    Well, let me explain this briefly: 1.I want to build a website that provides location based services, like http://fireeagle.yahoo.net/ . 2.I guess most of these services have something do with longitude and latitude. 3.Is there any particular database/datastore/data structures fit well for such apps?   • If you use MVC in your web app then you dont need to use Smarty(TemplateEngine) Right?

    I'm just trying to understand the Templating(system). If you use MVC in your web application then you don't need to use something like Smarty(template engine) as you are already separating application code from presentation code anyway by using MVC right? please correct me? So am i correct in thinking it's MVC OR Templating or do you use both in your apps?If any one could explain this in detail it would be great. Thank you in advance;-)

  • Key Window for background application

    Dear Cocoa Developers, I'm creating a backgrounded cocoa application. The only thing that it's missing is the ability to take text inputs! I'm making the application backgrounded by setting "Application is background only" in the Info.plist But no matter what I do I can't make any window the keyWindow. makeKeyWindow makeKeyAndOrderFront Both don't work... I know apps can do this, anyone have any idea how you can get background application to have a key window? Thanks, JPoz

    Anyone have numbers on how many machines / % of internet uses have Google Native Client? I'm curious about google NaCL as a platform: it seems to combine the best of the web (just a webpage, accessible on any machine) and desktop apps (OpenGL, C/C++ power). The only question is -- what percent of the world actually use it. Anyone have data on this? Thanks!

    In Visual Studio 2010 (RC) there is no longer a "browse with" context menu when right clicking .aspx pages. How can you change the default browser now? By default it seems to use the operating system default browser, but I would prefer to use IE when debugging ASP.net apps. (I am testing this with ASP.net MVC 2)

  • I can't get my Android program to run correctly on an AVM in Eclipse

    This is a simple question about getting started with developing Android apps using Eclipse. I have followed all the tutorials on the developer site for installing Eclipse, the SDK and the ADT plugin. When trying to run a simple Hello World program, everything seems to compile correctly, but then the virtual machine comes up empty. In the Console Window it reads: The program then just sits and my text never comes up. Any idea with what the problem could be?

    Stack overflow I want to make a universal version of my app available, but I am wondering how is data managed between the iPad and the iPhone versions? -Are they completely independent? or if I have a plist in the iPad app, does it also appear in the iPhone app. If so, is there any syncing etc etc. I have a few months experience with single iPad or iPhone apps, but never a universal. Thinking Sphinx and acts_as_ferret aren't updated for Rails 3 yet, and even basic activerecord search helpers like Searchlogic also aren't there yet. Any thoughts? Are you using any forked versions of the above gems that have been updated to Rails 3?

  • Paste Excel clip to body of an email through Python

    I am using win32com.client in Python to send an email. However I want the body of the email to be a table (HTML- formatted table), I can do it in an Excel first and then copy and paste (but how?), or directly edit the corresponding Pandas data frame. newMail.body = my_table which is a Pandas data frame didn't work. So I'm wondering if there is smarter ways for example, to combine Excel with Outlook apps within Python? Cheers,
