  • Stack Overflows in the Eclipse JSP Editor

    When editing JSPs in Eclipse, I periodically get stack overflows. Once I get one, each time I click a character I get a pop-up telling me there was another stack overflow. This continues until I close the JSP and re-open it, at which time it's fine for a while. org.eclipse.jst.jsp.core.internal.parser.JSPSourceParser: input could not be parsed correctly at position 1 java.lang.StackOverflowError Has anyone else seen this issue, do you know the cause, and is there a way to fix it?

  • Java how can I add an accented "e" to a string?

    Hello, With the help of tucuxi from the existing post Java remove HTML from String without regular expressions I have built a method that will parse out any basic HTML tags from a string. Sometimes, however, the original string contains html hexadecimal characters like é (which is an accented e). I have started to add functionality which will translate these escaped characters into real characters. You're probably asking: Why not use regular expressions? Or a third party library? Unfortunately I cannot, as I am developing on a BlackBerry platform which does not support regular expressions and I have never been able to successfully add a third party library to my project. So, I have gotten to the point where any é is replaced with "e". My question now is, how do I add an actual 'accented e' to a string?     I have created a .pes file using PhysicsEditor and imported as xml and have added to my project. When I parsed it and created bodies, it is showing strange behavior. The mapping of bodies that I created in PhysicsEditor is totally different what I see in my application means the shapes I draw in PhysicsEditor are rendering differently in my app. Here is my xml and code to parse and add bodies to scene.     Hi Everyone, I'm very close and have this working in Safari, Firefox and IE8, however IE7 the labels and radio buttons do not align vertically. Thanks! EDIT: Based on the suggestion to check the rest of my html and css. I updated the code above and now it accurately demonstrates the problem. If I take font-size out of #master-container it lines up but then it is not the proper font-size. I tried to add a font-size to ul.inputlist li input but that didn't help. Any suggestions?     How do you enable actions like Goto line number Find(/Replace) There don't appear to be default triggers for these actions. There are a bunch of methods on the control, but I'm missing the first step of how to get the 'events' that would trigger these. For instance, how does one hook ctrl+f or F3/Alt+F3 in the control and make them do a find? Should I be looking at each key using EVT_STC_KEY? Would also like any examples of using this control with Custom language definition (say something similar to C++, but not C++) Auto completion (basic keywords to start, or including variables)

  • Input boxes with transparent background are not clickable in IE8

    I have an absolutely positioned input box in a form. The input box has transparent background: .form-page input[type="text"] { border: none; background-color: transparent; /* Other stuff: font-weight, font-size */ } Surprisingly, I cannot select this input box by clicking on it in IE8. It works perfectly in Firefox however. The same happens for background: none. When I change the background color: background-color: red; It works fine, so this is issue associated with transparent background. Setting a border makes the input box selectable by clicking on its border only. Is there a workaround to have clickable input box with transparent background working in IE8? Update: Example. Uncomment background-color and the inputbox is selectable.   • jquery wait till large document is loaded

    In my web application I call a document can be huge. This document is loaded into an iframe. I have a title, buttons and the text which all depends on this document. The text is from the large document and is displayed in the iframe. I'd like to show an animated gif while the document is loading on 3 places (1: document title, 2: document buttons, 3: document text, the iframe) I've tried the onload event on the Iframe, but this doesn't give the me the desired effect.   • Using Regex, how can I remove certain characters from inside angle-brackets, leaving the characters

    Edit: To be clear, please understand that I am not using Regex to parse the html, that's crazy talk! I'm simply wanting to clean up a messy string of html so it will parse Edit #2: I should also point out that the control character I'm using is a special unicode character - it's not something that would ever be used in a proper tag under any normal circumstances Suppose I have a string of html that contains a bunch of control characters and I want to remove the control characters from inside tags only, leaving the characters outside the tags alone. For example Here the control character is the numeral "1". Input The quick 1<strong>orange</strong> lemming <sp11a1n 1class1='jumpe111r'11>jumps over</span> 1the idle 1frog Desired Output The quick 1<strong>orange</strong> lemming <span class='jumper'>jumps over</span> 1the idle 1frog So far I can match tags which contain the control character but I can't remove them in one regex. I guess I could perform another regex on my matches, but I'd really like to know if there's a better way.     I've been off in Java land for about a month or so and now, upon returning to XCode I feel lost. I've upgraded 1st to 3.1.2 then recently to 3.2 and also got a new Mac with Snow Leopard so I'm not exactly sure when the problem surfaced. I just know that I used to get little red bubbles in my unit test next to the failing asserts and that no longer seems to happen. Is there a way to restore this? I've been trying to use Apple's own SenTesting framework instead of GoogleTools for mac like I used to. Should I revert to Google Tools? Does anyone have an answer?

  • Stop IE users typing into the file upload input

    My testers have discovered that if you type free text into a file upload input then none of the buttons on the page work until that text is removed (so the page cannot be submitted). I am able to replicate this with the following ASPX code (with no code behind): <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <asp:FileUpload ID="fuTest" runat="server" /> <asp:Button ID="btnSubmit" runat="server" Text="Submit" /> </div> </form> </body> </html> (Note that I haven't bound any handlers to the page; despite this, the page is submitted when the submit button is clicked only if no text is entered into the upload text box) Is there any way to prevent users from typing free text into a file upload control? It seems that this is only possible in IE - Firefox and Chrome natively prevent text from being entered into upload input fields. I've seen solutions elsewhere which suggest hiding input and replacing it with a label / button combo, but this seems like it might cause more problems and work inconsistently across browsers. Any thoughts?

  • Implementing a Property Inspector/Editor in WPF

    So far my plan is to have an event "Item selected" which the property inspector listens to. The actual property inspector is just a ContentControl. When the object is selected the content property is set and the appropriate DataTemplate for editing the object is loaded. In general I am trying to do this "MVVM" style. I guess you could use reflection instead of templating but I only have a handful of types so far. Has anyone implemented something similar? Can you offer any advice or source code?

  • Vertical-Align: A Full Explanation

    I've been struggling with vertical alignments, a seemingly simple enough process that has a lot of idiosyncrasies throughout different languages and element types. I've done a lot of reading through stackexchange and can't seem to find a common thread of understanding. Here are the rules that I have been able to gather: 1) Vertical-align does not work in <\div>s, you have to set div {display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle} This seems like a big hassle, especially since table-cells override the height limitation even when overflow is set to hidden and expands to fit content, which means the vertical "center" is variable. I just read some source-code from Pinterest where button {vertical-align: middle}, but no other vertical-align commands seem to work. It seems as if button is by default aligned in the middle. Can someone provide a clear explanation for the vertical-align attribute? What html elements respond to vertical-align? Which html elements have default vertical-align attributes? Which html elements have non-overridable vertical-align attributes? And any clues as to understanding the idiosyncracies would help as well! Thanks in advance!

View.py includes: def pics(request): p = Photo.objects.all() return render_to_response('Shots.html', {'p': p}) The following simple code in the template will generate associated images: {% for p in p %} <img src = "{{ p.display.url }}"> <img src = "{{ p.thumbnail_image.url }}"> {% endfor %} I'm attempting to generate a series of thumbnails {{ p.thumbnail_image.url }} which, when mouseover'd, will generate the slightly larger version of the image, {{ p.display.url }} via Javascript. The following code in the template attempts to do so: <html> <head> <HEAD> <script language="Javascript"> { image1 = new Image image2 = new Image image1.src = {{ p.thumbnail_image.url }} image2.src = {{ p.display.url }} </script> </head> <body> {% for p in p %} <a href="" onMouseOver="document.rollover.src= image2.src onMouseOut="document.rollover.src= image1.src"> <img src="{{ p.thumbnail_image.url }}" border=0 name="rollover"></a> {% endfor %} </body> </html> This will display the series of thumbnails, but the larger image will not display when mouseover'd. I believe it has to do with how I'm specifying the variable {{ p.display.url }}.
