  • In pdb how do you reset the list (l) command line count?

    - by Jorge Vargas
From PDB (Pdb) help l l(ist) [first [,last]] List source code for the current file. Without arguments, list 11 lines around the current line or continue the previous listing. With one argument, list 11 lines starting at that line. With two arguments, list the given range; if the second argument is less than the first, it is a count. The "continue the previous listing" feature is really nice, but how do you turn it off?

Hi all, i am quite new in python. I am receiving (through pyserial) string with data values. How can I parse these data to particular data structure? I know that 0-1 byte : id 2-5 byte : time1 =>but little endian (lsb first) 6-9 byte : time2 =>but little endian (lsb first) and I looking for a function: def parse_data(string): data={} data['id'] = ?? data['time1'] = ?? data['time2'] = ?? return data thanks

  • Microbenchmark showing process-switching faster than thread-switching; what's wrong?

    - by Yang
    I have two simple microbenchmarks trying to measure thread- and process-switching overheads, but the process-switching overhead. The code is living here, and r1667 is pasted below: https://assorted.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/assorted/sandbox/trunk/src/c/process_switch_bench.c // on zs, ~2.1-2.4us/switch #include <stdlib.h> #include <fcntl.h> #include <stdint.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <semaphore.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <sys/wait.h> #include <sys/types.h> #include <sys/time.h> #include <pthread.h> uint32_t COUNTER; pthread_mutex_t LOCK; pthread_mutex_t START; sem_t *s0, *s1, *s2; void * threads ( void * unused ) { // Wait till we may fire away sem_wait(s2); for (;;) { pthread_mutex_lock(&LOCK); pthread_mutex_unlock(&LOCK); COUNTER++; sem_post(s0); sem_wait(s1); } return 0; } int64_t timeInMS () { struct timeval t; gettimeofday(&t, NULL); return ( (int64_t)t.tv_sec * 1000 + (int64_t)t.tv_usec / 1000 ); } int main ( int argc, char ** argv ) { int64_t start; pthread_t t1; pthread_mutex_init(&LOCK, NULL); COUNTER = 0; s0 = sem_open("/s0", O_CREAT, 0022, 0); if (s0 == 0) { perror("sem_open"); exit(1); } s1 = sem_open("/s1", O_CREAT, 0022, 0); if (s1 == 0) { perror("sem_open"); exit(1); } s2 = sem_open("/s2", O_CREAT, 0022, 0); if (s2 == 0) { perror("sem_open"); exit(1); } int x, y, z; sem_getvalue(s0, &x); sem_getvalue(s1, &y); sem_getvalue(s2, &z); printf("%d %d %d\n", x, y, z); pid_t pid = fork(); if (pid) { pthread_create(&t1, NULL, threads, NULL); pthread_detach(t1); // Get start time and fire away start = timeInMS(); sem_post(s2); sem_post(s2); // Wait for about a second sleep(1); // Stop thread pthread_mutex_lock(&LOCK); // Find out how much time has really passed. sleep won't guarantee me that // I sleep exactly one second, I might sleep longer since even after being // woken up, it can take some time before I gain back CPU time.   • SQLAlchemy autocommiting?

    - by muckabout
I have an issue with SQLAlchemy apparently committing. A rough sketch of my code: trans = self.conn.begin() try: assert not self.conn.execute(my_obj.__table__.select(my_obj.id == id)).first() self.conn.execute(my_obj.__table__.insert().values(id=id)) assert not self.conn.execute(my_obj.__table__.select(my_obj.id == id)).first() except: trans.rollback() raise I don't commit, and the second assert always fails! In other words, it seems the data is getting inserted into the database even though the code is within a transaction! Is this assessment accurate?

  • How to dynamically change pagination urls in ExtJS?

    - by Tom Schaefer
I have two data grids. The first auto-loads a list of items (json data store). OnCellClick the first grid fires a dynamically parametrized url and loads data into the second grid. It works fine, but the pagination of the second grid does not focus the new context. What shall I do to make the pagination work with the new url?

  • block write access to table from an application in mysql

    - by hoberion
Hello, We have a CMS plugin that writes statistics to 1 table, this creates performance issues on the entire platform. We decided to use another statistics plugin which can connect to a different database server (the first plugin couldn't!) however we need parts of the first plugin. I want to lock the statistics table to prevent misusage (not allowed to drop it by the developer) So I was wondering if a lock table could do this or if I can implement some sort of read only table

  • Display different layout according to Facebook connection status in Android

    - by Rom Freiman
I'm building an Android application where I want users to connect by their facebook details. According to my design, when the application starts first time, I want to display a layout with LOGIN facebook button. After the user will perform login for the first time, I dont want to display this layout/activity again - when the application would be relanched, I want t display another (home) screen, and not the LOGIN one. How should I implement this functionality? Thanks

  • How to implement this UI

    - by Michael
Just curious if the tab bar UI element in screenshots is some built in class or customized. If it is customized, then please give me a hint on what classes I might check to have something like that. The first screenshot is initial tab bar. When I tap on the last icon the tab bar smoothly(animated) resize itself as on second screenshot. If I press the edit button the icons are shaking(as on iPhone home) and I'm able to arrange them. first second

  • Loading local html pages in UIWebView

    - by mwt
I'm working with a UIWebView loading local (i.e. in the source bundle) html pages, ala Apple's Transweb example. Loading the first page is trivial. However, I have added a second html page and linked to it from the first. Attempting to link to a second page doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how to make this work? Thanks.

  • Why does the Ternary\Conditional operator seem significantly faster

    - by Jodrell
Following on from this question, which I have partially answered. I compile this console app in x64 Release Mode, with optimizations on, and run it from the command line without a debugger attached. using System; using System.Diagnostics; class Program { static void Main() { var stopwatch = new Stopwatch(); var ternary = Looper(10, Ternary); var normal = Looper(10, Normal); if (ternary != normal) { throw new Exception(); } stopwatch.Start(); ternary = Looper(10000000, Ternary); stopWatch.Stop(); Console.WriteLine( "Ternary took {0}ms", stopwatch.ElapsedMilliseconds); stopwatch.Start(); normal = Looper(10000000, Normal); stopWatch.Stop(); Console.WriteLine( "Normal took {0}ms", stopwatch.ElapsedMilliseconds); if (ternary != normal) { throw new Exception(); } Console.ReadKey(); } static int Looper(int iterations, Func<bool, int, int> operation) { var result = 0; for (int i = 0; i < iterations; i++) { var condition = result % 11 == 4; var value = ((i * 11) / 3) % 5; result = operation(condition, value); } return result; } static int Ternary(bool condition, in value) { return value + (condition ? 2 : 1); } static int Normal(int iterations) { if (condition) { return = 2 + value; } return = 1 + value; } } I don't get any exceptions and the output to the console is somthing close to, Ternary took 107ms Normal took 230ms When I break down the CIL for the two logical functions I get this, ... Ternary ... { : ldarg.1 // push second arg : ldarg.0 // push first arg : brtrue.s T // if first arg is true jump to T : ldc.i4.1 // push int32(1) : br.s F // jump to F T: ldc.i4.2 // push int32(2) F: add // add either 1 or 2 to second arg : ret // return result } ... Normal ... { : ldarg.0 // push first arg : brfalse.s F // if first arg is false jump to F : ldc.i4.2 // push int32(2) : ldarg.1 // push second arg : add // add second arg to 2 : ret // return result F: ldc.i4.1 // push int32(1) : ldarg.1 // push second arg : add // add second arg to 1 : ret // return result } Whilst the Ternary CIL is a little shorter, it seems to me that the execution path through the CIL for either function takes 3 loads and 1 or 2 jumps and a return. Why does the Ternary function appear to be twice as fast. I underdtand that, in practice, they are both very quick and indeed, quich enough but, I would like to understand the discrepancy.

The second program can only start when the first program has finished. Which synchronization object do I need to implement this?

  • 50 million+ Rows of Data - CSV or MySQL

    - by eWizardII
Hello, I have a CSV file which is about 1GB big and contains about 50million rows of data, I am wondering is it better to keep it as a CSV file or store it as some form of a database. I don't know a great deal about MySQL to argue for why I should use it or another database framework over just keeping it as a CSV file. I am basically doing a Breadth-First Search with this dataset, so once I get the initial "seed" set the 50million I use this as the first values in my queue. Thanks,

  • Distinguishing between failure and end of file in read loop

    - by celtschk
The idiomatic loop to read from an istream is while (thestream >> value) { // do something with value } Now this loop has one problem: It will not distinguish if the loop terminated due to end of file, or due to an error. For example, take the following test program: #include <iostream> #include <sstream> void readbools(std::istream& is) { bool b; while (is >> b) { std::cout << (b ? "T" : "F"); } std::cout << " - " << is.good() << is.eof() << is.fail() << is.bad() << "\n"; } void testread(std::string s) { std::istringstream is(s); is >> std::boolalpha; readbools(is); } int main() { testread("true false"); testread("true false tr"); } The first call to testread contains two valid bools, and therefore is not an error. The second call ends with a third, incomplete bool, and therefore is an error. Nevertheless, the behaviour of both is the same. In the first case, reading the boolean value fails because there is none, while in the second case it fails because it is incomplete, and in both cases EOF is hit. Indeed, the program above outputs twice the same line: TF - 0110 TF - 0110 To solve this problem, I thought of the following solution: while (thestream >> std::ws && !thestream.eof() && thestream >> value) { // do something with value } The idea is to detect regular EOF before actually trying to extract the value. Because there might be whitespace at the end of the file (which would not be an error, but cause read of the last item to not hit EOF), I first discard any whitespace (which cannot fail) and then test for EOF. Only if I'm not at the end of file, I try to read the value. For my example program, it indeed seems to work, and I get TF - 0100 TF - 0110 So in the first case (correct input), fail() returns false. Now my question: Is this solution guaranteed to work, or was I just (un-)lucky that it happened to give the desired result? Also: Is there a simpler (or, if my solution is wrong, a correct) way to get the desired result?

  • JQuery Cascade dropdown problem?

    - by omoto
Hi All! I'm using JQuery based Cascade plugin probably it's working, but I found a lot of problems with it Maybe somebody already faced with this plugin and maybe could help. So, I using this plugin for location filtration Here comes my CS code: public JsonResult getChildren(string val) { if (val.IsNotNull()) { int lId = val.ToInt(); Cookie.Location = val.ToInt(); var forJSON = from h in Location.SubLocationsLoaded(val.ToInt()) select new { When = val, Id = h.Id, Name = h.Name, LocationName = h.LocationType.Name }; return this.Json(forJSON.ToArray()); } else return null; } Here comes my JS code: <script type="text/javascript"> function commonMatch(selectedValue) { $("#selectedLocation").val(selectedValue); return this. When == selectedValue; }; function commonTemplate(item) { return "<option value='" + item.Id + "'>" + item.Name + "</option>"; }; $(document).ready(function() { $("#chained_child").cascade("#Countries", { ajax: { url: '/locations/getChildren' }, template: commonTemplate, match: commonMatch }).bind("loaded.cascade", function(e, target) { $(this).prepend("<option value='empty' selected='true'>------[%Select] Län------</option>"); $(this).find("option:first")[0].selected = true; }); $("#chained_sub_child").cascade("#chained_child", { ajax: { url: '/locations/getChildren' }, template: commonTemplate, match: commonMatch }).bind("loaded.cascade", function(e, target) { $(this).prepend("<option value='empty' selected='true'>------[%Select] Kommun------</option>"); $(this).find("option:first")[0].selected = true; }); $("#chained_sub_sub_child").cascade("#chained_sub_child", { ajax: { url: '/locations/getChildren' }, template: commonTemplate, match: commonMatch }).bind("loaded.cascade", function(e, target) { $(this).prepend("<option value='empty' selected='true'>------[%Select] Stad------</option>"); $(this).find("option:first")[0].selected = true; }); }); I added one condition to jquery.cascade.ext.js if (opt.getParentValue(parent) != "empty") $.ajax(_ajax); To prevent Ajax request without selected value, but I faced with problem, when I reset selection in first box 3d box and bellow does not refresh: And second issue: I would like to know where is best place to inject my own function that will do something, with one requirement - I need to know that all boxes finished work. If somebody worked within let me know maybe we could together find solution. Thanks in advice...

Thanks in advance!

  • How to invert alternate bits of a number

    - by Cupidvogel
The problem is how to invert alternate bits of a number, starting from the LSB. Currently what I am doing is first doing a count = -1 while n: n >>= 1 count += 1 to first find the position of the leftmost set bit, then running a loop to invert every alternate bit: i = 0 while i <= count: num ^= 1<<i i += 2 Is there a quick hack solution instead of this rather boring loop solution? Of course, the solution can't make any asumption about the size of the integer.
