• SqlLite/Fluent NHibernate integration test harness initialization not repeatable after large data se

  In one of my main data integration test harnesses I create and use Fluent NHibernate's SingleConnectionSessionSourceForSQLiteInMemoryTesting, to get a fresh session for each test. After each test, I close the connection, session, and session factory, and throw out the nested StructureMap container they came from. This works for almost any simple data integration test I can think, including ones that utilize Fluent NHib's PersistenceSpecification object. When I test the application's lengthy database bootstrapping process, which creates and saves thousands of domain objects, I start seeing issues. It's not that the setup and tear down fails, in fact, the test successfully bootstraps the in-memory database as the application would bootstrap the real database in the production environment. The problem occurs when the database bootstrapping occurs a second time on a new in-memory database, with a new session and session factory. The error is: NHibernate.StaleStateException : Unexpected row count: 0; expected: 1 The row count is indeed Unexpected, the row that the application under test is looking for should be in the session. You see, it's not that any data from the last integration test is sticking around, it's that for some reason the session just stops working mid-database-boostrap. And I've looked everywhere for a place I might be holding on to an old session and I can't find one. I've searched through the code for static singleton objects, but there are none anywhere near the code in question. I have a couple StructureMap InstanceScope singleton's but they are getting thrown out with each nested container that is lost after every test teardown. I've tried every possible variation on disposing and closing every object involved with each test teardown and it still fails on this lengthy database bootstrap. But non-bootstrap related database tests appear to work fine. I'm starting to run out of options and may have to surrender lengthy database integration tests in favor of WatiN-based acceptance tests. Can anyone give me any clue about how I can figure out why some of my SingleConnectionSessionSourceForSQLiteInMemoryTesting aren't repeatable? Any advice at all, about how to make an NHibernate SqlLite database integration test harness repeatable?

  Our toolkit has over 15000 JUnit tests, and many tests are known to fail if some other test fails. For example, if the method X.foo() uses functionality from Y.foo() and YTest.testFoo() fails, then XTest.testFoo() will fail too. Obviously, XTest.testFoo() can also fail because of problems specific to X.foo(). While this is fine and I still want both tests run, it would be nice if one could annotate a test dependency with XTest.testFoo() pointing to YTest.testFoo(). This way, one could immediately see what functionality used by X.foo() is also failing, and what not. Is there such annotation available in JUnit or elsewhere? Something like: public YTests { @Test @DependsOn(method=org.example.tests.YTest#testFoo) public void testFoo() { // Assert.something(); } }

• jQuery drag drop slower for more DIV items

  Hi there, I have got a hierarchichal tags (with parent child relationship) in my page and it will account to 500 - 4500 (can even grow). When i bound the draggable and droppable for all i saw very bad performance in IE7 and IE6. The custom helper wont move smoothly and was very very slow. Based on some other post i have made the droppable been bound/unbound on mouseover and mouseout events (dynamically). Its better now. But still i dont see the custom helper move very smoothly there is a gap between the mouse cursor and the helper when they move and gets very bad when i access the site from remote. Please help me to address this performance issue. Am totally stuck here.. :(

• jQuery hover function

  So I have a hover function that is supposed to move an arrow under the corrent the link that someone hovers over. The problem is, the arrow never returns to the current link when the person stops hovering over the link. However, if I set the left properly with a constant value it works.   Hi, I am creating hotel booking system which requires lots of modal dialogs. For this purpose I am using jqueryUI dialog widget. yesterday I embedded it on one of the features of application but this time when dialog opens upon click then its Header is very large about 300-400px in height where as normal header is about 40px in height. Everywhere in the application it is still working fine but at only place it is giving such error. Css is also identical at all places. If anybody knows how to fix this issue then please post here. • Is it possible to compile IronRuby code to a .NET assembly (EXE or DLL)

  My scenario consists of the following points. I have a packaged software product I am developing in C# Since it is a packaged product, the public interfaces of the assemblies need to be tightly controlled... All assemblies are strong-named Any classes that don't absolutely have to be "public" are "internal" I want to write unit tests for those "internal" classes, since they are the bulk of the code And finally.... I want to try writing the unit tests in Ruby. Since the unit tests would be external to the assembly containing the code under test, the assemblies under test would each need to have an "InternalsVisibleTo" attribute specifying the name of the unit test assembly. Which of course would mean that the Ruby unit tests would have to compile down to a .NET assembly so they can be given access in this way. Can this be done? If so, how? All I can find on the web about "compiling IronRuby" is about building the actual IronRuby runtime from source.

• Jquery Datepicker not selecting the default date

It is supposed to be replaced with some code. However, the datepicker refuses to pick the date up! It always shows me the current date. Unable to figure out why. I even tried giving the date in string and +7 etc. But today's date itself is shown as the default date. What could be causing this?

  I want to cleanup the database after every test case without rolling back the transaction. I have tried DBUnit's DatabaseOperation.DELETE_ALL, but it does not work if a deletion violates a foreign key constraint. I know that I can disable foreign key checks, but that would also disable the checks for the tests (which I want to prevent). I'm using JUnit 4, JPA 2.0 (Eclipselink), and Derby's in-memory database.   I downloaded Rhino Security today and started going through some of the tests. Several that run perfectly in isolation start getting errors after one that purposely raises an exception runs though. I was spending more time on seting up the data than to write my unit test. • Ruby fixtures error with password column

  I am trying to load a fixture for my tests which has a password column (binary datatype). The tool i am using uses EzCrypto gem for encrypting and decrypting passwords before they are stored/retrieved. Now if my column is binary i thought rails would automatically store the password as encrypted - but all i get is: 1) Error: test_is_working(FirstTest): RuntimeError: Failed to decode the field. • JQUERY Effect highlight, control the Start & End colors

Problem is the highlight goes from Yellow to white, and has this ugly slow pause at the end on the white which makes the animation look horrible.   Hello, I'm using jquery to animate a bit my web site, but I'm having a little issue with some behaviour: I have a div, which suddenly appears from the top of the page and shakes: $(minipopup).animate({ marginTop: '+=' + (240) + 'px' }, 1000); $(minipopup).effect("shake"); This mini popup has an X for closing it, or else, it will auto close after a few seconds: setTimeout(function() { $('#minipopup').effect("explode"); }, 10000); $('#closePopup').click(function() { $('#minipopup').effect("explode"); }); Everything works, except that, if the user clicks the CLOSE button, he sees the explode effect and the popup effectively dissapears, but after the 10 seconds pass (the one I defined under the setTimeout), the user again sees the popup explosion (just the effect, cause the popup is not there visually). How could I avoid that "ghost" explosion if the user already closed the popup manually? Thanks in advance.

• Google Toolbox For Mac with Core Data on iPhone results in error

  I have set up my project for using Google Toolbox for Mac as described on official wiki. And everything is working as expected. For core data usage I have created a 'database' class that uses for final application SQLite storage (this is done based on Xcode template code). For unit tests I have created separate init method for 'database' to use in memory storage (storage url is [NSURL URLWithString:@"memory://store"] and type NSInMemoryStoreType). Without adding my model file (*.xcdatamodel) to unit tests target, test fail in expected place with message: executeFetchRequest:error: A fetch request must have an entity. If I add model file to the test target, then test is executed as expected (core data part looks OK), but after tests execution I get: RunIPhoneUnitTest.sh: line 123: 9487 Segmentation fault "$TARGET_BUILD_DIR/$EXECUTABLE_PATH" -RegisterForSystemEvents Command /bin/sh failed with exit code 139 This problem does not looks directly related to core data, but only happens if model file is added to target. Any pointers on resolving this issue would be appreciated!

  Hello, I'm (re)writing a program that does generic unit test scheduling. The current program is a mono-threaded Perl program, but I'm willing to modularize it and parallelize the tests. I'm also considering rewriting it in Python. Here is what I need to do: I have a list of tests, with the following attributes: uri: a URI to test (could be HTTP/HTTPS/SSH/local) ; depends: an associative array of tests/values that this test depends on ; join: a list of DB joints to be added when selecting items to process in this test ; depends_db: additional conditions to add to the DB request when selecting items to process in this test. The program builds a dependency tree, beginning with the tests that have no dependencies ; for each test: a list of items is selected from the database using the conditions (results of depending tests, joints and depends_db) ; the list of items is sent to the URI (using POST or stdin) ; the result is retrived as a YAML file listing the state and comments for the test for each tested item ; the results are stored in the DB ; the test returns, allowing depending tests to be performed. the program generates reports (CSV, DB, graphviz) of the performed tests. The primary use of this program currently is to test a fleet of machines against services such as backup, DNS, etc. The tests can then be: - backup: hosted on the backup machine(s), called through HTTP, checks if the machines' backup went well ; - DNS: hosted on the local machine, called via stdin, checks if the machines' fqdn have a valid DNS entry. Does such a tool/module already exist? What would be the best implementation to achieve this (using Perl or Python)?
