  When trying to do an svn up I get the normal At revision XX even though some files are missing, the missing files do show when doing an svn list example: $ svn list > ConditionTest.java > persistence $ ls > persistence $ svn list > ConditionTest.java > persistence/ $ svn up > Is at revision 55 $ ls > persistence The file ConditionTest.java is not added unless manually running svn up ConditionTest.java What is up? • Can't copy files from network drive

  I have weird problem with copying files. When I copy file from network drive into C drive nothing happens but when I copy file from network drive to desktop I can copy the file. Also if I copy files from desktop into C it works fine. I have full local admin permission on this PC and the network drive.   I'm trying to delete old SVN files from directory tree. shutil.rmtree and os.unlink raise WindowsErrors, because the script doesn't have permissions to delete them. How can I get around that? • Jail user to home directory while still allowing permission to create and delete files/folders

  I'm trying to give a client SFTP access to the root directory of their site on my server (Ubuntu 10.10) so they can manager their website themselves. While I have been successful in jailing a user to a directory and giving them SFTP access; they are only allowed to create and delete new files in sub directories (the directories they own). This means that I must give them access to the parent directory to the root of their site. How can I limit them to the root of their site (for example public_html) while still allowing them the ability create and delete files. All the tutorials I have read suggest that the root must be the owner of the user's home directory, which prevents them from write access inside that directory. I'm relatively new to managing my own server so any advice would be very grateful. Many thanks.

I thought I should give it a try, and the application keeps crashing when I throw the exception from the APCProc. • Quickly accessing files in a 'project'

  Hi all. I'm looking for a way to quickly open files in my project's source tree. What I've been doing so far is adding files to the file-name-cache like so: (file-cache-add-directory-recursively (concat project-root "some/sub/folder") ".*\\.\\(py\\)$") after which I can use anything-for-files to access any file in the source tree with about 4 keystrokes. Unfortunately, this solution started falling over today. I've added another folder to the cache and emacs has started running out of memory. What's weird is that this folder contains less than 25% of files I'm adding, and yet emacs memory use goes up from 20mb to 400mb on adding just this folder. The total number of files is around 2000, so this memory use seems very high. Presumably I'm abusing the file cache. Anyway, what do other people do for this? I like this solution for its simplicity and speed; I've looked at some of the many, many project management packages for emacs and none of them really grabbed me... Thanks in advance! Simon

• Sharing files between multiple computers?

  At my school, we have 13 iMacs that we use to make our yearbook. Currently our school has some servers for us, but since we work with so many files ( thousands of pictures, most of which are ~3MB ) it slows down far too much. Is there a way to better share files between our computers? We are on a wireless network and the whole school shares the same servers, we have around probably 400 computers in the school. Is there a hardware fix I can do? Something like buying an external and hooking only yearbook computers to it?

• What did they program this toy with?

  A rather strange question: I'm often asking myself with what programming languages things were created. I recently found this toy mini computer I played with when I was 13 or so at home. (Note: It is not one of those toy "notebooks", it's really small and came as an extra with a magazine) "Features": Hadware: LCD with a small field of pixels where the games were going on, besides that some stats such as score, highscore etc. Sounds and horrible music when started A really small "keyboard" with a wire Software: At least 14 or so games, from Snake over Tetris and Breakdown to some abomination of a car racing game A calculator Game selecting menu An alarm clock Inside there is a really small circuit board, I don't want to open the thing up now, though. Can you imagine if the games and "Operating System" of this thing where actually programmed using a language? If yes, what language could it be? If not with a programming language, how else was it created?

• .htaccess - deny downloading of files

  I keep several fonts in the directory "/fonts/" on my server which I then load into my css files via @font-face. However, I want to make sure that people cannot download the file just by simply going to http://www.domain.com/fonts/fontname.ttf. Can I somehow prevent this, and still be able to load the font files into my css files? Because I think putting deny from all into the .htaccess file will even prevent the css files for correctly loading the fonts. I hope this makes sense.

  I am working on a factorisation problem and for small numbers it is working well. I've been able to calculate the factors (getting the answers from Wolfram Alpha) for small numbers, like the one on the Wikipedia page (5959). Along with the Wikipedia page I have been following this guide. Once again, as my Math knowledge is pretty poor I cannot follow what I need to do next. EDIT: It finally works! I'll post the working code up here once I've got it fully working so that others in my predicament can learn from it.

  I have a set of files from example001.txt to example100.txt. Each file contains a list of keywords from a superset (the superset is available if we want it). So example001.txt might contain apple banana ... otherfruit I'd like to be able to process these files and produce something akin to a matrix so there is the list of examples* on the top row, the fruit down the side, and a '1' in a column if the fruit is in the file.   I need to allow users to upload files onto a server that has an antivirus program running with real-time scanning switched on. What would be a good design to ensure that infected files are not uploaded to the server. Questions - would large files be copied onto disk and then immediately scanned, or would they be scanned as they are copied and not allowed to appear on disk if infected Should i build a seperate infrastructure around this to specifically ionvoke a scan on the copied file ? this might be an issue if the file is deleted through the real-time scan

• After deleting log files, Ubuntu server still saying there is no space

  My Ubuntu server has stopped due to a lack of disk space. I deleted some log files which has grown huge very quickly. But df -h still shows I have no space left. When I run du -sh /* I can see that I should have plenty of disk space left after deleting the logs. I ran lsof +L1 and it brought up two files: /var/log/mail.log and /var/log/mail.err. These are two logs I had deleted. I restarted apache, postfix and mysql (mysql wont restart because of lack of disk space, it think) but still df -h shows no space.

  UPDATE: I found another library in the Windows Mobile - CameraCaptureDialog - this did the job - never did figure out the zero length available devices... Hi all, I have a .net application running on a symbol mc75 (motorola) using the scanner. I am now trying to add functionality for the camera and I am running into issues. To find the 'devices' you are supposed to use the library's 'available devices' function. With the barcode it is symbol.barcode.devices.availabledevices and it returns two items (you can scan from the scanner or using the camera device) However, when I do the camera library it does not find any devices - symbol.imaging.devices.availabledevices returns 0 I can take a picture using the software on the mc75, so I know the functionality is there, I just can't figure out how to get to it programmatically.... Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help!

• Managing trace files on Sql Server 2005

  I need to manage the trace files for a database on Sql Server 2005 Express Edition. The C2 audit logging is turned on for the database, and the files that it's creating are eating up a lot of space. Can this be done from within Sql Server, or do I need to write a service to monitor these files and take the appropriate actions? I found the [master].[sys].[trace] table with the trace file properties. Does anyone know the meaning of the fields in this table?

• not able to open files in windows partition from linux on a dual boot system

  I have installed dual boot on my laptop, windows XP && Fedora linux. For some unknown reason windows XP is not booting up. Through fedora I'm able to see the windows XP partition and files in it. But the problem here is, I'm not able to open those files from linux. Does anybody hit this kind of issue, if so and incase you figured out the soluton, can you please share the solution? • unlock database files when SQL server is idle

  In my development/test environment on my laptop, I can't back up the SQL server database files because the file handles are kept permanently open by SQL server (VSS doesn't work because the drive is truecrypted) I was hoping there may be some setting in SQL server that can make it unlock the data files after a certain period of inactivity and automatically open them again on demand, but I can't find anything. I don't really want to be dumping the database out every night because it's only a development environment. apart from stopping sql server before I do the backup is there any other solution?
