• Is it possible to use CSS round-corners and still pass validation?

  IIRC the situation is that IE simply doesn't support rounded corners, but some other browsers need browser-specific extensions... either FF or web-kit, I don't recall. I'm happy to use it in some cases and let IE fall-back to square corners, but does using browser-extension CSS break validation... I quite like having my site validate AND work on IE6.

  Hey. I was coding here the other day, writing a couple of if statements with ints that are always either zero or one (~bools), and I asked myself: Should I use if (int == 1) or if (int != 0) ? Is there any difference at all? Please, don't answer with stuff regarding the int may being more/less than 1/0, that's not what I want to know.

• .NET & Worflow, SqlTrackingQuery.GetWorkflows() on wire correct - presented object not

  With windows workflow when using the tracking service, the SqlTrackingQuery.GetWorkflows() method returns correctly the workflow type and assembly version on the wire from the DB query - but when one comes to query the returned SqlTrackingWorkflowInstance object it's WorkflowType.AssemblyQualifiedName property is returned as the current assembly version of the workflow type (i.e. it looks to matching on FQ type name only and not version). Anyone know how to get to the actual returned data (other than either a custom query or hook)?

  Hello, How can I programmatically retrieve the current connection type (eg. LAN or Direct connection). InternetGetConnectedState(&ConTypeRet, 0) isn't very reliable. For instance, I'm connected to a wireless network, but ConTypeRet is 18 which is INTERNET_CONNECTION_LAN & INTERNET_RAS_INSTALLED. Isn't there anyway to make sure that ConTypeRet is either INTERNET_CONNECTION_LAN or INTERNET_CONNECTION_MODEM

  I've heard that objective-C is a proper superset of C, but is objective-C 2.0? The reason I ask is that either it isn't, or I misunderstand the phrase 'proper superset', because this code is valid C syntax: import int main () { char *nil = "hello"; printf("%s\n",nil); } But does not compile in Objective-C 2.0. Obviously, this is an easily fixable problem, but I'm writing a paper, and feel that this is something that should be pointed out.

  I've set up a basic html/php submission form where people can register for our event, but need a way to replace the submission form webpage with one that reads something like "We have reached our registration limit" when we reach a certain number of submitted forms. Our database is MySQL (if that makes a difference) I've looked around on the web but people either say to count the entries by hand, or the ones that do have an automated system use CMS like drupal or joomla.   If I have a block of code in a for loop that looks like total1 += i * i;, I get a weird, long value in total1 even if i increments from 1 to 10. However, this only happens if I don't do int total1 = 0;. This makes me wonder, what happens if I don't do that and why do I get a number in the 2 billions instead? (Though it's not the max value in an int either).
