• Why can't I reference child entities with part of the parent entities composite key

  I am trying to reference some child entities with part of the parents composite key not all of it, why cant I? This happens when I use the following mapping instead of that which is commented. • Using Struts with SpringSource dm server gives Http Status 503 error

  Hi, I developed an enterprise application using spring, struts and hibernate, now I want to transfer it to work with OSGi dm server. I found a book "Pro SpringSource dm server" where the author has explained a way to migrate WAR to OSGi bundles. I successfully migrated the application given in book. The first step of migration says that remove the lib folder in WEB-INF directory and import all the relevant packages. I did the same. Application has been successfully deployed in the dm server. But when I tried to connect to URL it is giving me the error: SpringSource dm Server - Error report HTTP Status 503 - Servlet action is currently unavailable type: Status report message: Servlet action is currently unavailable description: The requested service (Servlet action is currently unavailable) is not currently available. What could be the reason for this? I am out of clues to solve this issue. Can you pass any help you may have. Thanks in anvance.

• Does business logic belong in the service layer?

  I've got a set of classes, namely, a data transfer object, a service implementation object, and a data access object. I currently have business logic in the service implementation object; it uses the dao to get data to populate the dto that is shipped back to the client/gui code. The issue is that I can't create a lightweight junit test of the service implementtion object(it's a servlet); I think the business logic should be elsewhere, but the only thing I can think of is putting business logic in the dao or in yet another layer that goes between the dao and the service implementation. Are there other options, or am I thinking about this the wrong way? It's a GWT/App Engine project.

• Indy FTP, large files and NAT routers

  Hello! I have been using Indy to transfers files via FTP for years now but have not been able to find a satisfactory solution for the following problem. When a user is uploading a large file, behind a router, sometimes the following happens: the file is uploaded OK, but under the mean time the command channel gets disconnected because of a timeout. Normally this doesn't happens with a direct connection to the server, because the server "knows" that a transfer is being taking place on the data channel. Some routers are not aware of this, though and the command channel is closed. Many programs send a NOOP command periodically to keep the command channel alive even if this is not part of the standard FTP specification. My question: how do I do that? Do I send the NOOP command in the OnWork event? Does this cause any collateral damage in some way, like, do I need to process some response? How do I best solve this problem?

  I'm currently writing some tests so that I may improve my skills with the Internet interaction through Windows Forms. One of those tests is to find a postal code which should be returned by Canada Post website. My default URL setting is set to: http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/fpc/personal/findByCity?execution=e4s1 The required form fields are: streetNumber, streetName, city, province The contentType is "application/x-www-form-enclosed" EDIT: Please consider the value "application/x-www-form-encoded" instead of point 3 value as the contentType. (Thanks EricLaw-MSFT!) The result I get is not the result expected. I get the HTML source code of the page where I could manually enter the information to find the postal code, but not the HTML source code with the found postal code. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong? Shall I consider going the XML way? Is it first of all possible to search on Canada Post anonymously? • KeepAliveException when using HttpWebRequest.GetResponse

  I am trying to POST an attachment to CouchDB using the HttpWebRequest. However, when I attempt "response = (HttpWebResponse)httpWebRequest.GetResponse();" I receive a WebException with the message "The underlying connection was closed: A connection that was expected to be kept alive was closed by the server." I have found some articles stating that setting the keepalive to false and httpversion to 1.0 resolves the situation. I am finding that it does not yeilding the exact same error, plus I do not want to take that approach as I do not want to use the 1.0 version due to how it handles the connection. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.   I am helping a startup business to launch and I will be building or finding a shopping cart software for its website. There will only be one product for sale, but anytime someone buys a product, I have to use customer information like their zipcode and which distributor they bought from to calculate commissions that will go to the different distributors. All the incoming money will be sent to one sort of escrow account for a few weeks, and after that few weeks is over, I need to be able to "throw the switch" and cause each of the 20,000 distributors to get their rightful share of that escrow account, depending on the data stored that reflects their sales activity and commissions due. Is this something I can write a script to handle? Better yet, is this something an inexpensive or open source solution can handle, or something that can be setup in something like Paypal? Or is a better approach to somehow create a webpage where each distributor can login to and see their commissions due and initiate the account transfer on their own, but the web app restrict them from transferring more than what they're due? • How to get better video quality in Lync?

  I want to use a ConferenceCam from Logitech to stream talks live via Lync. When I view the RAW webcam image via VLC, the quality is very good (but the latency is high because of buffering). However, when I stream it using Lync, the video gets blurry. Is there a way to ensure QoS in Lync or otherwise improve the video quality to (near-)native? I would rather have some dropped frames than a lower resolution where I can't read the slides. In my setup, I use Lync with an Office365-E3 contract, so I have no Lync-Server in my network. I thought about replacing Lync completely with VLC, but I first want to try Lync because VLC will probably cause firewall issues. Also, I haven't looked up the VLC parameters for less buffering, faster encoding, a bit lower resolution (natively it's more than HD) and streaming.

• ListView items not responding to tap

  I'm just getting my feet wet with Android and have built a UI that contains a TabHost with three tabs. Each tab is powered by its own Activity. The first Tab contains a listview with a prepopulated set of rows and is built from a custom ArrayAdapter. The problem I'm running into is that none of the ListView rows are tappable. In other words, when I tap on them there is no orange selection. If I use the scroll ball on my Nexus One it will select, but any touch gestures don't seem to be responding.   I am attempting to import a Certificate into the Current User - Personal store using the command line "importpfx -f [certificate name.p12] -p [password] -t USER -s Personal". It works, but for reasons I don't understand there are now two Personal stores under the Current User, and the imported certificate is in the new Personal store. When I try to connect to the website of [well-known money transfer service], it fails. However, if I manually import the certificate using MMC into the original Personal store, it works. My question is: How can I force IMPORTPFX to import the certificate into the original Personal store, and how can I delete the new Personal store? Context: I need to do a silent import of certificates on 3000+ remote point-of-sale devices, so it needs to be a silent install via PSEXEC (SysInternals).

  I'm on a Web Hosting Buzz reseller account. They have some very stringent mail sending rules, including blocking of authenticated SMTP socket mail sending using PEAR. It was suggested in WHB forum that this was possible with sSMTP.   Hi, I am getting a timeout exception when trying to use a net tcp endpoint through code that has no security and is streamed like so: NetTcpBinding binding = new NetTcpBinding(SecurityMode.None); binding.TransferMode = TransferMode.Streamed; binding.SendTimeout = TimeSpan.MaxValue; the same code would work if i just leave out the SecurityMode.None or choose SecurityMode.Transport, the exception is on a timeout that is too low, i tired adding all the timeouts for recive, send, open, close and set them all to Max and that didnt work. im using sample code from: http://csharp-codesamples.com/2009/02/data-transfer-using-self-hosted-wcf-service/ Any explenation as to how to use no security in this scenario would be appriciated.   Hi, I'm trying to optimize my page load times, and I'm using Pingdom to test the site response times. However, I'm not exactly sure what the various components of the "time bar" mean. Example link: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/?url=http://neosmart.net/forums//&id=2230361 According to them, the portion of the bar that is yellow is the time between "start" and "connect" and the portion of the bar that is green is the time between "connect" and "first byte" with the blue section being the actual transfer time (time between "first byte" and "last byte"). If I'm trying to the first two (which take very long in my case), what's the recommended course of action? Thanks.

• XSLT Escape Character not working

  I am trying to use escape charaters in my text output, as i would like too surround the output in emailData tags. I am using <xsl:text>&#60;emailData&#62;</xsl:text> In the XSLT to esnure that this works however because i am using a tool called Cast Iron for some reason it is not converting the &#60; into < and just spits out &lt;emailData> You can see am image of it HERE that illustrates the output i am getting. To achieve this, I set up a simple host (derived from System.MarshalByRefObject) that processes a System.Web.Hosting.SimpleWorkerRequest via HttpRuntime.ProcessRequest. This processes the ASPX script specified by the incoming request (using System.Net.HttpListener to wait for requests). The client-part is represented by a System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker that builds the System.Net.HttpWebRequest and receives the response from the server. I also tried the BinaryRead method of Request, but unfortunately it is empty. This corresponds to Request.InputStream==null and Request.ContentLength==0. And to make things really confusing the Request.HttpMethod member is set to "GET"?! To isolate the problem I tested the code by using a PHP script instead of the ASPX script. This is very simple: print_r($_GET); // prints all GET variables print_r($_POST); // prints all POST variables And the result is: Array ( [getTest] = 321 ) Array ( [postTest] = 654 ) So with the PHP script it works, I can access the POST data.   Qt's graphics view frameworks is very powerful, but I have not found a way to support custom layers. In Qt, there is a QGraphicsScene::ItemLayer,but QGraphicsScene renders all items are in this layer. I want manage the items with several layers, Just like Illustrator and CorelDraw. all the item only in the current layer will receive the event, be selected or get the key focus etc.. Other layers(not current layer) will not receive all scene event. The most reasons of using layers is I could catalogue a large number of items more clearly.And without needing transfer events to all the layers' items ,I think the graphics frameworks will be more efficient. The last question, does QGraphicsView support rendering server stacked graphics scenes at the same time? If support, I think the "custom layers" can be solved in this way. Thanks very much!

In my application I have to transfer data from my Iphone app to a PHP server and for this I have to compress the NSdata in my Iphone app and then pass it on to the PHP server and then Uncompress it in PHP and process the data sent by Iphone in PHP. For compressing the data in Iphone I have used zlib library.Now on PHP side I want to uncompress this data , but I am unable to do so. Can anyone help me in uncompressing this data in PHP. Here is my requirements: I need 2 HDMI input for 2 HD Camera the signal captured will be encoded with Adobe Live Encoder (does it support dual input sources? I do not require mixing of 2 sources) the encoding format will be H.264 (720p), then will be sent to Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server for LIVE broadcasting. http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ I found the one above online, but I am not sure about its performance, and it has only 1 HDMI input. If I plug 2 of them into my workstation, will it conflict with each other?

  Hi, I have table with an auto-increment field, but I need to transfer the table to another table on another database. Will the value of field 1 be 1, that of field 2 be 2, etc? Also in case the database get corrupted and I need to restore the data, will the auto-increment effect in some way? will the value change? (eg if the first row, id (auto-inc) = 1, name = john, country = UK .... will the id field remain 1?) I am asking because if other table refer to this value, all data will get out of sync if this field change.

  Hello everyone, I'm working on a webapp where I want to match some crc32 values that have been generated server side in PHP with some crc32 values that I am generating in Javascript. Both are using the same input string but returning different values. I found a crc32 javascript library on webtoolkit, found here: "http://www.webtoolkit.info/javascript-crc32.html" ... when I try and match a simple CRC32 value that I generate in PHP, for the life of me I can't generate the same matching value in the Javascript crc32 function. I tried adding a utf-8 language encoding meta tag to the top of my page with no luck. I've also tried adding a PHP utf8_encode() around the string before I enter it into the PHP crc32 function, but still no matching crc's .... Is this a character encoding issue? How do I get these two generated crc's to match?   Hi, I ran across an odd problem while trying to transfer a project to a windows machine.
