  • How do I pass argument from an activity to another in Workflow 4

    Hi I have created an Activity (CodeActivity) that retrieves the temperature where I live. I wan't to add that activity to a workflow and connect it to an if statement/activity that can based on my temperature outargument do different things. But I can't seem to find how to access the outargument from my temperature-activity. This is my first Windows Workflow 4 project so perhaps I'm attacking this in the wrong way. I have: public OutArgument Degrees { get; set; } But how do I access it? I have found tutorials how to get the data when running the activity (only one) but not as part of a workflow.   • Using Bookmarklet to open and pass values from Parent and Child Window

    Hi, Is there a way to open a window from the current page using a javascript bookmarklet, and once the the child window has finished loading, setting the value of one of the elements in its DOM to some value from the current page, say for example the currently selected text. I know that this can be done in plane javascript, and also, by appending the value to the URL, and reading it from the web service opened in the new child window. I want to know if there is any other way, as the appending URL method does not let you send text more than two thousand odd characters long. Appreciate any help I can get!

    Hi, I'm having a headache figuring how to retrieve the gwt Radio Buttons values in the server side. Here is my UiBinder form: <g:FormPanel ui:field="form"><g:RadioButton name="fruit">apple</g:RadioButton><g:RadioButton name="fruit">banana</g:RadioButton> ... So i though i would have to do this on the servlet: fruit = req.getParameter("fruit") But of course this doesn't work, parameter fruit doesn't exist :/ So how should i do?

In most cases you can change the location of your Java installation by setting the JAVA_HOME environment variable.   • Custom MembershipProvider attempts to pass empty creds after IIS restart

    I have a C# custom ASP.Net MembershipProvider. When the user attempts to navigate to another part of the site after IIS is restarted, it doesn't navigate to the login page to collect credentials, but instead attempts to authenticate with empty credentials. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to identify that the new authentication needs to take place and that new creds need to be gathered? I have a complementary custom IHttpModule implementation that allows me to intercept events like BeginRequest and AuthenticateRequest, if that helps.

    I'm trying to call a page method belonging to a MVC Controller from another site, by means of: $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "http://localhost:54953/Home/ola", data: "", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(data) { console.log(data.Name); } }); the method code is as follows, really simple, just to test: public ActionResult ola() { return Json(new ActionInfo() { Name = "ola" },JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet); } I've seen this aproach being suggested here, and I actually like it a lot, should it work... When I run this, firebug gets a 200 OK, but the data received is null. I've tried a lot of different approaches, like having the data in text (wish grants me "(an empty string)" instead of just "null") or returning string in the server method... Can you tell me what am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance, João

    Hi, I'd like to write a script that (under certain conditions) will execute gdb and automatically run some program X with some set of arguments Y. Once the program has finished executing the user should remain at gdb's prompt until s/he explicitly exits it. One way to do this would be to have the script output the run command plus arguments Y to some file F and then have the script invoke gdb like this: gdb X < F But is there a way to do this without introducing a temporary file?     I am designing a creation wizard in ASP.NET MVC 1 and instead of posting back each step, I'm using javascript to toggle the display of the different steps divs. This is a quick sample of the code, just to explain. <% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%> <fieldset> <legend>Fields</legend> <div id="wizardStep1"> <% Html.RenderPartial("CreateStep1", Model); %> </div> <div id="wizardStep2"> <% Html.RenderPartial("CreateStep2", Model); %> </div> <div id="wizardStep3"> <% Html.RenderPartial("CreateStep3", Model); %> </div> </fieldset> <% } %> I have javascript that just toggles the visibility of the divs, with each partial view containing a different section of the input form (which is pretty large by itself) My question is, if the form fails validation and I reload the page with the validation errors, is there a way for me to determine which div contains the error? Either in javascript or other? Failing that, is there a good client-side validation library for MVC 1? Ideally I'd love to move to MVC2 and the client side validation built into that, but I am required to use MVC1

  • How to not pass around the container when using IoC in Winforms

    I'm new to the world of IoC and having a problem with implementing it in a Winforms application. I have an extremely basic application Winform application that uses MVC, it is one controller that does all the work and a working dialog (obviously with a controller). So I load all my classes in to my IoC container in program.cs and create the main form controller using the container. But this is where I am having problems, I only want to create the working dialog controller when it's used and inside a using statement. At first I passed in the container but I've read this is bad practice and more over the container is a static and I want to unit test this class. So how do you create classes in a unit test friendly way without passing in the container, I was considering the abstract factory pattern but that alone would solve my problem without using the IoC. I'm not using any famous framework, I borrowed a basic one from this blog post http://www.kenegozi.com/Blog/2008/01/17/its-my-turn-to-build-an-ioc-container-in-15-minutes-and-33-lines.aspx How do I do this with IoC? Is this the wrong use for IoC?

  • Crystal Reports Failed Database Login

    Hello, After spending a good 3 to 4 hours on google trying to find any solution to my problem I haven't had much luck. Basically, we use crystal reports for our .NET applications with a sql server back end, we have many clients each with their own server and so our reports need to have their connections dynamically set. Up until a week ago this worked fine. However a few days ago a client reported they were getting a database login prompt for a report (only one report, the rest worked fine). We were quite stumped but we managed to reproduce it on a netbook which didn't have visual studio or sql server installed. In the end the dev decided to reproduce the report in the hope it was just an oddity in that particular report. Unfortunately a new client today also experienced the same problem, but this time for every crystal report they had - and also they worked on the netbook, so we are really quite lost here.   • fb:request-form in iframe redirects away from facebook

    I have an <fb:requestform> in an iFrame Facebook app. I have set target="_parent", so that the callback will target the parent iFrame and not itself, which seems to work as expected. But, instead of my desired file loading, I get redirected to my server. Checking the response of the requestform's POST in Firebug revealed this: <script type="text/javascript"> top.location.href = "http://www.facebook.com/login.php?api_key=***&v=1.0&req_perms=&next=http%3A%2F%2F***"; </script> I have already had this same problem when sending jQuery AJAX requests to update various elements in an iFrame. I solved the problem by making sure my headers contain P3P: CP="CAO PSA OUR". That is indeed set for this call as well (can be seen clearly in Firebug), but I still get redirected to facebook.com/login.php.

  • Installing Ruby Gems behind a Proxy

    It appears this topic has been covered a few times before, but those solutions have only gotten me so far. I now have my sources properly updated and I am able to query for gems without an error but I keep getting empty results for my searches. I installed rubysspi and copied over the spa.rb file as mentioned in the readme. The readme also suggested using this line which did not work for me based on my install path: ruby -rspa 'C:\Program Files\ruby\gem' list --remote sspi So I switched it to my install directory off the root: ruby -rspa 'C:\ruby\gem' list --remote sspi But that also didn't work so a search for the gem file located it in the bin directory so this command finally worked for me: ruby -rspa 'C:\ruby\bin\gem' list --remote sspi But I got empty results back: *** REMOTE GEMS *** SO I tried other gems and had the same results. Then I listed my gem sources and rubygems is listed as expected. Am I missing something else? c:\ruby>gem sources *** CURRENT SOURCES *** http://rubygems.org

How can I accomplish this? If I call it like so: log("My name is %s, and I like %s", "Dave", "Javascript"); I get this (it doesn't recognize "Javascript" as a 3rd argument): My name is Dave, and I like %s If I call this: log("My name is %s, and I like %s", ["Dave", "Javascript"]); then it treats the second arg as an array (it doesn't expand to multiple args). What trick am I missing to get it to expand the optional args?

  • Internet Explorer ajax request not returning anything

    At the end of my registration process you get to a payment screen where you can enter a coupon code, and there is an AJAX call which fetches the coupon from the database and returns it to the page so it can be applied to your total before it is submitted to paypal. It works great in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, but in Internet Explorer, nothing happens.
