  Dreamweaver CS5 with Dreamweaver HTML5 Pack 1.2.7 Windows 7 x64 When I go to create a new document and select the HTML5 DocType, Dreamweaver gives me the legacy encoding/character set declaration: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> I want to replace it with the new, abbreviated style: <meta charset="utf-8"> The relevant file seems to be %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\configuration\DocumentTypes\NewDocuments\Default.html, which has a blank charset, that is then apparently replaced with the appropriate character set dynamically: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset="> I changed it, but then new documents show up like this: <meta charset=""> <title>Untitled Document</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> It seems Dreamweaver added the legacy declaration back in after my modification—and as far as I can tell, there's no way to specify that the charset definition should go in-between the quotes, either. Additionally, any modifications to Default.html apply to every DocType, whereas I only want this change to apply to the HTML5 DocType. Is there anything in the configuration files that would allow me to make any of these customizations? If not, is there an extension that does it?

• OpenVPN server will not redirect traffic

  I set up an OpenVPN server on my VPS, using this guide: http://vpsnoc.com/blog/how-to-install-openvpn-on-a-debianubuntu-vps-instantly/ And I can connect to it without problems. Connect, that is, because no traffic is being redirected. When I try to load a webpage when connected to the vpn I just get an error. I am using the standalone command-line profiler as VS2008 Professional does not come with an inbuilt profiler.   Quick basic points on Billing: In batch billing, there can be one and ONLY ONE bill for an Account, per Bill Cycle. If an Account has been already billed within the current Bill Cycle's window period, it will not be billed again and will be skipped by the Bill Segment generation program, part of batch eligibility check routine. If an Account does not have any Stopped Service Agreements and you attempt to generate a Bill for that Account that too for a period for which it was already billed, no Bill Segments are generated and a Pending Bill is created for that Account. If a Pending Bill exists for an Account and was generated from a batch, the Account will be re-billed in the next batch run. In contrast, if a Pending Bill exists for an Account and was generated online, the Account will be skipped in the next batch run of the Account's Bill Cycle. • Windows expand over 2 monitors in quad-monitor setup

• Code Generation and IDE vs writing per Hand

  I have been programming for about a year now. Pretty soon I realized that I need a great Tool for writing code and learned Vim. I was happy with C and Ruby and never liked the idea of an IDE. Which was encouraged by a lot of reading about programming.[1] However I started with (my first) Java Project. In a CS Course we were using Visual Paradigm and encouraged to let the program generate our code from a class diagram. I did not like that Idea because: Our class diagram was buggy. Students more experienced in Java said they would write the code per hand. I had never written any Java before and would not understand a lot of the generated code. So I took a different approach and wrote all methods per Hand (getter and Setter included). My Team-members have written their parts (partly generated by VP) in an IDE and I was "forced" to use it too. I realized they had generated equal amounts of code in a shorter amount of time and did not spend a lot of time setting their CLASSPATH and writing scripts for compiling that son of a b***. Additionally we had to implement a GUI and I dont see how we could have done that in a sane matter in Vim. So here is my Problem: I fell in love with Vim and the Unix way. But it looks like for getting this job done (on time) the IDE/Code generation approach is superior. Do you have equal experiences? Is Java by the nature of the language just more suitable for an IDE/Code generated approach? Or am I lacking the knowledge to produce equal amounts of code "per Hand"?   I'm developing a tool that generates code from some various data. The tool itself will be licensed with the MIT license, which strikes a good balance for me in terms of allowing the freedom to use and modify it, while still holding the copyright. OK, but what is the legal status of the code generated by the tool? Who holds the copyright for code generated by a tool? Do I need to give users of the tool a license for the generated code, or do they already have that by virtue of it being generated by them? What is different about this code generation system (which may be relevant) is that the source information about the code generation is provided by the system itself. The user doesn't feed source data in; the source data is bundled along with it. They simply have the means to transform it in various ways (filtering out parts of the data they don't want, etc). Obviously they could edit the bundled data. Does that affect anything about this?

• Establishing a web page bookmarking process - looking for ideas to improve

  Like many others, I have a process for bookmarking web pages to read later. My requirements for web page bookmarking are: Ability to bookmark pages must be available from all (within reason) platforms - PC/browser, mobile device, etc. Bookmarks must be centrally stored (implicit from #2) so that I can read the bookmarks from anywhere/any device Full text of web pages must be stored Bonus features would be: Bookmarks and page content should be full text searchable Maintain an archive indefinitely Distinguish between what's read vs. unread Bookmarked page content is cleaned up, e.g. ads eliminated, unnecessary html removed, pages better formatted for reading My current process (which addresses most of these requirements) is as follows: I set up a Gmail account with 2 labels, "Bookmarks Unread" and "Bookmarks Read" Gmail filters set up such that depending on the form of the address (using Gmail's '+string' functionality in addresses), the incoming bookmark gets labeled appropriately On each of my browsers/devices, I have an address book entry for [email protected] and [email protected]. If I want to clean up the page content, I use the Readability bookmarklet which does a great job of giving me the essential content only Anywhere I have Firefox, I use the Send Page by Email extension which, with 2 clicks, allows me to send the cleaned-up Readability page URL and content to one of the above email addresses. Where I don't have Firefox (e.g. iPhone or other mobile device) I use the native ability to send the current link via email (most/all apps have them, including the browser, RSS readers, NYTimes, etc.). In most cases (unless it's built into the particular app), this won't include the page body. The process is almost perfect. I've got the central access and ubiquitous access of Gmail as the storage mechanism, full text searchability (due to Gmail, but of course only for the URLs I send from that Firefox extension), a cleaned up page due to Readability, ability to read offline (assuming I use an IMAP client against Gmail) and permanent archiving of content, including what's been read vs. unread. The missing pieces are: The Send Page by Email Firefox extension seems to only send X bytes of a web page. Or some portion. So it limits my full text searchability. Where I don't have Firefox, I can only send the link, so no full text search at all in those cases. Instapaper looks like it meets most of my requirements (and bonus items). The only downside to me (personal preference) is that central storage is based on Instapaper vs. something more broad like Gmail, which as a generalized service and with Google behind it pretty much means it's permanent. I'm not too hung up on this, but I would definitely prefer to keep Gmail if possible. An upside of Instapaper is that it does the page clean-up as well as stores the entire page content, unlike my Firefox extension. Thoughts on addressing the gaps and improving this process further?

If I enter correct date than the article is properly inserted. There's one other thing that's confusing me...   Hi all I am trying to write a Dual List usercontrol in wpf. I am new to wpf and I am finding it quite difficult. This is something I have put together in a couple of hours.It's not that good but a start. I would be extremely grateful if somebody with wpf experience could improve it. The aim is to simplify the usage as much as possible I am kind of stuck. I would like the user of the DualList Control to be able to set up headers how do you do that. Do I need to expose some dependency properties in my control? At the moment when loading the user has to pass a ObservableCollection is there a better way?   Are content observers persistent in Android? If I create a content observer in an activity, will that observer continue to run until I remove the observer. Basically I am creating a service for SMS, where on receive and on send I post the SMS out to a web service, so I can check my messages with out having my phone. If the content observer is tied to the Activity's life, how can I create a ContentObserver that will always receive notifications on content:/sms/

• Android: SlidingDrawer disappears under SurfaceView

  Hi, I'm trying to create a SlidingDrawer with LinearLayout content over a FrameLayout. At first it all seems fine, I get my SlidingDrawer's handle at the bottom of the screen. But then, if I start dragging the handle up and the content starts showing, it gets clipped by the border rectangle of the handle. If I drag the handle all the way up the entire content eventually gets shown, however if I now drag the handle down, it will be clipped by the border rectangle of the content. Also, if the handle is all the way up, as soon as I start dragging it the whole content disappears. I can still click on where the handle should be on the screen, drag it and the content would show, but I need to guess where the handle is. What seems to be causing this is the fact that I have a SurfaceView in the xml file just before SlidingDrawer. Removing the view from the xml solves this problem, however I need this view.   Hi, How do I bind / initialize Shadowbox to content loaded by jQuery using AJAX? Right now shadowbox works when I first come into the site. However, when I swap the content with a new one loaded through AJAX, these new batch of content doesn't do the shadowbox popup, instead it just redirect to the content. I have Shadowbox.init(shadowbox_conf); in the success but it doesn't seem to do the trick. Thanks, Tee

• Whats happening to my HTML?

  I am making changes to my website, and I just noticed that things look different. In IE, the content doesnt center, theres a margin on my content, and the font looks bigger in chrome.. I ran it through Yahoo's HTML validator and the error I get is line 1 - Error: character "" not allowed in prolog. I believe that there may be some sort of whitespace being sent before the DOC TYPE, but I cant seem to fix it. The HTML looks fine in my text editor (Notepad++) so I dont know what the problem is. Im using a strict DOC Type. Everything was fine before I made any changes, but I cant pinpoint what caused the change. If it helps, I'm using a Framework (Kohana). My initial thought was that something was being sent to the browser by an echo or something, but I couldnt find any echo statements. I dont know what could be causing this...   I have a pretty complex view to render which involves some kind of recursion (the typical folder/file nested list). The fact that it contains heterogeneous objects (folders and files) make it even harder to write Handlebars templates. Therefore, the only solution I've found is to create a view, and manually fill the render buffer.
