  • Combining DocumentRoot and proxypass in Apache Web server

    I have an application running on tomcat and fronted with Apache. My server name is www.abc.com so in my vHost setting I have DocumentRoot /home/user/www.abc.com ServeName www.abc.com ProxyPass /app http://localhost:8080/app ProxyPassReverse /app http://localhost:8080/app The DocumentRoot has a static file index.html, which I would like to serve when www.abc.com is requested and all other requests should be directed to tomcat via the proxypass. Which is the easiest way to achieve this? Thanks

  • inkscape stroke inaccurate

    I am trying to add a stroke to a rectangle object, but if I add a 1px stroke, it places it 0.5px outside the edge of the rectangle and 0.5px inside the rectangle. I find this to be annoying when I want an object to be exactly 5px by 5px and it ends up becoming 6px by 6px. Is there a setting anywhere which places the stroke within the rectangle edge so a 5px by 5px square remains a 5px by 5px square. Please help.

  • What's the proper way to setup a client chosen domain name?

    In my web app, I'm toying with the idea of giving my user the opportunity to select a subdomain of their choosing, so they could select something like: foobar.myapp.com where foobar is their chosen subdomain. What is the proper way to go about setting up something like this? .htaccess? Have some api for writing virtual hosts? The application would still always map to one directory on my sever, I just want to give theme a custom URL.

With the Program Files and User Folders moved to a Second regular HD Drive also configured using Raid 1. Or Setup a single SSD Drive (120 GB or 256 gb) as a cache Drive using Intel Rapid Storage Technology combined with two normal hard drives configured as Raid 1. Which setup would have the faster hard drive performance over the life of the computer?

    is there a way to import windows mouse settings to ubuntu 10.04. I really love ubuntu but my laptop touchpad is driving me crazy. for e.g. I can not seem to drag the window frame properly etc... On my current computer, I have it go to outlook, and all the folders pop up fine. But I set that up 4 years ago, and now I'm setting up a new laptop and have no idea how to get it going again.     I have an OpenSolaris machine here; I'm using it for the first time because I want to try out ZFS. ZFS itself is working great, but I cannot get opensolaris to authenticate against our openldap directory running on Linux with md5 or sha passwords; only crypt passwords work. I'd prefer not to have to use crypt passwords; is there some magic setting I'm missing that will enable md5 passwords to authenticate?

    I'm using mod_rewrite to rewrite URLs like this: http://example.com/1,2,3,4/foo/ By doing this in .htaccess: RewriteRule ^([\d,]+)/foo/$ /foo.php?id=$1 [L,QSA] It works fine, except for when "1,2,3,4" turns into a string longer than 255 characters, Apache returns a "403 Forbidden". Is there some apache setting I should tweak?

  • Removing phantom applications from Application Pools in IIS7

    I have an application in one of my application pools that has a virtual path of '/Site/login.aspx'. I want to remove it but it no longer exists on my computer and it's causing me issues setting up AppFabric. I understand that you can remove these phantom applications by recreating the application in IIS and then hitting Remove. That will get rid of the application from the pool but in this case I can't recreate the application due to the /login.aspx in the virtual path Any ideas how I remove this erroneous entry? Thanks

  • Photoshop CS6 - spacebar shortcut for hand tool has stopped working

    In Photoshop CS6, the default behavior of depressing the spacebar as a shortcut for the Hand tool was working as expected, then stopped for no apparent reason. I have rebooted, closed browsers, shut down all other applications and deleted preferences and the problem persists. The spacebar works properly elsewhere, including Photoshop CS4. Is there a keyboard shortcut setting I'm missing (I've checked Edit - Keyboard Shortcuts and can find nothing for the spacebar, and can not add it to the Hand tool). This is on OSX Lion 10.7.4

  • Opening Python in CMD (Unfixable Error)

    I recently tried opening one of my Python projects with CMD to see what would happen. The result did nothing amazing, but Windows 7 thought I wanted to open .py files in CMD all the time. I have tried everything, setting it back to python.exe does not work, I even went to Control Panel to see if it could help, but Control Panel couldn't help either.   • Function keys require Fn modifer. How can I make them default?

    On my Dell Studio 15, the function keys, by default, do things like switch the radio on/off or change the brightness or sound. To use them as function keys I have to hold down the Fn modifier. I use function keys as function keys a lot more often than I want to change the volume or brightness. Am I missing an obvious setting somewhere in the control panel (Vista Uber Extreme Something)?

    I understand that setting the maximum number of connections available in a connection pool should be the same as your maxThreads configured for your Tomcat server (which correlates to the number of requests that can be handled) For tomcat the default is 200, I assume there is a maximum that you can safely configure for your Tomcat server before things start getting out of control, which I assume is also governed by the resources of the machine it is running on. I am trying to get an understanding of the size of maxThreads that people are using with success, is 1000 too big?

    I wanted to change the setting for a virtual host in a hurry I knew how to "just do it" but I'm not very familiar with the restrictions of the cpanel system. I read the theory of the config system and regardless of my feelings on the matter I understand where they are coming from. However in that world view, there must be a way to interact with the system from a command line interface, not just for httpd.conf but for the virtual host containers as well EDIT: reworded this question a bit to show I was talking about a virtual host container.
