• Android Release Version and "Waiting for Debugger"

  I know this has been asked before but I still don't have a solution. My first app: developed and debugged on my moto droid and then followed all the release steps, (exported from Eclipse, using my key to sign) including removing the debug in the manifest xml. I copied the resulting apk to the droid, disconnected the usb and installed it by double clicking on the file using Astro. I get the "Waiting for Debugger" message like when I am debugging but it never goes away. Doing something real stupid I know but I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom

• xDebug cant find my files. Always looks in localhost

  I'm running win7-64bit, NetBeans 7.1.1 and WampServer 2.2 (which has xDebug) I've configured php.ini (xdebug.remote_enable=on, etc.) I create a directory (virtual host called example.dev) and add a test file. (c:/wamp/example/test-xdebug.php) I run debug in NetBeans and the following url displays: http://localhost/example/test-xdebug.php?XDEBUG_SESSION_START=netbeans-xdebug This fails. The browser coughs up the following error message. Not Found. The requested URL /example/test-xdebug.php was not found on this server. I add the correct path to the virtual host, and xDebug Runs Flawlessly: http://example.dev/test-xdebug.php?XDEBUG_SESSION_START=netbeans-xdebug Tried every configuration I could think of. If this is a php.ini config issue, I sure as heck cant find it. If its a NetBeans issue, there is not an option/interface to modify i (that I can find). Please illuminate! thanks sleeper

• Signature invalid only for ad hoc

  I'm not sure what changed on my ad hocs but I get this error when trying to install: Application failed codesign verification. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate. (-19011) Device debug builds fine. The cert that is associated with my ad hoc provisioning profile doesn't expire until 2011. I've searched Google but haven't found any applicable solution, except some mention about deleting and recreating the certs. Before I go down that rode, has any one experienced and resolved this issue? I'm using Xcode 3.2.3 and building against sdk 3.0.

• Database Error : Compiling app on iphone device

  Hi guys I am getting a problem when i compile my iphone database application to device. When i debug the code it says database path "out of scope" on the break point and it does not compile the statement. • Why do I randomly get a "error to use section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication'"

  I have seen a few questions on SO about a similar error when deploying a website, but I seem to randomly get this error when building an ASP.NET MVC website in Visual Studio. Performing a clean usually fixes it, but is there any way to avoid this completely? It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. d:...\obj\debug\package\packagetmp\web.config Note that it is complaining about the root web.config, not the one from the Views subdirectory.

• How to specify lib folder for JARs when using Android-generated ant build file ?

  Im using an ant build file that has been generated by android. Our Android application requires a JAR file that lives inside the lib folder of our project, so I need to adjust the classpath that ant is using when it builds stuff. When I run: ant -lib lib debug the project builds just fine, but this should really be inside the build file itself. The build file that android generates references the android_rules.xml so a lot of this stuff is automated. I guess my question, what the best practice here when working with the Android build rules ?

• Don't see Clean solution option in Visual Studio

  For one of the solutions, I don't see the Clean Solution option neither in the context menu when I right click on the solution name in the Solution Explorer nor in the Build menu. When I make any changes to the project and debug, VS never hits the break point and I get the "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. The source code is different from the original version." message. My understanding is that I need to clean the solution. For other solutions, I do see the Clean solution and I don't have the same issue.

• Allocated memory address clash

  Hi, i don't understand how this happen. This is portion of my code.. int isGoal(Node *node, int startNode){ int i; . . } When i debug this using gdb i found out that 'i' was allocated at the memory address that have been previously allocated. (gdb)print &node->path->next $26 = (struct intNode **) 0xffbff2f0 (gdb) print &i $22 = (int *) 0xffbff2f0 node-path-next has been already defined outside this function. But as u can see they share the same address which at some point make the pointer point to another place when the i counter is changed. I compiled it using gcc on solaris platform Any helps would be really appreciated..

• Custom realm/starting Tomcat 6.0 from Netbeans 6.8/first HTTP request

  I'm using NetBeans 6.8 and Tomcat 6.0.xx. I've created a custom realm and updated the NetBeans project build.xml to deploy the realm to Tomcat. When I debug the project, NetBeans starts the Tomcat server and makes an initial HTTP GET request for 'manager/list'. Tomcat graciously hands this request off to my custom realm for authentication. The request gets denied and NetBeans displays the following error in the output window: (note: error is displayed after NetBeans gets access denied) Access to Tomcat server has not been authorized. Set the correct username and password with the "manager" role in the Tomcat customizer in the Server Manager. Do I have something incorrectly configured? How do I prevent NetBeans from issuing this initial request? Thanks, Drew

  I need a way to define a FLAGS_IF macro (or equivalent) such that FLAGS_IF(expression) <block_of_code> FLAGS_ENDIF when compiling in debug (e.g. with a specific compiler switch) compiles to if (MyFunction(expression)) { <block_of_code> } whereas in release does not result in any instruction, just as it was like this #if 0 <block_of_code> #endif In my ignorance on the matter of c/c++ preprocessors i can't think of any naive way (since #define FLAGS_IF(x) #if 0 does not even compile) of doing this, can you help? I need a solution that: Does not get messed up if */ is present inside <block_of_code> Is sure to generate 0 instructions in release even inside inline functions at any depth (i guess this excludes if (false){<block_of_code>} right?) • Tips on debugging copy and paste into powerpoint 2010

  I have a custom application in C++ that has been used to successfully copy-and-paste an object from the application into MS Office 2003 and 2007 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). The object opens in our own custom activeX control. Now with windows XP and PowerPoint 2010, nothing happens on the cut-and-paste. I have tried turning off the smart copy/paste to no avail. Copy/paste works with Word and Excel 2010. Do you have tips on how to debug this? Thanks Andrew

  Hello! I have a problem with writing cookies in cakephp and even don't know how to debug it or where too look for a clue. I've inherited a project where cookie were only created using the Session component, of course i added 'Cookie' to $components array in app_controller and put this in beforeFilter: $this->Cookie->name = 'foo'; $this->Cookie->path = '/home/~nick'; $this->Cookie->domain = 'hostname'; $this->Cookie->secure = false; //i.e. only sent if using secure HTTPS $this->Cookie->key = 'some key'; and in some action i use: $this->Cookie->write('key', 'value'); I access page by http://hostname/home/~nick/foo and actually try to put even something so silly. I doesn't work. I would be really gratefully for any clue where to search problem. Thanks!

  Hello! I'm opening a connection to WebService with an URLConnection class. I also set request property for basic authorization like this: c.setRequestProperty("Authorization", "Basic " + usernameAndPasswordEncoded); Where c is an object of type URLConnection. So this is client side of WebService call. Now on server side I need to get username from session: User user = (User) request.getSession().getAttribute("user"); But this won't get an username. Also if I look through debug mode, I see an anonymous userName in HttpSession object. What to do to solve this problem, so that username is sent through client to WebService server for authorization? • WCF - WebReferences not working

  At the client end, I have generated a Proxy using SvcUtil.exe and it is working fine. Then I have added a WebReference to the client assembly and calling the same method. But it is not working. My program is running in console mode and the method is suppose to return a string. It is not returning the string. I just see a blank console window. No exception is thrown. And after setting a debug point on the method call I see that, program is halted on the method call for ever. What should I look for to solve the problem? I am using VS2005. And adding the webReference by right-clicking the client project and then clicking "Add Web Reference" pop-up menu.

• Determining full XHR request URL on a Google Chrome XHR Breakpoint

  I am initiating a jQuery ajax ($.ajax) post, within the Google Chrome browser. I have setup a XHR breakpoint in the "XHR Breakpoints" section of the "Scripts" tab within the Developer Tools. The criteria of the breakpoint is "get" ie. I want the debugger to break on all XHR requests which contain the word "get" in them (somePage.asmx/getListOfAnimals) is an example. The breakpoint is being correctly hit, however I am unable to determine what the exact URL that is being requested. I realize I can remove the breakpoint and see what URL is being requested from the "Network" tab, but I want to know this at the time the breakpoint is hit. I have tried stepping through the XHR request once it has been hit in Chrome, but I must be missing a Javascript object/property which contains the fully requested URL. Google Chrome has detected that the XHR requested URL contains "get" but how do I get to this URL from within the debug session before the request is made?

• Weblogic server 10.0 - Managed Server shutting down

  We have a weblogic server 10.0 instance which has a cluster with one managed server. Every Monday at 5am (or few seconds after), it shuts down on its own. The logs do not show any errors except the following message: JVM called WLS shutdown hook. The server will force shutdown now. JVM has a -Xnohup option and using JRockit. There is no cron job on the server. I am not sure how to debug this one. Admin Server keeps running with no issues and I am able to start the managed server back up with no problems. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

• imagejpeg memory exhaustion

  I'm creating thumbnails cycling through a lot of images, when I find a large image I get: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 13056 bytes) Now I already know how to circumvent this with: ini_set('memory_limit', '-1'); What I want to know is why it exhaust the memory! Is there some debug tools that will show me exactly when memory is exhausting? And specifically that will show me if there are variables/arrays that are killing my memory? OR, are there better way to resize images other then: $thumb=imagecreatetruecolor($newwidth,$newheight); $source=imagecreatefromjpeg($imgfile); imagecopyresampled($thumb,$source,0,0,0,0,$newwidth,$newheight,$width,$height); imagejpeg($thumb,$destinationfile,85); ? • How can I pause a BackgroundWorker? Or something similar...

  I was using a BackgroundWorker to download some web sites by calling WebClient.DownloadString inside a loop. I wanted the option for the user to cancel in the middle of downloading stuff, so I called CancelAsync whenever I found that CancellationPending was on in the middle of the loop. But now I noticed that the function DownloadString kinda freezes sometimes, so I decided to use DownloadStringAsync instead (all this inside the other thread created with BackgroundWorker). An since and don't want to rewrite my whole code by having to exit the loop and the function after calling DownloadStringAsync, I made a while loop right after calling it that does nothing but checks for a variable bool Stop that I turn true either when the DownloadStringCompleted event handler is called or when the user request to cancel the operation. Now, the weird thing is that it works fine on the debug version, but on the release one, the program freezes in the while loop like if it were the main thread.

When I try to run this code: #include <iostream> #include <string> #include <sstream> using namespace std; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { string s("hello"); istringstream input(s, istringstream::in); string s2; input >> s2; cout << s; } I get this error: malloc: *** error for object 0x100016200: pointer being freed was not allocated *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug The only thing I can think of is that I allocated s2 on the stack, but I thought strings manage their own content on the heap.
