  • wrapper not containing content div

    - by madelikethis
Hi, I'm trying to get my wrapper to hold my content but it won't. I've taken out the floats and added "overflow: visible" no no avail. I'm thinking it's because of my z-indexing and negative margins, but have tried taking these out and still no change. Any ideas? http://www.jenniferhope.com/bio (the float is still in this example.) Thanks for any help you can offer!

Hello, Apple has disabled the overflow CSS aspect in mobile Safari so it is not possible to scroll inside a fixed height div. This is quite annoying. While making an iPhone native app, is it possible to access WebKit settings to turn that feature on ?

  • asp.net ModalPopupExtender : need to show scroll bar when overflow

    - by DavRob60
    I display a gridview in a ModalPopupExtender. When the screen resolution is to small, the pop-up is to big to all be displayed on the page. I just want to add scroll bar to the pop-up when this happen. I know it's probably some CSS, but all I tried did not work. here some base css .modalTextBoxBackground { background-color:Gray; filter:alpha(opacity=70); opacity:0.7; } .modalTextBox { border: 1px solid #FFFFFF; background-color: #0066CC; color: #00FFFF; } here some code from the aspx <asp:Panel ID="OptionSelectionPanel" runat="server" CssClass="modalTextBox"> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="OptionSelectionUpdatePanel" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional" > <Triggers> <asp:asyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="TemplateSelection" /> </Triggers> <ContentTemplate> <table class="EditRow"> <tr class="HeaderFooter"> <td colspan="3" class="modalTextBoxTitle"> Add options to Quote </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Manufacturer </td> <td> <asp:DropDownList ID="OptionManufacturerFilter" runat="server" DataSourceID="OptionManufacturerDataSource" DataTextField="Name" DataValueField="Code" AutoPostBack="True" > </asp:DropDownList> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="3"> <asp:GridView ID="NewOptionSelection" runat="server" DataSourceID="AvailableOptions" DataKeyNames="Option_Id" AllowPaging="True" AllowSorting="True" AutoGenerateColumns="false"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="category_Descr" HeaderText="Category" SortExpression="category_Descr,subcategory_Descr,code" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="subcategory_Descr" HeaderText="Sub-Category" SortExpression="subcategory_Descr,code" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="Manuf_Name" HeaderText="Manufacturer" SortExpression="Manuf_Name"/> </Columns></asp:GridView> </td> </tr> <tr class="HeaderFooter"> <td colspan="3" class="Center"> <asp:Button ID="OptionSelectionClose" runat="server" Text="Close" /> </td> </tr> </table> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </asp:Panel> <asp:Button runat="server" ID="HiddenTargetControlForOptionSelectionModalPopup" style="display:none"/> <cc1:ModalPopupExtender ID="OptionSelectionModalPopupExtender" runat="server" TargetControlID="HiddenTargetControlForOptionSelectionModalPopup" PopupControlID="OptionSelectionPanel" BackgroundCssClass="modalTextBoxBackground" />

  • How to prevent latex memory overflow

    - by drasto
I've got a latex macro that makes small pictures. In that picture I need to draw area. Borders of that area are quadratic bezier curves and that area is to be filled. I did not know how to do it so currently I'm "filling" the area by drawing a plenty of bezier curves inside it... This slows down typeseting and when a macro is used multiple times (so tex is drawing really a lot of quadratic bezier curves) it produces following error: ! TeX capacity exceeded, sorry [main memory size=3000000]. How can I prevent this error ? (by freeing memory after macro or such...) Or even better how do I fill the area determined by two quadratic bezier curves? Code that produces error: \usepackage{forloop} \usepackage{picture} \usepackage{eepic} ... \linethickness{\lineThickness\unitlength}% \forloop[\lineThickness]{cy}{\cymin}{\value{cy} < \cymax}{% \qbezier(\ax, \ay)(\cx, \value{cy})(\bx, \by)% }% Here are some example values for variables: \setlength{\unitlength}{0.01pt} \lineThickness=20 %cy is just a counter - inital value is not important \cymin=450 \cymax=900 %from following only the difference between \ax and \bx is important \ax=0 \ay=0 \bx=550 \by=0 Note: To reproduce the error this code have to execute approximately 150 times (could be more depending on your latex memory settings). Thanks a lot for any help

  • masm division overflow

    - by Help I'm in college
I'm trying divide two numbers in assembly. I'm working out of the Irvine assembly for intel computers book and I can't make division work for the life of me. Here's my code .code main PROC call division exit main ENDP division PROC mov eax, 4 mov ebx, 2 div ebx call WriteDec ret divison ENDP END main Where WriteDec should write whatever number is in the eax register (should be set to the quotient after the division call). Instead everytime I run it visual studio crashes (the program does compile however).

  • Could the assign function for containers possibly overflow?

    - by Kristo
I ran into this question today and thought I should post it for the community's reference and/or opinions. The standard C++ containers vector, deque, list, and string provide an assign member function. There are two versions; I'm primarily interested in the one accepting an iterator range. The Josuttis book is a little ambiguous with its description. From p. 237... Assigns all elements of the range [beg, end); this is, is replaces all existing elements with copies of the elements of [beg, end). It doesn't say what happens if the size of the assignee container is different from the range being assigned. Does it truncate? Does it automagically expand? Is it undefined behavior?

  • Stack Overflow when debugging application in iPhone simulator

    - by mjdth
I'm getting this every time I attempt to debug my app in the simulator: [Session started at 2010-05-11 16:16:52 -0500.] GNU gdb 6.3.50-20050815 (Apple version gdb-1467) (Wed Apr 21 06:57:21 UTC 2010) Copyright 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc. Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. Data Formatters temporarily unavailable, will re-try after a 'continue'. (Cannot call into the loader at present, it is locked.) I've looked around and found a few similar cases, but they all seem to be related to a missing file and an extra necessary build phase. I'm getting no notification of a missing file here so I'm not sure where to start to fix this and get the app running again. Thanks for any insight!

  • Stack Overflow works best with JavaScript enabled banner

    - by carpenter
I am trying to mimic this site's Javascipt required banner, and have the below divs which are being hidden if javascript is allowed/enabled, but I am getting a flash/glimps of it on page load. <div id="Main_noJS">Craftystuff.com works best with JavaScript enabled</div> <div id="PartOfMain_noJS"><br /></div> CSS: #Main_noJS { width: 100%; height: 23px; font-family: Arial; font-size: 111%; color: White; font-weight: bold; background: #AE0000; text-align: center; padding-top: 4px; position: fixed; z-index: 100; } JavaScript: // hide the "Craftystuff.com works best with JavaScript enabled" banner, if JavaScript is working if ($("#Main_noJS")) { $("#Main_noJS").hide(); // hide the spacer between the main content and banner... $("#PartOfMain_noJS").hide(); } So the banner is visible to start with, and only when javascript is enabled do I hide it but javascript must take a second to get to work to hide things... I would like to try to stop the glimps of the banner, when the page first loads, any help?

  • Block element text overflow problem in IE7

    - by Adomas
I'm making a "sort elements" web game using jQuery, HTML & CSS. While everything works fine in FF, IE8, Opera, Chrome, I'm having problem with IE7 wrapping words inside block elements. Here's how it looks in IE7 (wrong): Link (cannot post images as a new user) In IE8 the box with wrapped text would just expand to fit it whole in one line without any overflows. Sorry, can't give another link as a new user Don't mind the element order as it's random. Elements are dynamically generated by jQuery. HTML code: <div class="ui-sortable" id="area"> <span class="object">: </span> <span class="object">1998- </span> <span class="object">ISSN 1392-4087</span> <span class="object">, </span> <span class="object">. </span> <span class="object">nepriklausomas savaitraštis buhalteriams, finansininkams, auditoriams</span> <span class="object">. </span> <span class="object">. </span> <span class="object">. </span> <span class="object">Vilnius</span> <span class="object">1998- </span> <span class="object"><em>Apskaitos, audito ir mokesciu aktualijos</em></span> </div> CSS code (irrelevant info like fonts & colors removed): #area { min-height: 160px; width: 760px; } .object { display: block; float: left; text-align: center; width: auto; } Any comments on why does IE7 does that? How do I make these spans expand to fit the whole text in one line in IE7 and not wrap the text or make overflows?

  • No-overflow cast on x64

    - by Cheeso
I have an existing C codebase that works on x86. I'm now compiling it for x64. What I'd like to do is cast a size_t to a DWORD, and throw an exception if there's a loss of data. Q: Is there an idiom for this? Here's why I'm doing this: A bunch of Windows APIs accept DWORDs as arguments, and the code currently assumes sizeof(DWORD)==sizeof(size_t). That assumption holds for x86, but not for x64. So when compiling for x64, passing size_t in place of a DWORD argument, generates a compile-time warning. In virtually all of these cases the actual size is not going to exceed 2^32. But I want to code it defensively and explicitly. This is my first x64 project, so... be gentle.

  • C# Class Instantiation Overflow

    - by Goober
Scenario I have a C# Win Forms App, where the Main Form contains a loop that creates 3000 Instances of another form (Form B). Inside Form B there are a large number of properties and fields and a bunch of methods that do a fair amount of processing. Question Will the creation of 3000 of these classes give me problems? I'm thinking along the lines of memory exceptions? I've had 1 or 2 already, and I've also had an exception that says something along the lines of "Something went bang and this is usually a sign of corrupt memory somewhere else". Setup I'm using a DevExpress Ribbon Form and I haven't implemented Dispose on anything....Do I need to? Help greatly appreciated.

  • transition of x-axis results in overflow

    - by peter
    First of all, no: this question is not about the (yet) ugly transition of the lines (I might open another one for that, though..). I'm displaying data in line charts and the user can select the time horizon. The x-axis then correspondingly transitions so as to fit to the changed time horizon. In attached image, e.g., the time horizon was 1 week and then I switched to 4 weeks. The number of ticks on the x-axis increases from 7 to 28, correspondingly. Question: How can I prevent the x-axis animation to display outside the svg container? As you can see, the additional dates fly in from the left and they are being animated far far outside the container. Any ideas? Right now, the transition works probably in the most simple way it could: // format for x-axis var xAxis = d3.svg.axis() .scale(x) .orient("bottom") .tickFormat(d3.time.format("%d.%m")) .ticks(d3.time.days, 1) .tickSubdivide(0); // Update x-axis svg.select(".x") .transition() .duration(500) .call(xAxis);

  • Java JSP/Servlet: controller servlet throwing the famous stack overflow

    - by NoozNooz42
I've read several docs and I don't get it: I know I'm doing something wrong but I don't understand what. I've got a website that is entirely dynamically generated: there's hardly any static content at all. So, trying to understand JSP/Servlet, I've written my own "front controller" intercepting every single query, it looks like this: <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>defaultservlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> Basically I want any user request, like: example.org example.org/bar example.org/foo.html to all go through a default servlet which I've written. The servlet then examines the URI and find to which .jsp the request must be dispatched, and then does, after having set all the attributes correctly, a: RequestDispatcher dispatcher = getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/WEB-INF/jsp/index.jsp"); dispatcher.forward(req, resp); When I'm using a url-pattern (in web.xml) like, say, *.html, everything works fine. But when I change it to /* (to really intercept everything), I enter an endless loop and it ends up with a... StackOverflow :) When the request is dispatched, is the URI ".../WEB-INF/jsp/index.jsp" itself matched by the web.xml filter /* that I set? How should I do if I want to intercept everything using a /* url-pattern and yet be able to dispatch/forward/? I'm not asking about specs/Javadocs here: I'm really confused about the bigger picture and I'd need some explanation as to what could be going on. Am I not supposed to intercept really everything? If I can intercept everything, what should I be aware of regarding forwarding/dispatching?

  • CSS Overflow issue in IE7

    - by BrynJ
I'm working on a site for a client at the moment, and have it working correctly in all browsers except IE7 (IE6 and IE8 tested fine). It's a WordPress site and the theme is a child theme of the Thematic framework. This is an example of a page that is not displayed correctly in IE7: http://roynesbitt.credit-medics.co.uk/our-donors The main content is forcing vertical and horizontal scrollbars on the main wrapper and is also not pushing the footer down, so that is appearing midway through it. The irony is that this works correctly in IE6, it's just IE7 that is displaying this issue. Any suggestions on how to fix are gratefully received.

  • How can I avoid the overflow when wheel scolling WPF DataGrid

    - by Jan Bannister
When I use the mouse wheel to scroll the WPF Toolkit DataGrid on a Vista 64 Machine I get a cryptic low level error: at System.IntPtr.op_Explicit(IntPtr value) at System.Windows.Interop.HwndMouseInputProvider.FilterMessage(IntPtr hwnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wParam, IntPtr lParam, Boolean& handled) at System.Windows.Interop.HwndSource.InputFilterMessage(IntPtr hwnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wParam, IntPtr lParam, Boolean& handled) at MS.Win32.HwndWrapper.WndProc(IntPtr hwnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wParam, IntPtr lParam, Boolean& handled) at MS.Win32.HwndSubclass.DispatcherCallbackOperation(Object o) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.InternalRealCall(Delegate callback, Object args, Boolean isSingleParameter) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.TryCatchWhen(Object source, Delegate callback, Object args, Boolean isSingleParameter, Delegate catchHandler) I logged an issue on CodePlex. But has anyone found a way to resolve this already?

  • MySQL database Int overflow and can't login in.

    - by Ryan SMith
I have a MySQL database on my server and I"m pretty sure it's an int over flow on one table with an auto_increment field that's crashing it. I can delete the table, it's not very important, but I can't get into the server. Is there anyway to delete that database from the file system or without logging into MySQL? HELP! THE WORLD IS ENDING!
