, but how do I insert two?

  • [PHP] access array element by value

    - by Brandon
array( [0] name => 'joe' size => 'large' [1] name => 'bill' size => 'small' ) I think i'm being thick, but to get the attributes of an array element if I know the value of one of the keys, I'm first looping through the elements to find the right one. foreach($array as $item){ if ($item['name'] == 'joe'){ #operations on $item } } I'm aware that this is probably very poor, but I am fairly new and am looking for a way to access this element directly by value. Or do I need the key? Thanks, Brandon

  • Saving a "project"-type document (containing sub-documents)

    - by andyvn22
I'm trying to create a "project"-like document, in that it contains subdocuments in a specified directory. I'd like a brand new save of a document to set up that directory with appropriate subdirectories. I'd like a "Save As" to copy all those subdirectories and any files within them to the new location. But I'd like a "Save" to only update certain data files and (of course) not overwrite all the subdocuments! What's the "safe" way to do this? I tried keeping track of the file's location in my document, and checking to see if it was the same or different than the save location, but it feels messy, and I'm worried that Apple is doing something behind the scenes that will make this direct URL-to-URL comparison fail in some circumstances. Is there a standard way to do something like this?

  • Check if BigDecimal is integer value

    - by Adamski
Can anyone recommend an efficient way of determining whether a BigDecimal is an integer value in the mathematical sense? At present I have the following code: private boolean isIntegerValue(BigDecimal bd) { boolean ret; try { bd.toBigIntegerExact(); ret = true; } catch (ArithmeticException ex) { ret = false; } return ret; } ... but would like to avoid the object creation overhead if necessary. Previously I was using bd.longValueExact() which would avoid creating an object if the BigDecimal was using its compact representation internally, but obviously would fail if the value was too big to fit into a long. Any help appreciated.

  • Let the user choose what type of document to open

    - by Koning Baard XIV
I'm creating an NSDocument application, with two document types: Website and Webservice. This is in my Info.plist: <key>CFBundleDocumentTypes</key> <array> <dict> <key>CFBundleTypeName</key> <string>Website</string> <key>CFBundleTypeExtensions</key> <array> <string>website</string> </array> <key>LSTypeIsPackage</key> <true/> <key>CFBundleTypeRole</key> <string>Editor</string> <key>LSHandlerRank</key> <string>Default</string> <key>NSDocumentClass</key> <string>AWWebSite</string> </dict> <dict> <key>CFBundleTypeName</key> <string>Web Service</string> <key>CFBundleTypeExtensions</key> <array> <string>webservice</string> </array> <key>LSTypeIsPackage</key> <true/> <key>CFBundleTypeRole</key> <string>Editor</string> <key>LSHandlerRank</key> <string>Default</string> <key>NSDocumentClass</key> <string>AWWebService</string> </dict> </array> Now, whenever the user opens the application, selects the 'New' item from the menubar, or clicks the Dock icon while there are no open windows, I want to show a window with two options, each for one of the document types. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks

  • how subsonic SP should return a value

    - by android.sm
Hi all, I'm very much new to SubSonic and need a little guidance. Here, I want to know how my SP should return a value. Currently, when I execute it I simply pass an Int and it returns me a string value. Here is code: SubSonic SP: public static StoredProcedure GetQuote(int? CategoryId) { StoredProcedure sp = new StoredProcedure("GetQuote", DataService.GetInstance("Quotes Provider"), "dbo"); sp.Command.AddParameter("@CategoryId", CategoryId, DbType.Int32, 0, 10); return sp; } My Code: public bool GetQuote(int category, out string quote) { bool val = false; quote = ""; try { StoredProcedure sp = SPs.GetQuote(category); if (sp != null) { sp.Execute(); val = true; } } catch (Exception err) { throw err; } return val; } Thanks all

  • Databinding a StructuredPropertyEditor specific to type and target in Spring(Grails) - Selective app

    - by Colin Harrington
Using Grails 1.2.2, I'm working on binding a structured property (CC expiration Date) to a java.util.Date but only for specific Domain and Commands objects. I've found the StructuredPropertyEditor interface, but the only way that I've found to register it is to use the PropertyEditorRegistrar and register the editor for the java.util.Date class (much like this example) I don't want all of my dates to use my custom StructuredPropertyEditor. How do I apply the StructuredPropertyEditor selectively to specific targets like certain Command & Domain Classes?

  • Convert date time value to expected with SimpleDateFormat

    - by Khoi Nguyen
I have an issue with converting a date time value to expected one with SimpleDateFormat (java), my expected format is MM/yyyy, and I want to convert 2 values to only 1 format MM-yyyy for example 05-2012 yyyy-MM for example 2012-05 ouput is 05/2012. I implemented something look like following String expiry = "2012-01"; try { result = convertDateFormat(expiry, "MM-yyyy", expectedFormat); } catch (ParseException e) { try { result = convertDateFormat(expiry, "yyyy-MM", expectedFormat); } catch (ParseException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } e.printStackTrace(); } private String convertDateFormat(String date, String oPattern, String ePattern) throws ParseException { SimpleDateFormat normalFormat = new SimpleDateFormat(oPattern); Date d = normalFormat.parse(date); SimpleDateFormat cardFormat = new SimpleDateFormat(ePattern); return cardFormat.format(d); } Now, the return value is 6808, I don't know why. Kindly anyone help me on this case.

  • Programmatically manipulating DOM element value doesn't fire onchange event

    - by Johan Fredrik Varen
Hi all. I've got a hidden form field, and when a button gets pressed the value of the hidden field is changed. Now, I've added an observer to the hidden field, listening for changes to occur. For some reason, though, the event listener never kicks in, even though the value of the hidden element changes. I'm using Prototype and Firefox 3.6. The code looks roughly like this: button.observe('click', function(event) { hiddenField.setValue(someValue); }); hiddenField.observe('change', function(event) { alert('It works!'); }); Does anyone have a clue why the latter observer doesn't execute? Thanks!

  • Retrieving the type of a Collection

    - by nevets1219
So I have something like the following in Java: private List<SomeType>variable; // ....variable is instantiated as so ... variable = new ArrayList<SomeType>(); // there's also a getter public List<SomeType> getVariable() { /* code */ } What I would like to be able to do is figure out that variable is a collection of SomeType programmatically. I read here that I can determine that from the method getVariable() but is there any way to tell directly from variable? I have been able to retrieve SomeType from the getter method based on the information in the link. I have also been successful in retrieving all the fields of the surrounding class via SurroundingClass.getClass().getDeclaredFields() but this doesn't tell me that it is List<SomeType>.

  • Databinding to type double - decimal mark lost

    - by user1277327
I have a project where I'm databinding a gridview to a list, where one column is databound to a gridview. The problem I have is that with the double being 5.5 on one computer it appears as 5.5 in the gridview. But on another it looks like 55, the decimal mark dissapears. So 3.14 will look like 314 etc. The error occurs with the following code: myDatagrid.ItemsSource = someList; Binding binding = new Binding("DoubleValue"); myColumnInDatagrid.Binding = binding; I've also tried using a very simple valueconverter, that just return the double, and parsed it in ConvertBack. I'm pretty new to WPF so I'm sorry if I've made some obvious mistakes, I just don't understand why it works on one computer but not on the other. Perhaps it should be noted that both of the computers use the same operating system, with the same language settings (afaik at least).

  • AssociationTypeMismatch with Expected Type on Nested Model Forms

    - by Craig Walker
I'm getting this exception when doing a nested model form: ActiveRecord::AssociationTypeMismatch in RecipesController#update Ingredient(#35624480) expected, got Ingredient(#34767560) The models involved are Recipe and Ingredient. Recipe has_many and accepts_nested_attributes_for :ingredients, which belongs_to :recipe. I get this exception when attempting to _destroy (=1) one of the preexisting Ingredients on a nested Ingredient form for the Recipe Edit/Update. This makes very little sense, mostly because the association types are as expected (by the exception's own admission). What makes even less sense is that it works just fine in a functional test. Any ideas what might be causing this, or what I should be looking for?

  • Accessing the value of a Richfaces calendar during validation.

    - by JBristow
I am trying to validate a field based on another field's value. <h:form id="item"> <s:validateAll/> <h:selectBooleanCheckbox id="selected" value="#{bean.selected}" validator="selectedValidator"/> <rich:calendar id="startDate" value="#{bean.startDate}"/> </h:form> However, inside my validator. public void validate(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) throws ValidatorException { UIInput startComp = (UIInput) context.getViewRoot().findComponent("item:startDate"); if(value != null && value) { // Check value of startComp and throw exception if null or empty. } } The component startComp resolves, but has no value. Where is the value that appears in the text box of the richfaces calendar component?

  • Stumbleupon type query...

    - by Chris Denman
Wow, makes your head spin! I am about to start a project, and although my mySql is OK, I can't get my head around what required for this: I have a table of web addresses. id,url 1,http://www.url1.com 2,http://www.url2.com 3,http://www.url3.com 4,http://www.url4.com I have a table of users. id,name 1,fred bloggs 2,john bloggs 3,amy bloggs I have a table of categories. id,name 1,science 2,tech 3,adult 4,stackoverflow I have a table of categories the user likes as numerical ref relating to the category unique ref. For example: user, category 1,4 1,6 1,7 1,10 2,3 2,4 3,5 . . . I have a table of scores relating to each website address. When a user visits one of these sites and says they like it, it's stored like so: url_ref,category 4,2 4,3 4,6 4,2 4,3 5,2 5,3 . . . So based on the above data, URL 4 would score (in it's own right) as follows: 2=2 3=2 6=1 What I was hoping to do was pick out a random URL from over 2,000,000 records based on the current users interests. So if the logged in user likes categories 1,2,3 then I would like to ORDER BY a score generated based on their interest. If the logged in user likes categories 2 3 and 6 then the total score would be 5. However, if the current logged in user only like categories 2 and 6, the URL score would be 3. So the order by would be in context of the logged in users interests. Think of stumbleupon. I was thinking of using a set of VIEWS to help with sub queries. I'm guessing that all 2,000,000 records will need to be looked at and based on the id of the url it will look to see what scores it has based on each selected category of the current user. So we need to know the user ID and this gets passed into the query as a constant from the start. Ain't got a clue! Chris Denman
