  I am using jQuery and my js file thats calling a jquery function resides in totally different directory than jQuery is in. I need to call this function reloadPage like this from js file reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); but it gives me an error Line: 341 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method Line 341 is reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID});. What can I do to run this function from outside the directory? I tried parent.reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); But that didnt work either.

  Hi i have a scenario like myclass obj1 = new myclass(); ............//some operations on obj1; myclass obj2 = new myclass(); obj2 = obj1; now, my problem is if i modify any parameter, it is effected in both objects (as both refer to same location). but, when i modify obj2 parameter, it should not parameter value in obj1. (means both should not point to same location). how can i do that? please help me

  I have several nested functions, some of which as called in lapply clauses. In the process, sometimes I don't set a default for a parameter and instead check if it was supplied using the missing function. I'm getting a strange error right now when I'm not passing a value for a parameter, it has no default, yet missing resolves to FALSE. And when I try to use or check the parameter in any other way (using length, exists, etc.), I get an error: Error in try(length(x)) : argument "data" is missing, with no default Has anyone experienced this failure of the missing function before?

• XSLT: How do I trigger a template when there is no input file?

  I'm creating a template which produces output based on a single string, passed via parameter, and does not use an input XML document. xsltproc seems to happily run with a single parameter specifying the stylesheet, but I don't see a way to trigger a template without an input file (no parameter to xsltproc to run a named template, for example). I'd like to be able to run: xsltproc --stringparam bar baz foo.xsl But I'm currently having to run, with the "main" template matching "/": echo '<xml/>' | xsltproc --stringparam bar baz foo.xsl - How can I get this to work? I'm sure I've seen other templates in the past which were meant to be run without an input document, but I don't remember how they worked or where to find them again. :-)

  Hello, I have a WCF service that accepts requests from JQuery. Currently, I can access this service. However, the parameter value is always null.   Hi, I noticed that my app is very slow sometimes, so I've done some tests. It's a very simple web app. One servlet gets some parameters than stores them. Everything's fine except one thing. It takes too long to get a parameter for the first time. It doesn't matter which parameter I try to get, but for the first time it is very slow. The strange thing is this doesn't happen always. Sometimes getting a parameter for the first time is not slow. My code looks like this request.getParameter("paramName"); request.getParameter("paramName2"); request.getParameter("paramName3"); Getting "paramName" is slow. Getting the others is very fast. By slow I mean : 200-800 millisec By very fast I mean: ~0 millisec (in the code snippet, I didn't write the performance test, but I'm using System.currentTimeMillis())

  I am using jquery getJSON with asp.net mvc controller...   My application is basically a shell which expects an input of type cmd [x], where cmd is constant and x is optional. So cmd 1 is legal as well as cmd by itself - then I assume a default parameter for x. I am doing this: char cmd[64]; scanf("%s", cmd); int arg; scanf("%d", &arg); // but this should be optional How can I read the integer parameter, and set it to a default if none is currently available in the prompt? I do not want the prompt to wait for additional input if it was not given in the original command. I tried several versions using fgetc() and getchar() and comparing them to EOF but to no avail. Each version I tried ends up waiting on that optional integer parameter.

If I were in lisp I would do: (defun ct (&key options driver_options) (do-something-with-option-and-driver_option)) But since I am in PHP I would rather have a constructor that take a list of parameter and let them be null if there a not require. So what do you guys think about having an array as parameter in other to do some initialization-or-whatever? In other to answer you have to take in account the point of view of the user of the function and the designer of the API. Also have you ever heard this has a code-smell? thanks

  Is it possible to: set a URI template in the mvc:view-controller element of the *-servlet.xml file or in a controller method and then use/get that path parameter in a jsp? I understand that using @PathVariable in a controller method will give me access to the path parameter in that controller method. But how can I gain access to the path parameter in the jsp? For example, is it possible to do something like: *-servlet.xml file: <beans...> <mvc:view-controller path="/home" view-name="home"/> <mvc:view-controller path="/home/{error}" view-name="home"/> </beans> jsp file: <c:if test="${not empty param['error']}"> <span class="error">You have an error...</span> </c:if>

  I'm starting learning javascript for a project, I've found a script that does a part of what I need to do, I'd like to know how it works, both for me and in case it needs to be modified. Originally it was used inside the page, now I've put it in a file on its own and does not work anymore, so I'm dividing it in parts, because I fail to get the whole thing. Here is what bother me most for now: 1) Is this a declaration a function? What is its name? How can it be invoked? (function() { //some code })(); 2) No clue of what is going on here var VARIABLE = VARIABLE || {}; 3) Am I defining a the implementation of methodCall here? • How to structure (normalize?) a database of physical parameters?

  Hello: I have a collection of physical parameters associated with different items. For example: Item, p1, p2, p3 a, 1, 2, 3 b, 4, 5, 6 [...] where px stands for parameter x. I could go ahead and store the database exactly as presented; the schema would be CREATE TABLE t1 (item TEXT PRIMARY KEY, p1 FLOAT, p2 FLOAT, p3 FLOAT); I could retrieve the parameter p1 for all the items with the statement: SELECT p1 FROM t1; A second alternative is to have an schema like: CREATE TABLE t1 (id INT PRIMARY KEY, item TEXT, par TEXT, val FLOAT) This seems much simpler if you have many parameters (as I do). However, the parameter retrieval seems very awkward: SELECT val FROM t1 WHERE par == 'p1' What do you advice? Should go for the "pivoted" (first) version or the id, par, val (second) version? • Problem getting value from "Checkbox group value prompt"

  Hi, I've value prompt with ui:checkbox group parameter: p_IsLastMonth Name: Prompt_IsLastMonth ItemCount: 1; UseValue:Yes, DisplayValue: LastMonth? and two Date Prompts. Whenever the checkbox is checked, the UseValue 'Yes' is passed to the parameter 'p_IsLastMonth'. But whenever the checkbox is left as it is, it results in an error. Element 'selectOptions' is not valid for content model: 'All(style,defaultSelections,conditionalStyles,conditionalRender,XMLAttributes)' I also tried giving a default value. But the default value has to be in the collection. But i want only one checkbox to be displayed. I tried with html checkbox. But i'm not able to send the value 'either yes or no' to the parameter through javascript because however the finish button overrides the value. Any help?

  Given a method that accepts as a parameter a certain supertype. Is there any way, within that method, to determine the actual class of the object that was passed to it? I.e. if a subtype of the allowable parameter was actually passed, is there a way to find out which type it is? If this isn't possible can someone explain why not (from a language design perspective)?   Hello, I'm writing an application that runs "things" to a schedule. Idea being that the database contains assembly, method information and also the parameter values. The timer will come along, reflect the method to be run, add the parameters and then execute the method. Everything is fine except for the parameters. So, lets say the method accepts an ENUM of CustomerType where CustomerType has two values of CustomerType.Master and CustomerType.Associate. EDIT I don't the type of parameter that will be getting passed in. ENUM used as an example END OF EDIT We want to run Method "X" and pass in parameter "CustomerType.Master". In the database, there will be a varchar entry of "CustomerType.Master". How do I convert the string "CustomerType.Master" into a type of CustomerType with a value of "Master" generically? I cannot pass g to f because of compilation error (no matching function for call to f(int&, void (&)(int&)) ). If g would take non-reference parameter g(int s), compilation finishes.   I would like to add an additional parameter in my url, the use case is the following: When user do their login they also specify a 'company' name and from that moment on, all urls should map to: /$company/$controller/$action/$id The main idea is to have the current company name available in all url's, have it bookmarkable, and not to have to pass the company name everywhere as a request parameter. Also, once users are logged in it is acceptable to have the chosen company name in session scope. What is the right way of inserting this parameter in all our urls?   I have a small Resharper Template I have written for Null check of a function Parameter (C#). Check.IsNotNull($param$, "$param$"); - Suggest Parameter - #1 I can now null check the function paramters one by one. But I want to be able to null check all the paramters at once through a template. Is it Possible in Resharper?. Is there someting like a "$Foreach" using which I can loop through parameter variables and write the code to check them one by one ?. (without writing out the foreach into the code) I see that the "Alt + Ins" does something similar. (Taking all Properties on the class and making them as parameters of a constructor). So hoping that there's a way out.

  I'm trying to pass 3 parameter to a script, where the 3rd parameter $_GET['value3'] is supposed to be an array $_GET['value1'] $_GET['value2'] $_GET['value3'] //an array of items I'm calling the script like this: (notice my syntax for value3, I'm not sure it's correct) http://localhost/test.php?value1=test1&value2=test2&value3=[the, array, values] I then use a foreach to hopefully loop through the third parameter value3 which is the array //process the first input $_GET['value1'] //process the second input $_GET['value2'] //process the third input $_GET['value3'] which is the array foreach($_GET['value3'] as $arrayitem){ echo $arrayitem; } but I get the error Invalid argument supplied for foreach() I'm not sure if my methodology is correct.   Based on my limited understanding of this parameter [1] it seems to be used in representing cookieless session IDs in java applications... but strangely, we're now noticing that a 3-year-old .NET stack is now appearing in Bing SERPs with GXHC_gx_session_id appended to the domain - and we're not alone: http://www.bing.com/search?q=GXHC_gx_session_id http://www.google.ca/#hl=en&q=GXHC_gx_session_id When comparing Google SERPs to Bing SERPs there are some inconsistencies in whether a particular site carries this parameter - is it then a bing-specific issue only? What else could cause this parameter to be appended to indexed URLs if the target environment (anything behind the load balancers) isn't running java?   I'm trying to 'inject' an [All Regions] item into my regions dropdown, as follows: <asp:DropDownList ID="regionList" runat="server" AutoPostBack="true" AppendDataBoundItems="true" Width="200px" DataSourceID="regionDataSource" DataTextField="Desc" DataValueField="RegionId"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="">[All Regions]</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> I also have a rank dropdown, for taxi ranks in a region, with the following select parameter: <asp:ControlParameter ControlID="regionList" Name="RegionId" PropertyName="SelectedValue" Type="Int32" DefaultValue="" ConvertEmptyStringToNull="true" /> So the expected behaviour is that when [All Regions] is selected, the ranks dropdown should get a null parameter, and mt SQL selects all ranks, for all regions. I know my SQL works with a null parameter, but the ranks dropdown is not data binding when I select [All Regions] on the region list. It binds when I select a region from the DB, but keeps that binding when I select [All Regions] again. What am I doing wrong?

It does not represent the table name I pass in as the parameter TableName and this parameter does not get mutated so I don't know where the name Table comes from. I'd expect the table to be the same as the tableName parameter I pass in? Any idea why this is not so? Thanks
