  • Background is flashing upon load momentarily

    I have a div (.header) contained within other divs. When my page loads, momentarily just that one .header div "flashes" white as the page is loading, especially in in Firefox, but a little bit in IE8 too. I can't find what kind of CSS or lack thereof is causing this - there's no images or background color associated with that div. There is a logo.png within the .header.   • youtube video on Mac os?

    I have inserted a video from youtube into a DIV tag, used the actual "embed" code found on youtube site. and used jquery to show/hide the div. when activated, the flash video shows perfectly in the div, when clicked it plays as usual the only problem i have is when someone using a Mac, and clicks on play, the flash video disappears. this happened on many Mac computers regardles of the browser being in use ( none Firefox neither Safari are working ) although i have tested it on all general browsers on windows and it works fine

  • jQuery .ajax doesn't load Google Adsense

    Hey Everyone, Just ran into an odd issue. I have a simple WP loop and instead of regular NEXT/BACK pages, I use a jQuery powered $.ajax get to append the following page to the current page. It works perfectly. However, I choose to insert a Google Adsense unit every 5th story. Unfortunately, the Adsense unit that is brought in with a second, third, or etc page load don't render. But when i open IE8 its so slow when i put my mouse cursor on another menu area.   • With custom binding for Masonry how would I resize the container appropriately

    Based on the suggestion give here, and the information given here on how to make a custom bindingHandler for a forEach, I decided to attempt to write my own custom binding for a forEach and Masonry. Because the elements are added on the fly the redrawing and moving around of elements to fill the space doesn't occur. So, this functionality needed to be moved after the elements have been rendered or called after each item has been added.   • Weird behaviour of jquery's hide/show with the 'slide' effect. How to change?

    When doing $('.mydiv').show('slide', {direction:up}, 1500); //syntax may be a little off jQuery seems to - just before starting the animation - make room for the soon to be showed div. This creates a non-smooth effect making all elements below the showed div shift away in one big go. I would like to see the elements below the div move away as the div is animated/showed. The jQuery native hide()/show() function works like this, how come the slide effect of hide/show doesn't? Anyone knows how to fix it?

    hello folks! i have a construction like this: <div id="container"> <span> <span></span> </span> <span> <span></span> </span> </div> i need to catch the mouseout event of the container, so i made jquery do this: $("#container").hover('',function(){ alert("Out"); }); In Firefox / Opera, it only fires the mouseout-function when leaving the div (how I want it). In IE it fires the mouseout-function at every -Tag inside of the div the mouse hits. (maybe important is, that the span tags have also mouseover and out events) Anyone has an idea how to solve this? (The nested structure cant be changed because a complex layout) thx4 any ideas!

  • How to make bottom half of a page take up remaining height?

    I've searched and tried a bunch of different things. I have a variable-height tophalf, and the bottom half should fill up the remaining space.
