  • Good programming website like Stack Overflow?

    - by hhafez
What other good collaborative programming/software development/engineering websites do you know of? I'm not looking for language or platform specific websites. Nor am I looking for something similar to the format of Stack Overflow. My main criteria is that the community is knowledgeable, helpful active friendly I know the question is open ended/subjective but I'd like to know as many places where I can get the help of my peers. The accepted answer will contain links to your recommended sites have a short description be concise be highly voted by your peers

  • Stack and queue operations on the same array.

    - by Passonate Learner
Hi. I've been thinking about a program logic, but I cannot draw a conclusion to my problem. Here, I've implemented stack and queue operations to a fixed array. int A[1000]; int size=1000; int top; int front; int rear; bool StackIsEmpty() { return (top==0); } bool StackPush( int x ) { if ( top >= size ) return false; A[top++] = x; return true; } int StackTop( ) { return A[top-1]; } bool StackPop() { if ( top <= 0 ) return false; A[--top] = 0; return true; } bool QueueIsEmpty() { return (front==rear); } bool QueuePush( int x ) { if ( rear >= size ) return false; A[rear++] = x; return true; } int QueueFront( ) { return A[front]; } bool QueuePop() { if ( front >= rear ) return false; A[front++] = 0; return true; } It is presumed(or obvious) that the bottom of the stack and the front of the queue is pointing at the same location, and vice versa(top of the stack points the same location as rear of the queue). For example, integer 1 and 2 is inside an array in order of writing. And if I call StackPop(), the integer 2 will be popped out, and if I call QueuePop(), the integer 1 will be popped out. My problem is that I don't know what happens if I do both stack and queue operations on the same array. The example above is easy to work out, because there are only two values involved. But what if there are more than 2 values involved? For example, if I call StackPush(1); QueuePush(2); QueuePush(4); StackPop(); StackPush(5); QueuePop(); what values will be returned in the order of bottom(front) from the final array? I know that if I code a program, I would receive a quick answer. But the reason I'm asking this is because I want to hear a logical explanations from a human being, not a computer.

  • PDB: exception when in console - full stack trace

    - by EoghanM
When at the pdb console, entering a statement which causes an exception results in just a single line stack trace, e.g. (Pdb) someFunc() *** TypeError: __init__() takes exactly 2 arguments (1 given) However I'd like to figure out where exactly in someFunc the error originates. i.e. in this case, which class __init__ is attached to. Is there a way to get a full stack trace in Pdb?

  • Symbolizing plugins in Instruments' stack traces

    - by Huperniketes
Instruments is able to properly symbolize my app's main bundle (as well as frameworks and libraries) in the stack trace of the extended detail view. However, symbols aren't resolved for plugins loaded during execution. Setting the build directory where the dSym files for the main and plugin bundles are located (as well as the app itself) in the "File Re-Symbolicate Document" menu item made no discernible difference in the stack trace. What must I do for Instruments to load symbols for the plugins?

  • jQuery Draggable and overflow issue

    - by Phill Duffy
I am having an undesired effect when I drag a div from a container div which is set as overflow: scroll. I have found an example of someone else where they have had the issue but I have been unable to find a resolution Example on Paste bin What happens is that the scroll is just increased, I can see why this would be the desired behaviour if you wanted to drag to a destination within the scrollable div but I want to be able to take it outside of its scrolling grasp. Thanks, Phill

  • Visual Studio stack trace in notepad++

    - by LoveMeSomeCode
This is probably just a setting I'm not seeing, but when I get a stack trace out of Visual Studio's exception helper dialog, it has \r\n after each "line" in the call stack. When I copy this and paste it into Notepad++, it shows up as literally \r\n, visible in the document. Of course I'd like these to be interpreted as CR LF, so everything's on a different line. Anyone know how to do this?

  • Accessing CSR extension stack in M2Crypto

    - by Charles Duffy
Howdy! I have a certificate signing request with an extension stack added. When building a certificate based on this request, I would like to be able to access that stack to use in creating the final certificate. However, while M2Crypto.X509.X509 has a number of helpers for accessing extensions (get_ext, get_ext_at and the like), M2Crypto.X509.Request appears to provide only a member for adding extensions, but no way to inspect the extensions already associated with a given object. Am I missing something here?

  • Efective way to avoid integer overflow when multiplying?

    - by Jonathan
Hi, I'm working on a hash function which gets a string as input. Right now I'm doing a loop and inside the hash (an int variable) is being multiplied by a value and then the ASCII code for the current character is added to the mix. hash = hash * seed + string[i] But sometimes, if the string is big enough there is an integer overflow there, what can I do to avoid it while maintaining the same hash structure? Maybe a bit operation included inside the loop?

  • Clean Stack Traces in Groovy using Eclipse?

    - by yar
I am using Groovy in a Java Swing application as part of my plan to force-feed myself dynamic languages until I like them (which is happening, partly). My stack traces are filled with Groovy stuff like org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.callsite.ConstructorSite$ConstructorSiteNoUnwrapNoCoerce.callConstructor is there a way to get Eclipse to remove all of that codehaus stuff (filter stack traces, basically)? Edit: I can do this from the command-line with grep (well, not yet) so it's not so bad, but inside of Eclipse would be great too.

  • Get crashing application stack trace

    - by Tony
Is there any program that anyone knows off (not a debugger) that will produce a stack trace of a crashing application? The application crash can be simulated at will on a server on which I cannot necessarily install a debugger. That's why the question if there's no other way to get a stack trace so I can then have a look.

  • position:absolute within border-radius and overflow:hidden

    - by JaNightmare

  • Table overflow working in Chrome and IE but not Firefox

    - by Craig
    I am trying to get a layout that always takes up the entire screen, no more, no less. The layout has a header row, a 200px wide left bar (scrollable), and a scrollable content area. This works in Chrome and IE, but in Firefox the scroll bars never show nor work. Any thoughts? <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"> <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> * { margin: 0; padding: 0; } html, body { height: 100%; background-color: yellow; overflow: hidden; } #viewTable { width: 100%; height: 100%; background-color: red; } #header { height: 72px; background-color: blue; } #leftcol { vertical-align: top; width: 200px; height: 100%; background-color: green; } #menu { height: 100%; overflow: auto; } #rightcol { vertical-align: top; width: auto; height: 100%; background-color: purple; } #content { height: 100%; overflow: auto; } </style> </head> <body> </body> <table id="viewTable" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td colspan="2" id="header"> Header </td> </tr> <tr> <td id="leftcol"> <div id="menu"> 0<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 100<br/> </div> </td> <td id="rightcol"> <div id="content"> 0<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 1<br/> 100<br/> </div> </td> </tr> </table> hi </html> I would have preferred to use CSS, but could not find any way to do it. The hi should no show, it is simply there to verify it does not. Thank you!

  • Why do we keep using CSV?

    - by Stephen
Why do we keep using CSV? I recently made a shift to working the health domain and despite the wonderful work in data transfer standards, all data transfer is in CSV, both for reporting to external organisations, and for data migrations when implementing new systems. Unfortunately the use of CSV is the cause of the endless repetition of the same stupid errors, with the same waste of developer time. (bad escaping, failing to handle null fields etc.) I know we can do better, and anything between JSON and XML (depending on the instance) would be fine. (Most of the time this is data going from one MS SQLserver 2005 to another!) I feel as if each time I see this happening I am literally watching one developer waste anothers time. So why do we keep shafting each other? When will we stop?
