Embed javascript in markdown

I'm using the Maruku markdown processor. I'd like this
*blah* blah "blah" in [markdown](blah)
<script src="code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script>
<script>
...do stuff...
</script>
but it complains when I render it with a multitude of errors. The first one being
