  • A PHP object server for business logic

    - by Matthieu
I wonder if such a thing is possible or even exist : In the MVC pattern, I would like to have the Model part to be persistant in memory, instead of reloading my instances at each execution. So I want only the Controller and View part to be executed. Is there any solution of server that would provide PHP objects (just like a Mysql server provides data records), and that keeps these objects in memory ? A problem would be also : how to have a constructed query to get objects ? Maybe PHP Linq ?

  • Wnat is the preferred method of building extremely lightweight business object / DAL now that I have

    - by Seth Spearman
Hello, I have completed a simple database for a project. Only 6tables. Of the 6, one is a "lookup" table. There is one "master" table that is the driver for the system. It is referenced as a foreign key by the other four tables. Give that this step is completed. What is the FASTEST, EASIEST way to create POCOs/BizObjects that can load load the data and the child data. Here are my CAVEATS. *I don't want to spend more than 30-60 minutes learning how? *There is very little biz logic needed in the POCOs. They will pretty much load data. Don't even really need to write back data. *I already know CSLA (up to version 3) but I feel that is overkill for this little project. *Nevertheless, I would love it if it ROOT objects could have collection classes that contain the CHILD objects as in CSLA...but again, without using CSLA. *Please give the answer for .NET 35 but also if I was restricted to only use .NET 20. *Ideally I could just point a tool at the database and the POCOs would be genn'ed. *FREE Just curious what you guys use for this kind of scenario. I understand that this question is subjective but I want to hear a variety of answers. Seth

  • MVC + Extjs + IIS6 + Wildcard Mapping = Post Form resulting in 302 object moved

    - by Orkun Balkanci
Everything seems to work fine until i want to submit the form and update the database. Wildcard mapping works on requests like "/navigation/edit/1", but when i submit the form as: var ajaxPost = function(Url, Params) { Ext.Ajax.request({ url: Url, params: Params, method: 'POST', async: false, scope: this }); }; it says "200 bad response: syntax error" and in firebug there is "Failed to load source for: http://.../Navigation/edit/1". Any help?

  • Objective-C: when does an assigned object get deallocated

    - by Stefan Klumpp
If I have a instance method and within this method I do something like this: NSString *peopleString = [peopleList componentsJoinedByString: @", "]; ... UILabel *likeLabel = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(16.0+6.0f, 4.0f, 252.0f, 12.0f)]; [likeLabel setText:peopleString]; [likeLabel setFont:[UIFont fontWithName:@"Arial" size:12]]; [likeRow addSubview:likeLabel]; [likeLabel release]; The componentsJoinedByString doesn't contain a new, copy or alloc, thus I don't have to release it. What I'm wondering though is, when my peopleString gets deallocated. Might it happen to early? Meaning, before I can set the text in my label. Should I better use a [[NSString alloc] initWithString:[peopleList componentsJoinedByString: @", "]]; and release it at the end of this method?

  • C# - Rollback SqlTransaction in catch block - Problem with object accessability

    - by Marks
Hi there. I've got a problem, and all articles or examples i found seem to not care about it. I want to do some database actions in a transaction. What i want to do is very similar to most examples: using (SqlConnection Conn = new SqlConnection(_ConnectionString)) { try { Conn.Open(); SqlTransaction Trans = Conn.BeginTransaction(); using (SqlCommand Com = new SqlCommand(ComText, Conn)) { /* DB work */ } } catch (Exception Ex) { Trans.Rollback(); return -1; } } But the problem is, that the SqlTransaction Trans is declared inside the try block. So it is not accessable in the catch() block. Most examples just do Conn.Open() and Conn.BeginTransaction() before the try block. But i think thats a bit risky, since both can throw multiple exceptions. Am I wrong, or do most people just ignore this risk? Whats the best solution to be able to rollback, if an exception happens. Thanks in advance, Marks

  • Exception "Illegal attempt to associate a collection with two open sessions" when saving object

    - by Alex
I am using CastleProject ActiveRecord and I use lazy load feature of this ORM. In order to make lazy load work, it is required to create SessionScope. I do this in Program.cs: public static SessionScope sessionScope; private static void InitializeActiveRecord() { ActiveRecordStarter.Initialize(); sessionScope = new SessionScope(); } This works fine for loading, however, when I try to save my objects, I get an exception saying "Illegal attempt to associate a collection with two open sessions". I guess this is due to the fact that I created one session myself. How to avoid this exception?

  • Process a batch of items, return an object to report on status

    - by Naeem Sarfraz
I'm looking for a pattern (or good practice) for the following scenario: My function List<BatchItemResponse> Process(List<BatchItem> Data) {..} will process a list of data, and return info on where each item in the batch could be processed. struct BatchItemResponse { int BatchItemID; bool Processed; string Description; } Any thoughts? Is what I've proposed as good as it gets?

    - by Arto Uusikangas

Sketchup::Face if (face.material) summa[face.material.display_name] += face.area end end Im trying to get the structure in the array as such: summa { "Bricks" = 500, "Planks" = 4000 } Making a ruby script for Google Sketchup btw But if I run this code i only get Error: #+' for nil:NilClass> C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 7\Plugins\test.rb:17 C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 7\Plugins\test.rb:14:ineach' C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 7\Plugins\test.rb:14 C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 7\Plugins\test.rb:8:in `call' As im used to using PHP and just doing $array['myownassoc'] += bignumber; But i guess this isnt the right approach when using Ruby? So any help in how i need to go would be nice.

  • how to insert the correct activex object in a MFC dialog

    - by kellogs
More exactly, the web browser control. In a WM6 dialog based MFC project. This is driving me nuts. Mr Google does not know a thing on this matter. I have tried embedding the "Microsoft Webbrowser Control" in my dialog box but at runtime I get some class not register error. I have heard that this happens because "Microsoft Webbrowser Control" is the windows desktop control, not the windows mobile one. Otherwise, I find it quite hard to believe that this control is really not registered even on the emulator (if it really wasn't registered, PIE would not start). Anybody used the webbrowser engine in a WM(6) MFC applications ? Even a CLSID would help... Thank you

  • Convert a "by" object to a data frame in R

    - by lorin
    I'm using the "by" function in R to chop up a data frame and apply a function to different parts, like this: pairwise.compare <- function(x) { Nright <- ... Nwrong <- ... Ntied <- ... return(c(Nright=Nright, Nwrong=Nwrong, Ntied=Ntied)) } Z.by <- by(rankings, INDICES=list(rankings$Rater, rankings$Class), FUN=pairwise.compare) The result (Z.by) looks something like this: : 4 : 357 Nright Nwrong Ntied 3 0 0 ------------------------------------------------------------ : 8 : 357 NULL ------------------------------------------------------------ : 10 : 470 Nright Nwrong Ntied 3 4 1 ------------------------------------------------------------ : 11 : 470 Nright Nwrong Ntied 12 4 1 What I would like is to have this result converted into a data frame (with the NULL entries not present) so it looks like this: Rater Class Nright Nwrong Ntied 1 4 357 3 0 0 2 10 470 3 4 1 3 11 470 12 4 1 How do I do that?

  • Comparing Object properties using reflection

    - by Kumar
I have two classes Address and Employee as follows: public class Address { public string AddressLine1 { get; set; } public string AddressLine2 { get; set; } public string City { get; set; } public string State { get; set; } public string Zip { get; set; } } public class Employee { public string FirstName { get; set; } public string MiddleName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } public Address EmployeeAddress { get; set; } } I have two employee instances as follows: var emp1Address = new Address(); emp1Address.AddressLine1 = "Microsoft Corporation"; emp1Address.AddressLine2 = "One Microsoft Way"; emp1Address.City = "Redmond"; emp1Address.State = "WA"; emp1Address.Zip = "98052-6399"; var emp1 = new Employee(); emp1.FirstName = "Bill"; emp1.LastName = "Gates"; emp1.EmployeeAddress = emp1Address; var emp2Address = new Address(); emp2Address.AddressLine1 = "Gates Foundation"; emp2Address.AddressLine2 = "One Microsoft Way"; emp2Address.City = "Redmond"; emp2Address.State = "WA"; emp2Address.Zip = "98052-6399"; var emp2 = new Employee(); emp2.FirstName = "Melinda"; emp2.LastName = "Gates"; emp2.EmployeeAddress = emp2Address; Now how can I write a method which compares these two employees and returns the list of properties which have different values. So in this example I would like the result to be FirstName and Address.AddressLine1 .

  • Abstracting the interpretation of MVC checkboxes values received by the FormsCollection object

    - by Simon_Weaver
In ASP.NET MVC a checkbox is generated by the HtmlHelper code here: <%= Html.CheckBox("List_" + mailingList.Key, true) %> as this HTML: <input id="List_NEW_PRODUCTS" name="List_NEW_PRODUCTS" type="checkbox" value="true" /> <input name="List_NEW_PRODUCTS" type="hidden" value="false" /> In case you're wondering why is there an extra hidden field? - then read this. Its definitely a solution that makes you first think 'hmmmmm' but then you realize its a pretty elegant one. The problem I have is when I'm trying to parse the data on the backend. Well its not so much of a problem as a concern if anything in future were to change in the framework. If I'm using the built in binding everything is great - its all done for me. But in my case I'm dynamically generating checkboxes with unknown names and no corresponding properties in my model. So i end up having to write code like this : if (forms["List_RETAIL_NOTIFICATION"] == "true, false") { } or this: if (forms.GetValues("List_RETAIL_NOTIFICATION")[0] == "true") { } Both of which i still look at and cringe - especially since theres no guarantee this will always be the return value. I'm wondering if theres a way to access the layer of abstraction used by the model binders - or if I'm stuck with my controller 'knowing' this much about HTTP POST hacks. Yes I'm maybe being a little picky - but perhaps theres a better clever way using the model binders that I can employ to read dynamically created checkbox parameters. In addition i was hoping this this post might help others searcheing for : "true, false". Even though I knew why it does this I just forgot and it took me a little while to realize 'duh'. FYI: I tried another few things, and this is what I found : forms["List_RETAIL_NOTIFICATION"] evaluates to "true, false" forms.GetValues("List_RETAIL_NOTIFICATION")[0] evaluates to "true" (forms.GetValue("List_RETAIL_NOTIFICATION").RawValue as string[])[0] evaluates to "true" forms.GetValues("List_RETAIL_NOTIFICATION").FirstOrDefault() evaluates to "true"

  • How can I programmatically construct the object reference?

    - by Bryan
Lets just say that I have three textboxes: TextBox1, TextBox2, TextBox3. Normally if I wanted to change the text for example I would put TextBox1.Text = "Whatever" and so on. For what I'm doing right now I would like to something like (TextBox & "i").Text. That obviously isn't the syntax I need to use I'm just using it as an example for what I need to do. So how can I do something like this? The main reason I'm doing this is to reduce code with a loop. Please keep in mind that I'm not actually changing the text of the textboxes I'm simply using that as an example to get the point across.

  • No parameterless constructor defined for this object when simply copying site

    - by jaffa
I'm getting the above error. All I have done is copied an existing site and set-up debugging to use a different port using IISExpress in Visual Studio. Any ideas why I would suddenly get this error? Normally I get this error when StructureMap cannot for some reason resolve a dependency to inject into a controller. But this has me stumped. The code-base is the same. All I've done is copied the code into another folder!?!

  • Object to Network serialization - with an existing protocol

    - by cpf
I'm writing a client for a server program written in C++. As is not unusual, all the networking protocol is in a format where packets can be easily memcopied into/out of a C++ structure (1 byte packet code, then different arrangements per packet type). I could do the same thing in C#, but is there an easier way, especially considering lots of the data is fixed-length char arrays that I want to play with as strings? Or should I just suck it up and convert types as needed? I've looked at using the ISerializable interface, but it doesnt look as low level as is required.

  • Serializing JSON string to object

    - by user1476075
I am trying to parse through a JSON string and convert it to the following POJO: package apicall; //POJO representation of OAuthAccessToken public class OAuthAccessToken { private String tokenType; private String tokenValue; public OAuthAccessToken(String tokenType,String tokenValue) { this.tokenType=tokenType; this.tokenValue=tokenValue; } public String toString() { return "tokenType="+tokenType+"\ntokenValue="+tokenValue; } public String getTokenValue() { return tokenValue; } public String getTokenType() { return tokenType; } } In order to do this I have written the following code: Gson gson=new Gson(); String responseJSONString="{\"access_token\" : \"2YotnFZFEjr1zCsicMWpAA\",\"token_type\" : \"bearer\"}"; OAuthAccessToken token=gson.fromJson(responseJSONString, OAuthAccessToken.class); System.out.println(token); When I run the code, I get the following output: tokenType=null tokenValue=null Instead of tokenType=bearer tokenValue=2YotnFZFEjr1zCsicMWpAA I dont understand if there's anything I've done wrong. Please help.

  • Problem with passing vector of pointers to objects to member function of another object

    - by Jamesz
Hi, I have a vector of pointers to Mouse objects called 'mice'. I'm passing the mice to the cat by reference. vector <Mouse*> mice; Cat * c; c->lookForMouse(&mice); And here's my lookForMouse() member function void Cat::lookForMouse(vector <Mouse*> *mice) { ... } And now to the problem! Within the function above, I can't seem to access my mice. This below will not work mice[i]->isActive(); The error message I receive suggests to use mice[i].isActive(), but this throws an error saying isActive() is not a member of std::vector<_Ty ... This works though... vector <Mouse*> miceCopy = *mice; miceCopy[i]->isActive(); I understand that I shouldn't be creating another vector of mice here, it defeats the whole point of passing it by reference (let me know if I'm wrong)... Why can't I do mice[i]-isActive() What should I be doing? Thanks for your time and help :D James.

  • Setting date from selectInputDate to object

    - by DD
I have a date controller which does various things. Once a calendar date is set, I want to pass the value from the date controller to another bean. The problem I have is that the setPropertyActionListener gets called before the user clicks on a date. Is there a way to get the date from the selectInputDate after selection and pass to a bean? This is what I tried: <ice:selectInputDate popupDateFormat="dd-MMM-yyyy" renderAsPopup="true" value="#{dateRangeDateContoller.end}" > <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{searchParameters.endDate}" value="#{dateRangeDateContoller.end}" /> </ice:selectInputDate>
