  • PowerShell - Set Alias for Loaded Assembly

    - by Uros Calakovic
I use this code to load a .Net assembly to PowerShell: [System.Reflection.Assembly]::Load("System.Windows.Forms, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089") | out-null [System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox]::Show("Hello world") Can I set an alias for an assembly (for example 'System.Windows.Forms' = 'Forms') so that I don't have to type the assembly full name when calling static methods like MessageBox.Show()?

  • Android: getTag/setTag and IllegalArgumentException

    - by Sparafusile
Yes, I know you need a unique resource id when calling the version of these functions that requires a key, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to create a resource id that can be used in this way. A final variable in my class wont work and neither will a hard coded value. Both threw an IllegalArgumentException. So what gives, how do you use these methods? Spara

  • how to organise my abstraction?

    - by DaveM
I have a problem that I can't decide how to best handle, so I'm asking for advice. Please bear with me if my question isn't clear, it is possiblybecause I'm not sure exacly how to solve! I have a set of function that I have in a class. These function are a set of lowest commonality. To be able to run this I need to generate certain info. But this info can arrive with my class from one of 2 routes. I'll try to summarise my situation.... Lets say that I have a class as follows. public class onHoliday(){ private Object modeOfTravel; private Object location; public onHoliday(Object vehicle, Location GPScoords) { private boolean haveFun(){//function to have fun, needs 4 people }//end haveFun() } } Lets imagine I can get to my holiday either by car or by bike. my haveFun() function is dependant my type of vehicle. But only loosely. I have another function that determines my vehicle type, and extracts the required values. for example if I send a car I may get 4 people in one go, but if I send I bike I need at least 2 to get the required 4 I have currently 2 options: Overload my constructor, so as I can send either 2 bikes or a single car into it, then I can call one of 2 intermediate functions (to get the names of my 4 people for instance) before I haveFun() - this is what I am currently doing. split the 2 constructors into 2 separate classes, and repeat my haveFun() in a third class, that becomes an object of my 2 other classes. my problem with this is that my intermediate functions are all but a few lines of code, and I don't want to have them in a separate file! (I allways put classes in separate files!) Please note, my haveFun() isn't something that I'm going to need outside of these 2 classes, or even being onHoliday (ie. there is no chance of me doing some haveFun() over a weekend or of an evening!). I have though about putting haveFun() into an interface, but it seems a bit worthless having an interface with only a single method! Even then I would have to have the method in both of the classes -one for bike and another for car! I have thought about having my onHoliday class accepting any object type, but then I don't want someone accidentally sending in a boat to my onHoliday class (imagine I can't swim, so its not about to happen). It may be important to note that my onHoliday class is package private, and final. It in fact is only accessed via other 'private methods' in other classes, and has only private methods itself. Thanks in advance. David

  • Updating AjaxToolKit Breaks WCF Service for AutoCompleteExtender

    - by Rob Jones
I had a perfectly working WCF service that I used for a custom AutoCompleteExtender but when I updated the AjaxControlToolKit.dll the service no longer works. I changed nothing else but removing the old DLL and adding the new one. Is there something else I need to update that I am missing? I can access the service so I know it's working properly but the methods are just not getting called by the AutoCompleteExtender.

  • How does one quickly access ruby and rails documentation when using vim?

    - by 46and2
Hey all, What method are vim users out there using to quickly access documentation for both ruby and rails (other than switching to the browser to use ruby-doc or railsapi?). I was trying to adapt this script (http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/Online_documentation_for_word_under_cursor) to do the trick however it's only going to work if the cursor is over a class name and I'd like it to work with both class and methods. Thanks.

  • Sparxsystems Enterprise Architect and issuses/tasks tracking system?

    - by peperg
We (developement team 4 upto 7 people) use Sparxsystems EA for requirement analysis, modeling etc. Do you know any well-working methods to use EA and some task/issue tracking system like Redmine/Mantis/Trac ? The problem is not to duplicate functionality (there are issues/tasks/changes in Redmine and EA) but to have some user friendly interface (preffered web) to manage tasks and issues. By user-friendly I mean "my tasks" page add effort / time tracking easy "add issue" by everyone (simple bug tracking system) mail notifications

  • PHP Equivalent of Java Type-Casting Solution

    - by stjowa
Since PHP has no custom-class type-casting, how would I go about doing the PHP equivalent of this Java code: CustomBaseObject cusBaseObject = cusBaseObjectDao.readCustomBaseObjectById(id); ((CustomChildObject) cusBaseObject).setChildAttribute1(value1); ((CustomChildObject) cusBaseObject).setChildAttribute2(value2); In my case, it would very nice if I could do this. However, trying this without type-casting support, it gives me an error that the methods do not exist for the object. Thanks, Steve

  • BitSet to and from integer/long

    - by ataylor
If I have an integer that I'd like to perform bit manipulation on, how can I load it into a java.util.BitSet? How can I convert it back to an int or long? I'm not so concerned about the size of the BitSet -- it will always be 32 or 64 bits long. I'd just like to use the set(), clear(), nextSetBit(), and nextClearBit() methods rather than bitwise operators, but I can't find an easy way to initialize a bit set with a numeric type.

  • sql: Group by x,y,z; return grouped by x,y with lowest f(z)

    - by Sai Emrys
    This is for http://cssfingerprint.com I collect timing stats about how fast the different methods I use perform on different browsers, etc., so that I can optimize the scraping speed. Separately, I have a report about what each method returns for a handful of URLs with known-correct values, so that I can tell which methods are bogus on which browsers. (Each is different, alas.) The related tables look like this: CREATE TABLE `browser_tests` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `bogus` tinyint(1) DEFAULT NULL, `result` tinyint(1) DEFAULT NULL, `method` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `url` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `os` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `browser` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `version` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `created_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, `updated_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, `user_agent` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=33784 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 CREATE TABLE `method_timings` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `method` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `batch_size` int(11) DEFAULT NULL, `timing` int(11) DEFAULT NULL, `os` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `browser` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `version` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `user_agent` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `created_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, `updated_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=28849 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 (user_agent is broken down pre-insert into browser, version, and os from a small list of recognized values using regex; I keep the original user-agent string just in case.) I have a query like this that tells me the average timing for every non-bogus browser / version / method tuple: select c, avg(bogus) as bog, timing, method, browser, version from browser_tests as b inner join ( select count(*) as c, round(avg(timing)) as timing, method, browser, version from method_timings group by browser, version, method having c > 10 order by browser, version, timing ) as t using (browser, version, method) group by browser, version, method having bog < 1 order by browser, version, timing; Which returns something like: c bog tim method browser version 88 0.8333 184 reuse_insert Chrome 4.0.249.89 18 0.0000 238 mass_insert_width Chrome 4.0.249.89 70 0.0400 246 mass_insert Chrome 4.0.249.89 70 0.0400 327 mass_noinsert Chrome 4.0.249.89 88 0.0556 367 reuse_reinsert Chrome 4.0.249.89 88 0.0556 383 jquery Chrome 4.0.249.89 88 0.0556 863 full_reinsert Chrome 4.0.249.89 187 0.0000 105 jquery Chrome 5.0.307.11 187 0.8806 109 reuse_insert Chrome 5.0.307.11 123 0.0000 110 mass_insert_width Chrome 5.0.307.11 176 0.0000 231 mass_noinsert Chrome 5.0.307.11 176 0.0000 237 mass_insert Chrome 5.0.307.11 187 0.0000 314 reuse_reinsert Chrome 5.0.307.11 187 0.0000 372 full_reinsert Chrome 5.0.307.11 12 0.7500 82 reuse_insert Chrome 5.0.335.0 12 0.2500 102 jquery Chrome 5.0.335.0 [...] I want to modify this query to return only the browser/version/method with the lowest timing - i.e. something like: 88 0.8333 184 reuse_insert Chrome 4.0.249.89 187 0.0000 105 jquery Chrome 5.0.307.11 12 0.7500 82 reuse_insert Chrome 5.0.335.0 [...] How can I do this, while still returning the method that goes with that lowest timing? • Detect CJK characters in PHP

    - by Jasie
Hello, I've got an input box that allows UTF8 characters -- can I detect whether the characters are in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean programmatically (part of some Unicode range, perhaps)? I would change search methods depending on if MySQL's fulltext searching would work (it won't work for CJK characters). Thanks!

  • Getting PHP error/warnings when using CodeIgniter 2 to send email

    - by Sparky672
I'm using Ion Auth and trying to implement the forgotten password feature which relies upon an email being sent from CI. My LAMP server is on a shared cPanel account and uses sendmail. However, I have the ability to over-ride any PHP settings with my own php.ini file in the public_html directory. As per the CodeIgniter 2 documentation for configuring email sending, I have done the following... 1) created a file called located at application/config/email.php 2) email.php contains this code: <?php if ( ! defined('BASEPATH')) exit('No direct script access allowed'); /* | ------------------------------------------------------------------- | EMAIL SENDING SETTINGS | ------------------------------------------------------------------- */ $config['protocol'] = 'sendmail'; /* End of file email.php */ /* Location: ./application/config/email.php */ 3) The in the application/config/ion_auth.php file, I set this value to TRUE $config['use_ci_email'] = TRUE; The email is successfully sent, but I get a variety of PHP Error Warnings on all pages. These appear on all pages, sometimes two or three times in a row: A PHP Error was encountered Severity: Warning Message: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are required to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/New_York' for 'EST/-5.0/no DST' instead Filename: libraries/Email.php Line Number: 704 A PHP Error was encountered Severity: Warning Message: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are required to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/New_York' for 'EST/-5.0/no DST' instead Filename: libraries/Email.php Line Number: 709 In addition to the above, these two also show up after the forgotten password form is submitted: A PHP Error was encountered Severity: Warning Message: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/username/codeigniter/system/core/Exceptions.php:185) Filename: libraries/Session.php Line Number: 675 A PHP Error was encountered Severity: Warning Message: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/username/codeigniter/system/core/Exceptions.php:185) Filename: helpers/url_helper.php Line Number: 540 I'm not sure why I would be getting these Error Warnings or how else I am supposed to configure my email sending options. I don't see any other email sending options in the documentation that is related to these particular Warning Messages. When I remove my config/email.php file AND set Ion Auth's use_ci_email to FALSE, the Error Warnings go away. Where did I go wrong? Just before I hit the submit button, I solved this problem. I'm still going to post this question as a learning experience for others. If nobody solves this after a reasonable amount of time, I'll post the solution.

  • algorithm optimization: returning object and sub-objects from single SQL statement in PHP

    - by pocketfullofcheese
I have an object oriented PHP application. I have a simple hierarchy stored in an SQL table (Chapters and Authors that can be assigned to a chapter). I wrote the following method to fetch the chapters and the authors in a single query and then loop through the result, figuring out which rows belong to the same chapter and creating both Chapter objects and arrays of Author objects. However, I feel like this can be made a lot neater. Can someone help? function getChaptersWithAuthors($monographId, $rangeInfo = null) { $result =& $this->retrieveRange( 'SELECT mc.chapter_id, mc.monograph_id, mc.chapter_seq, ma.author_id, ma.monograph_id, mca.primary_contact, mca.seq, ma.first_name, ma.middle_name, ma.last_name, ma.affiliation, ma.country, ma.email, ma.url FROM monograph_chapters mc LEFT JOIN monograph_chapter_authors mca ON mc.chapter_id = mca.chapter_id LEFT JOIN monograph_authors ma ON ma.author_id = mca.author_id WHERE mc.monograph_id = ? ORDER BY mc.chapter_seq, mca.seq', $monographId, $rangeInfo ); $chapterAuthorDao =& DAORegistry::getDAO('ChapterAuthorDAO'); $chapters = array(); $authors = array(); while (!$result->EOF) { $row = $result->GetRowAssoc(false); // initialize $currentChapterId for the first row if ( !isset($currentChapterId) ) $currentChapterId = $row['chapter_id']; if ( $row['chapter_id'] != $currentChapterId) { // we're on a new row. create a chapter from the previous one $chapter =& $this->_returnFromRow($prevRow); // set the authors with all the authors found so far $chapter->setAuthors($authors); // clear the authors array unset($authors); $authors = array(); // add the chapters to the returner $chapters[$currentChapterId] =& $chapter; // set the current id for this row $currentChapterId = $row['chapter_id']; } // add every author to the authors array if ( $row['author_id'] ) $authors[$row['author_id']] =& $chapterAuthorDao->_returnFromRow($row); // keep a copy of the previous row for creating the chapter once we're on a new chapter row $prevRow = $row; $result->MoveNext(); if ( $result->EOF ) { // The result set is at the end $chapter =& $this->_returnFromRow($row); // set the authors with all the authors found so far $chapter->setAuthors($authors); unset($authors); // add the chapters to the returner $chapters[$currentChapterId] =& $chapter; } } $result->Close(); unset($result); return $chapters; } PS: the _returnFromRow methods simply construct an Chapter or Author object given the SQL row. If needed, I can post those methods here.

  • Best method to store Enum in Database

    - by LnDCobra
What is the best method of storing an Enum in a Database using C# And Visual Studio and MySQL Data Connector. I am going to be creating a new project with over 100 Enums, and majority of them will have to be stored in the database. Creating converters for each one would be a long winded process therefore I'm wondering if visual studio or someone has any methods for this that I haven't heard off.

I have written an O/R database wrapper that generates some wrapper methods for stored procs it reads from the database. Now I need to produce some custom wrapper code if an input parameter of a stored proc is defaulted to NULL. The problem is - I get stored proc parameters using: SqlCommandBuilder.DeriveParameters(command) and it doesn't bring parameter defaults. Is there any way to look up those defaults? Are they stored anywhere in the database? BTW, I'm using SQL Server 2008
