• Problem deploying portlets on JBoss Portal 2.7.2: Not a canonical value

  I just downloaded the JBoss Portal Server 2.7.2 (JBoss Portal + JBoss AS 4.2.3 bundle to be precise) and tried deploying portlets just as the SimpleHelloWorld provided in the samples. The portlet gets deployed fine but when I put it on a page I get the following exception. I tried adding other Portlets as well (such as the booking MVC portelt supplied with Spring WebFlow dist) but the same problem happens. The problem happens when the new instances are created by me, example when i create a new instance of CMS Portlet, I get the same error. If I use an existing instance it works. If I deploy a portlet that creates an instance using the "portle-instances.xml" then it works fine, but creating additional instances using the Admin and deploying them on page fails due to the following error. What am I doing wrong? • wrong return value with jquery ajax and codeigniter

  I do not know if this is specifically a jquery problem, actually I think it has to mostly do with my logic in the php code. What Im trying to do is make a voting system that when the user clicks on the vote up or vote down link in the web page, it triggers an ajax call to a php function that first updates the database with with the required value, on success of the database updating the another function is called just to get the required updated html for the that particular post that the user has voted on. (hope I havnt lost you). The problem I think deals with specifically with this one line of code. When I make the call it only returns the value of $row-beer_down and completly ignores everything else in that line. Funny thing is the same php code to display the html view works perfectly before the ajax function updates it. echo "<p>Score " . $row->beer_up + $row->beer_down . • apache renew ssl not working [on hold]

  Downloaded a new ssl cert from go daddy and installed the cert on apache2 server put the cert in /etc/ssl/certs/ folder put the gd_bundle.crt in the /etc/ssl/ folder private key is in /etc/ssl/private/private.key I just replaced the original files with the new files, did not replace the private key. I restarted the server but the website is still showing old certificated date. What am I doing wrong and how do i resolve it ? my httpd.conf file is empty, the certificated config is in the sites-enabled/default-ssl file the server is apache2 running ubuntu 14.04 os SSLEngine on # A self-signed (snakeoil) certificate can be created by installing # the ssl-cert package. • Set default MySQL connect charset for PHP (in RHEL)?

  We're running a hundred or so legacy PHP websites on an older server which runs Gentoo Linux. When these sites were built latin1 was still the common charset, both in PHP and MySQL. To make sure those older sites used latin1 by default, while still allowing newer sites to use utf8 (our current standard), we set the default connect charset in php.ini: mysql.connect_charset = latin1 mysqli.connect_charset = latin1 pdo_mysql.connect_charset = latin1 Specific more modern sites could override this in their bootstrapping code with: <?php mysql_set_charset("utf8", $dsn ); ...and all was well. Now the server is overloaded and we're no longer with that hoster, so we're moving all these sites to a faster server at our standard hoster, which uses RHEL 5 as their OS of choice. In setting up this new server I discover to my surprise that the *.connect_charset directives are a Gentoo specific patch to PHP, and RHEL's version of PHP doesn't recognize them! Now how do I set PHP to connect to MySQL with the latin1 charset? I thought about setting a default in my.cnf but would prefer not to force every app and client to default to latin1. Our policy is to use utf8, and we'd like to restrict the exception to PHP only. Also, converting every legacy site to properly use utf8 is not doable since many are of the touch 'm and you break 'm kind. We simply don't have the time to go fix them all. How would I set a default mysql/mysqli/pdo_mysql connection charset to latin1 for PHP, while still allowing individual scripts to override this to utf8 with mysql_set_charset()?

• Can you make a Windows network default user profile NOT apply to a certain operating system?

  I would like to create a network Default User account for Windows 7 only. This is on a Windows 2003 domain with servers from Windows 2000 to 2008 R2 and Windows XP on workstation side. We're about to do a full migration to Windows 7 and I'd like to start using the network default user profile functionality as we're not migrating user profiles over. Want everyone to start clean. I followed the simple steps from this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973289 under the heading: "How to turn the default user profile into a network default user profile in Windows 7 and in Windows Server 2008 R2" but the problem is that profile would then apply to a new user\admin logging into a 2008 server. That's no good. Anyone have any ideas on how to limit what actually uses that network profile? I was thinking about setting deny permissions for all my admin\service accounts on that "\\dcserver\netlogon\Default User.v2" folder but then it might be timing out and cause other problems. Haven't tried yet as that seems like a bad way of making this work.

  I can't really show the code in Unix, but I can explain it very clearly. In the terminal, when you type "df", you get information on the disk free space all in KILOBYTE units. KILOBYTES is currently set as the default in Unix. My problem is trying to change the default from KILOBYTES to MEGABYTES. After changing of the default, I should be able to type in "df" and all the disk free space should come up in MEGABYTES.

  Windows 8 comes with two versions of Internet Explorer: the normal desktop version, which looks just like IE9, and the Modern UI version, which is a full-screen tablet-style app. By default, links opened in desktop mode open in desktop IE, and links opened in Modern UI apps open in the full-screen app. When you set a new default browser (like Google Chrome, which has a Modern UI mode now), you can no longer access IE10 in the Modern UI at all - the tile disappears from the start screen, and there's no way to manually invoke it. I don't use IE10 much, but I'd like to have access to it in Metro mode, because it's handy for testing things out. I don't want to have IE be my default browser though. Is there any way to get the IE10 "App" to show up without setting IE to be the default browser everywhere?

  I understand that Kod is being actively developed and is prone to drastic changes in any area. I would like to modify some small things (like font face and size or certain colors) while still being able to benefit from any changes or updates to the default Kod stylesheet. I thought that I would be able to @import the default stylesheet into my own to achieve this.   I've got many FAT32 drives that I'd like to mount in Ubuntu such that they have permission mode 700 for directories and 600 for all other files. By default, they have 755 for all files, which is not particularly useful since almost no non-directories should be executable, and it screws up version control repos hosted on the drives. "Back in the day" I would have had the drives listed in /etc/fstab with the umask/dmask I want and there was no such thing as a default. These days, drives automount under their volume names. Which is great, except now I have no idea how to set the default. I have tried changing the /system/storage/default_options/vfat/mount_options gconf key with no apparently effect. It was 077 initially but the mounted drive reflected a default of 022; changing it and re-inserting the drives resulted in the files still having permission bits of 755.

  I am dual-booting between Windows 7 and Windows 8 on a test workstation, and typically reboot 3-4 times per day. If I set Windows 8 as the default OS, I get the Windows 8 graphical boot screen, which is easy to 'see' during the boot process, but if I set Windows 7 as the default OS, I only get the Windows 7 text-mode boot screen. While I mostly want Windows 7 (at the moment), on the occasions I restart to get to Windows 8, I often 'miss' seeing the text-only boot and have to restart twice. Is it possible to (and if so, how do I) configure this such that Windows 7 is the default OS, but still having the Windows 8 boot screen appear? Edit: Just so you guys know, I've tried setting Windows 7 as the default both from the Windows 8 Boot screen itself, and from within Windows 8 -- neither of these have the desired effect.

  Yesterday I tried to deploy a Business Data Connectivity Model project created in Visual Studio 2010 to my SharePoint 2010 test server (all RTM versions), but during the deployment of the solution, SharePoint threw my following error: Add Solution:  Adding solution 'BCSDemo2.wsp'...  Deploying solution 'BCSDemo2.wsp'...Error occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': The default web application could not be determined. Set the SiteUrl property in feature BCSDemo2_Feature1 to the URL of the desired site and retry activation.Parameter name: properties A little bit of searching on the internet taught me that I was not the only one having this issue, actually Paul Andrew describes how to solve it in this post. Although Paul describes what to do, his explanation is not, let’s say, very elaborate. :-) So let’s describe the steps a little bit more in detail: Create a new Business Data Connectivity Model project in Visual Studio 2010 and (optionally) implement all your code, change the model etc. When you try to deploy you get the error mentioned above. To fix it, in the Solution Explorer, navigate to and open the Feature1.Template.xml file (the name could be different if you decided to give your feature a different name of course). Add the following XML in the Feature element that’s already there (replace the Value with the URL of your site of course):  <Properties>    <Property Key='SiteUrl' Value='http://spf.u2ucourse.com'/>  </Properties>The resulting XML should look like:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?><Feature xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">  <Properties>    <Property Key='SiteUrl' Value='http://spf.u2ucourse.com'/>  </Properties></Feature> Deploy the solution, now without any issues. :-) What happens now, is that when Visual Studio creates the SharePoint Solution (the WSP file), it will use the Feature template XML to generate the Feature manifest, which will now include the missing property.

  I'd been searching for a way to do cookie based authentication/sessions in Google App Engine because I don't like the idea of memcache based sessions, and I also don't like the idea of forcing users to create google accounts just to use a website. I stumbled across someone's posting that mentioned some signed cookie functions from the Tornado framework and it looks like what I need. What I have in mind is storing a user's id in a tamper proof cookie, and maybe using a decorator for the request handlers to test the authentication status of the user, and as a side benefit the user id will be available to the request handler for datastore work and such. The concept would be similar to forms authentication in ASP.NET. This code comes from the web.py module of the Tornado framework. According to the docstrings, it "Signs and timestamps a cookie so it cannot be forged" and "Returns the given signed cookie if it validates, or None." I've tried to use it in an App Engine Project, but I don't understand the nuances of trying to get these methods to work in the context of the request handler. Can someone show me the right way to do this without losing the functionality that the FriendFeed developers put into it? In this case, application works fine, memory doesn't go out of. I have a conclusion that the blob field which is marked as lazy (@Basic(fetch=FetchType.LAZY)) isn't lazy, actually! Is that a mistake in Rally rest .net api or should i do any extra steps to get the CreatResult seamlessly in case of any errors returned by Rally service? Many thanks for your helps.

• jqGrid Coloring an entire line in Grid based upon a cells value

  Hi all, i know it's been asked before but i cant get it to run and i'm out of things to try. So i want to colorize a row in a Grid if its value is not 1 - i use a custom formatter for this. The formatter itself works, thats not the problem. I've tried multple ways I've found so far on the web - adding a class, directly adding css code, using setRowData, using setCell.... • jQuery Ajax call - Set variable value on success.

  Hey all, I have an application that I am writing that modifies data on a cached object in the server. The modifications are performed through an ajax call that basically updates properties of that object. When the user is done working, I have a basic 'Save Changes' button that allows them to Save the data and flush the cached object. In order to protect the user, I want to warn them if the try to navigate away from the page when modifications have been made to the server object if they have not saved. So, I created a web service method called IsInitialized that will return true or false based on whether or not changes have been saved. If they have not been saved, I want to prompt the user and give them a chance to cancel their navigation request. Here's my problem - although I have the calls working correctly, I can't seem to get the ajax success call to set the variable value on its callback function. How do I set a javascript variable on the Success callback so that I can decide whether or not the user should be prompted w/ the unsaved changes message? As was just pointed out, I am making an asynchronous call, which means the rest of the code gets called before my method returns. Is there a way to use that ajax call, but still catch the window.onunload event? (without making synchronos ajax)
