• How can we avoid packet missing in UDP Flex?

  Hi all, I'm trying to send large files using UDP Adobe air to CPP. While transferring large files some packets are missing. How can I retrieve the missing packets data? I'm first of all connecting client(air) with server(cpp) using tcp. After connection establishment I'm starting file transfer. I am planning to get the file missing data using tcp and then resending the missing packets using tcp. Can anybody tell me how can i come to know which packets are missing while transferring. • Hibernate many-to-many mapping not saved in pivot table

  I having problems saving many to many relationships to a pivot table. The way the pojos are created is unfortunately a pretty long process which spans over a couple of different threads which work on the (to this point un-saved) object until it is finally persisted. I associate the related objects to one another right after they are created and when debugging I can see the List of related object populated with their respective objects. So basically all is fine to this point.   I have the following code: HttpClient FETCHER HttpResponse response = FETCHER.execute(host, httpMethod); Im trying to read its contents to a string like this: HttpEntity entity = response.getEntity(); InputStream st = entity.getContent(); StringWriter writer = new StringWriter(); IOUtils.copy(st, writer); String content = writer.toString(); The problem is, when i fetch http://www.google.co.in/ page, the transfer encoding is chunked, and i get only the first chunk. It fetches till first "". How do i get all the chunks at once so i can dump the complete output and do some processing on it ?

• How to convert a mpeg4-aac video to mpeg-ts using MEncoder?

  Hello, I know this can be done using FFMpeg and I have done it. The only problem here was that FFMpeg actually tries to "encode" the file while converting to mpeg-ts which I don't want. i.e. I just want to change the container format to mpeg-ts without encoding the media. Is this type of conversion possible with FFMpeg? (I know about "copy" option, but it works with H264-aac and not with mpeg4-aac). Is it possible to change mpeg4-aac to mpeg-ts container format with MEncoder? I wish to know the personal opinion/advice of those who have already worked on such stuff. Thanks in advance.

• C#: Farm out jobs to worker processes on a multi-processor machine

  Hi there, I have a generic check that needs to be run on ca. 1000 objects. The check takes about 3 seconds. We have a server with 4 processors (and we also have other multi-processor servers in our network) so we would like to create an exe / dll to do the checking and return the results to the "master". Does anyone know of a framework for this, or how would one go about it in C#? Specifically: * What's the best way to transfer data between the master and the worker process? * How would the master ensure that always 4 processes are running at any one time and as soon as a worker process is finished start a new one. * How to register that the worker is finished and append it's results to a list? • Exporting query results to a file on the fly

  Hi all, I need to export the results of a query to a csv file in an FTP folder. Is it possible to achieve this within a stored procedure? If yes, comes yet another constraint: can I achieve this without sysadmin privileges, aka without using xp_cmdshell + BCP utility? If no to 2., does the caller have to have sysadmin privileges or would it suffice if the SP owner has sysadmin privileges? Here are some more details to the problem: The SP must export and transfer the file on the fly and raise error if something went wrong. The caller must get a response immediately, i.e. in case of no error, he can assume that the results are successfully transferred to the folder. Therefore, a DTS/SSIS job that runs every N minutes is not an option. I know the problem smells like I will have to do this at application level, but I would be more than happy if all those stuff could be done from T-SQL.

• How do I do automatic data serialization of data objects in Haskell

  One of the huge benefits in languages that have some sort of reflection/introspecition is that objects can be automatically constructed from a variety of sources. For example in Java I can use the same objects for persisting to a db (with Hibernate) serializing to XML (with JAXB) or serializing to JSON (json-lib). You can do the same in Ruby and Python also usually following some simple rules for properties or annotations for Java. Thus I don't need lots "Domain Transfer Objects". I can concentrate on the domain I am working in. It seems in very strict FP like Haskell and Ocaml this is not possible. Particularly Haskell. The only thing I have seen is doing some sort of preprocessing or meta-programming (ocaml). Is it just accepted that you have to do all the transformations from the bottom upwards? In other words you have to do lot of boring work to turn a data type in haskell into JSON/XML/DB Row object and back again into a data object.

  I have a cache service,it's works as .net remoting, i want to create another windows service to clean up the that cache service by transfer the objects from cache to files. because they are in separate process, is their any way i could access that cache service or do i have to expose a method from the cache service to do that clean up work? the "clean up" means i want to serialize the object from Cache to file and these saved file will be used for further process. let me explain this application more detail. the application is mainly a log service to log all the coming request and these request will be saved to db for further data mining. we have 2 design for this log system 1) use MSMQ, but seems it's performance is not good enough, we don't use it. 2) we design a cache service, each request will be saved into the cache, and we need another function to clean up the cache by serialize the object to file.

• How to find source of 301/302 redirect loop? Heroku GoDaddy Zerigo

  this should be a relatively simple problem but I'm having trouble.I hope this is the right forum to post on as I've seen people get booted off stack-overflow for this sort of thing. I've setup a web app on heroku (cedar stack) at my-web-app.herokuapp.com and I'm trying to direct my-domain.com and www.my-domain.com to it. As per instructions on the heroku documentation, I've set my-domain.com to redirect (forwarding) to www.my-domain.com and then set a C-Name from www.my-domain.com to my-web-app.herokuapp.com. But the C-Name doesn't seem to be working right and is sending back to my-domain.com, causing a loop and I can't work out why. I first configured these setting at GoDaddy.com where I registered the domain but then tried to avoid the problem by using Heroku's Zerigo DNS add-on, setting the nameservers on GoDaddy to the ones given for Zerigo. However the problem remains. • Deleting unreferenced child records with nhibernate

  Hi There I am working on a mvc app using nhibernate as the orm (ncommon framework) I have parent/child entities: Product, Vendor & ProductVendors and a one to many relationship between them with Product having a ProductVendors collection Product.ProductVendors. I currently am retrieving a Product object and eager loading the children and sending these down the wire to my asp.net mvc client. A user will then modify the list of Vendors and post the updated Product back. I am using a custom model binder to generate the modified Product entity. I am able to update the Product fine and insert new ProductVendors. My problem is that dereferenced ProductVendors are not cascade deleted when specifying Product.ProductVendors.Clear() and calling _productRepository.Save(product). The problem seems to be with attaching the detached instance. • IIS7 response size thresholds

  I have a customer who is attempting video playback via HTTP progressive download of very large files ( 1 GB). There is no problem once a file is cached at the edge via my CDN, but hits to my origin (first hits prior to edge-cache population) experience stalling and loss of sync between audio and video about an hour and a half into playback. This occurs pretty reliably at that point, suggesting that some threshold somehwere is getting hit. Are there IIS configuration knobs governing HTTP Response size? Other data points: I am unable to replicate this problem. I am looking at client bandwidth and last mile issues. I am looking at possible encoding recipe dependencies. But this problem never came up when we were using a "push" cache configuration (CDN-hosted origin), so something funky serverside at my origin seems like a likely culprit. Thanks ...

• pass data from popup to parent

  I have a parent w/ a popup child. When parent loads, I have to call a function within the popup without showing the popup (thus, I load "pupLove" but don't include it in layout)....I then pass this data to the parent. When the user manually clicks another button to open the popup, the same function is called & data passed to the parent. However, I am not able to pass dg.length to the parent. I believe the root problem is that I am loading "pupLove" & thus the parents are getting confused.....I'm guessing if I get rid of "pupLove" I can pass the data correctly but will need to call the child's function at creationComplete of the parent....how do I do that? • How to make schema dumps comparable between Windows and Linux

  I have two systems running, one on linux and the other on windows. From the linux box, I ran pg_dump against both systems and dumped the schema. pg_dump command: pg_dump -h HOST -U USER -s -f /tmp/out.sql DB_NAME After I removed all of the "--" comments, I diffed the files together. Diff output snippet, linux compared to windows: - ADD CONSTRAINT sys_c004775 FOREIGN KEY (ruleid) REFERENCES rule(ruleid); + ADD CONSTRAINT sys_c004775 FOREIGN KEY (ruleid) REFERENCES "rule"(ruleid); The linux dump does not quote any entities and windows does. Is this a function of some encoding or just of a difference between windows and linux? Is there an option in pg_dump to make the output more consistent?

  On a Windows 2008 R2, using DNS and IIS I've established my development test server; i.e. I'll have a web application that I can browse on http://test.dev I've moved all the static content files like images, js files and css files into another application which is visible on http://cdn.test.dev test.dev, uses cdn.test.dev urls like http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js to load js, css and images. When I first load "~/" of test.dev, all files will load with a response code of 200; when I press F5 in Firefox, all files, except the "~/default.aspx", will load with 304 response code; but pressing Ctrl+F5 loads them again with a 200 code; if I browse another url like "~/pages/" in test.dev, all of those static files will reload with a 200 code... Is this normal or I'm doing something wrong? Actually, I'm looking for a behavior like this: I want the client to load http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js, only once. I want the client's browser to use this jquery.js file, from cache, in all other pages of test.dev Is this possible? • Unable to browse some pdfs and docs.

  I have a web site that uses Microsoft Indexing Service to index and query a directory that holds various documents of type pdf, rtf, mht, and doc. The indexing and querying works well (for the most part); however, some files will load while others will not. This is a Windows Server 2003 box running the site using IIS 6. The indexed directory is a sub directory off of the site's root directory (i.e. http://my.domain.com/files/). The file paths are accurate in the URL; however, I can only access some of the files of each file type. The files that I cannot access give a 404 File Not Found. I am able to open all files via windows explorer;however, attempting to open them via a browser over http is hit and miss. Has anyone experienced this issue and know how to resolve it? Anyone have any idea why I could access some files but not others? Does anyone have any recommendations on what to look into to try this (i.e. does owner matter or something like that?)?   Is there an open source Flash uploader that can handle files larger than 2 GB? ASP.net implementations like SlickUpload are not an option, and SWFUpload (and others that I've seen) do not handle files larger than 2 GB. Nor is requiring the user to have Java installed to run applets. This would be for both IE and Firefox. I've seen a couple "large file transfer" sites that have a Flash uploader and claim to go past the 2GB limit (which is the limit for http uploads for most browsers) so I know it is technically possible.

The catch is, I need to take the line that I created, and list it multiple times (iterate ???), based on a number found in the XML. • SqlBulkCopy unusual TimeOut Error

  I have a SqlBulkCopy operation that is taking data from an MS-Access 2007 database (via OleDbConnection) and using SqlBulkCopy to transfer that data to a SQL Server database. This has previously been working and continues to work for one MS-Access database, but not the other. I get the error message: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. It is hard to believe it is a timeout ast the oledbCommand.CommandTimeout = 0 the sqlBulkCopy.BulkCopyTimeout = 0 and on either side (MS-Access and SQL Server the timeouts have now been set to 0). Are there other issues/exceptions that the above error message could be hiding? Is there a way to determine what the base cause of a sqlBulkCopy.WriteToServer exception is (there doesn't appear to be any inner exceptions etc...)
